    In this paper, the transient stability of synchhronous generator installed in "Termoelektrana-Toplana" Osijek power plant in island and parallel network operatio is analyzed using "Transmission 2000" software. By combining the matematical models of synchronous machine, turbine, regulation and protection system, as well as the parts of surrounding transmission and distribution networks, the system analysis using determined criteria is enabled, with results presented graphically.

    Prikazani izum je algoritam za izradu analitičkog modela procesa koji služi za otkrivanje jedne ili više skrivenih procesnih veličina. Iz ulaznih mjernih veličina procesa izdvajaju oni procesni modeli koji ukazuju na vodeće procesne veličine tako da se ispituje njihova kompatibilnost sa skrivenom procesnom varijablom. Izbacivanjem te vodeće procesne veličine postupkom renormalizacije ulaznih i referentnih ili ciljnih podataka dobivaju se rekombinacijom složeni modeli koji imaju to bolju kvalitativnu korelaciju sa skrivenom varijablom, što je poremećajna funkcija izrazitija

    Product quality concept in a ceramic tile plant is presented. Entropy and information content of measurement data is calculated. Several entropy concepts have been elaborated: Shannon entropy, 1D and 2D Carnap entropy. Because of plant informational macrodynamics the dominance of 1D Carnap entropy of process data sources has been argued on measurement data of the kiln temperature profiles and press control parameter data. Obtained process entropies have been compared to normalized process data distributions such as Gaussian and uniform distribution.

    Ontologies of the dynamic distributed Web enterprises differ. Ontology engineers need a tool for ontology updating that is swift and simple. Therefore a simplistic distributed semantic web model (SDSW) is proposed. Added to the model is an extension of the primary logic operators. Logic operators are viable on domain variables and describe the formation, evolution and updates of the ontologies with conflicting information. Knowledge Base over a specific conflict is formed that uses expert information in order to cover for the logic consistency. The measure of logic consistency is obtained which is based on the extension set of the primary logic operators. Algorithms for checking consistency are thus drastically shortened in the case of large number of object ontology variables.

    Information and communication technology (ICT) is the technology area with the fastest knowledge doubling and this sector is the most propulsive of all human activities. At the same time ICT is an infrastructure support for all business, scientific and other public and social activities, thus it influences the technical progress and business development of all of these human activities. This paper compares data on ICT literacy in Croatia with those in EU countries. The focuses is on thorough exposition of the ICT sector in the region of Slavonia and Baranja compared with Zagreb and overall ICT sector in the Republic of Croatia that is growing over 7% in the long-term period. The measures are proposed for improvement of operations and better development of ICT sector in the Slavonia and Baranja region. The model is feasible for other Croatian regions.

    In this paper, the transient stability of synchronous generator installed in "Termoelektrana -Toplana" Osijek power plant in island and parallel network operation is analyzed using TRANSMISSION 2000 ® software.     Information and Communication Technology system’s user should be considered as system’s component, because user’s behaviour can significantly affect the system’s security level. The aim of this paper is to develop an assessment method for user’s potentially risky behaviour. Ontology and OWL symbolic language have been chosen in order to define the semantic model and to formalize the knowledge of the domain on "user’s potentially risky behaviour". The Evidential Reasoning algorithm has been chosen for assessment of user’s behaviour. The normalized results for assessment on user’s behaviour give an interval ranging from 0,066 for the "naïve" user to 1,000 for the "paranoid" system’s user which can be used for reference in future work. Optimal displacement of capacitor banks is obtained using the criterium of minimal active power losses in network lines for existing capacitor banks. The proposed genetic algorithm has been adjusted for the optimization problem. An adaption of genetic algorithm has been done by more efficient individuals coding, by simplifying the selection type and by synergy of genetic crossover and mutation operators.

    The paper describes two successive sets of experiments of low-power diode laser treatment of corn kernels and wheat seeds. First experiment was conducted by use of laser beam for excessive moisture removing from corn kernels. Second experiment was conducted to determine influence of low power laser beam on mycotic population on wheat seeds. For proper doses indication seeds were artificially infected with various fungi, such as Penicillium, Fusarium, Alternaria, etc. in two intensities (high, low). The experiment was planned to establish the effect of laser treatment as compared to chemical treatment on sprouting efficiency, defined as percentage of total kernels that sprout after a specific incubation time, and on fungus survival, expressed as level of infection. An experimental conveyor belt system was build to expose the kernels / seeds to laser light in the latter case.     To assess the prevalence of injuries in elementary schools and determine specific risk groups of school-age children. According to the 1991 census, there were 6,398 children between 7 and 14 years of age in the study area of the former Koprivnica district. During the 1992-1997 period, 354 children were injured in school. The registration of injured children was performed via structured questionnaires filled out at the emergency clinic and outpatient surgical clinic of the General Hospital in Koprivnica. The mechanism of accident and activities preceding it were categorized according to the Nordic Medico-Statistical Committee classification. Chi-square test was used to determine groups of school children at specific risk and a classification tree was made on the basis of minimum entropy values for age, sex, activity, and mechanism of injury. Due to high complexity of complete system under study, usual quantitative techniques couldn't be applied. Qualitative-quantitative analysis has set up some basic relationships and showed possibilities in dealing with complex water flooding systems.     One way to enhance security, increase functionality and reduce costs of maintenance of the IT system is to reduce its complexity. In this work authors used Roger Sessions' methodology for complexity reduction of the enterprise architecture and by adapting it they develop methodology for complexity reduction of the IT system. One of the aims of the enterprise architecture is to maximize the business value delivered by the IT investment so it focuses on the relationship between an organization's IT architecture and its business architecture. Because of this tight relationship between enterprise and its IT system the adjustment of this methodology is possible. Three basic steps for the SIP (Simple Iterative Partitions) process are: partitioning of the system; simplification of the system and iteration between subsets of the system.
