Focus: Nowadays, innovation research in tourism sector has catch the attention of academics and business players. In fact, over the decades, tourism has experienced continued growth and deepening diversification to become one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. This master thesis, is to study in detail the theory of innovation in tourism and, to develop innovation strategies for the tourism sector.
This thesis is based on theoretical review about the concept of innovations in tourism industry to understand different types of innovations, the measurements and determinants of innovation. Although, innovation strategies and strategic innovation in tourism industry were the main focus of the study.
Findings: The findings provide a practical contribution to academics and companies on how certain strategies can be implemented in the tourism sector, such internationalization, the use of new technologies and sustainability. Moreover, different tools of strategy management were also studied, along with the innovation systems and innovation management.
Research limitations / implications: This paper is only limited to the theoretical part of innovation strategies in tourism industry. Performing an empirical study would be much more interesting, to learn more about how these different strategies are implemented. Furthermore, I have been focusing on all dimensions of strategies, and was unable to draw a practical conclusion but several valuables recommendations were provided.
Originality – Value: This study has established a framework for the further study of innovation in tourism. Accordingly, research in the field of innovation systems and innovation management might be developed in several forms. Regarding the innovations strategies, these are certainly useful knowledge for both academics and managers.

— Diagnosis, and monitoring of health is a very important task in healthcare industry. Due to time constraint, people are not visiting hospitals, which might and possibly lead to a lot of health issues in one instant of time. Predominantly most of the healthcare systems have been developed to predict and diagnose the health of the patients by which people who are busy in their schedule can also monitor their health at regular intervals. Many studies show that early prediction is the best way to cure health because early diagnosis will help and alert the patients to know the health status. Healthcare being a global issue more particularly India being a most populated nation where majority of which live in villages deprived of healthcare facilities on real time basis continuously and regularly. With the increasing use of technology, there is an urgent need to have such a smart health monitoring system that can communicate between network devices and application which will help the patients and doctors to monitor, track and record the patient's sensitive data containing medical information. This paper depicts the idea of solving health issues using the latest technology, Internet of Things (IoT). It presents the architectural review of smart healthcare system using Internet of Things(IoT) which is aimed to provide a Better HealthCare to everyone. Using this system architecture, patient's body parameters can be measured in real time.

Technological innovations play an instrumental role in impacting the consumer choices and business expansion over the world. Electronic Health Services or EHealth is one such innovation in healthcare, but it still has a long way to go for being adopted extensively by consumers in developing nations. The research framework adopted for this study is based on the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behaviour and aims at identifying factors that would have an effect on the adoption intentions for Ehealth in India. The results from the Structural Equation Modelling revealed that the attitudinal factors contribute significantly while subjective norms do not exhibit any significant relationship to e-health adoption intentions. All the variables constituting perceived behavioural control were also found to influence intentions of E-health adoption. Behavioural Intentions assert a significant influence on actual e-health usage.

This book describes and analyzes critical aspects of the labor market and social protection in the Arab world. The authors address the interrelationship between labor, human development, and social well-being in the Middle East and North Africa region -- an interaction that is viewed against the backdrop of a globalization process that is a crucial shaping factor in national and international relations alike. The authors scrutinize the implications for workers of the new forms of insecurity being ushered in by the globalization era. At the forefront is the issue of social protection, which creates several dilemmas for policymakers, since formal social security covers only a small percentage of the labor force. The idea of social reinsurance, which would integrate the informal sector and allow for social dialog, emerges at various levels, and there is general agreement that any such dialog, or new social contract, must include government, the private sector, and civil society.

For many years, numerous innovative housing projects (IHPs) have introduced visions on the future of
everyday life by foreseeing the success of various (smart) technologies at home. In general, these projects are
thought to be ‘futuristic, industrial, expensive and gadgetry’ (Mohammadi, 2010). However, many of the
experimental technologies of that time have already infiltrated into today’s daily activities. Therefore, the
motivation of this paper is to explore the integration (level) of technologies into the home environment. The
goal of this paper is to analyse the (level of) integration of technology promised in IHPs realized between the
period of 1920-2010. This is done by creating an overview of determined IHPs of which the innovative
technologies used are identified and analysed accordingly.
The analysis of integration is conducted by creating an overview of the existing IHPs. The sampling unit of the
study is determined to thirty-eight (38) IHPs, between the period from 1927 to 2008. The cases are examined
based on their following factors: ‘date’, ‘typology’, ‘goal’, 'initiator/designer' and 'prominent technological
novelty at that time'. Five typologies come forward in the IHPs: 'conceptual' (ideas transferred to paper),
'showcases' (open exhibition for visitors), 'experimental lab' (monitoring use/adjusted frequently), ‘living lab’
(monitored and inhabited, but short-term), and 'inhabited dwelling' (taken into production and used). Thus,
each IHP is examined individually by visually presenting its factors, and the IHPs in a shared typology are
discussed in relation to each other.
The novelty of this study is to synthesize the history of the IHPs through their contribution to the adaptation of
(smart) technologies in the home environment as well as in architectural design. The added value lies in the
insights of the factors of the cases and how they affect the integration of technology into daily life. In the
conclusion, the rate of the necessity of the technologies in the home environment is reconsidered and
discussed regarding the impact of IHPs on the architecture of today.

With natural language processing and machine learning, researchers are identifying patient emotional and medical needs that are not being met by clinicians and patient advocacy groups. This study leveraged artificial intelligence and natural language processing to algorithmically analyze over 500,000 public, anonymous patient comments online to understand what needs of chronic patients are unmet. The analysis has utilized the power of the machine to move past  unconscious assumptions on what  patients want and to augment traditional focus groups in which a small group of people often represent the voice of a population. It demonstrates the utility of large scale text mining for delivering real value to chronic patients and ensuring every voice is heard.
The study highlights the collective voices of the online patient communities across 10 different diseases with 6 out of 8 of patients’ top unmet needs to be more emotional than medical.  Patients want to understand how to live with their diseases, adapt daily routines to accommodate side effects, and connect with other patients to share their journeys. Current systems fail in humanizing patients.  Emotional needs are still largely unaddressed while medical needs are the focus of current efforts and innovation.  There remains a large opportunity for health care stakeholders to come together to treat patients as people rather than a set of symptoms and to provide greater support, awareness, and education. By doing so, we can define real patient value through the patient’s lens, addressing both their emotional and medical needs. Only then can we innovate, build and deliver the solutions that will ultimately help patients live the lives that they choose.

The concept of rural vitality often used to describe the rural areas as specific areas that are of particular significance not only for the region but also the country as a whole. Depending on the objectives investigated there are different indicators used to evaluate the vitality – one of them – rural residents social portrait. Purpose of the research is to identify the impact of changes of social portrait of rural residents on rural vitality. In this study, the indicators of general censuses of 2001 and 2011 were used to assess the social portrait of rural residents. The results showed that changes of social portrait of rural residents had both positive and negative trends on rural vitality. As positive trends should be mentioned rising higher grade educated, multilingual population, a rapidly improving life and living conditions in the rural areas compared with the townspeople. New inventions in material science and technology along with the consumer's demand for safe and appealing food, continues. To protect and preserve food products from any unacceptable alteration in quality, food products are packaged and transported hygienically reaching the end consumer. To improve and develop the food packaging industry, nanotechnology has the capability to bring revolution in food industry. The application of nanotechnology in food packaging has mainly focused on the parameters related to food quality, safety, and stability. Moreover, nanotechnology has been explored to extend the shelf life of food product within the package through controlled release of preservatives/antimicrobials. Nanoparticle-based food packages have attained positive response from the market and consumer because they offer enhanced barrier and mechanical characteristics. In the food packaging sector, promising reports regarding nanotechnology applications have recognized this technology as being a significant research area. In contrast, developments in this area have indicated several ethical, environmental, and safety concerns. Different policies and regulation concerning nanoparticles applications in food packaging are being evaluated. This review focuses on the applications of nanotechnology in food packaging with special consideration to their effect on quality and safety of food commodities.

High-tech innovative SMEs’ development plays crucial role in economic growth of every country. It creates new work places and infrastructure, motivates people for creating new ideas. At the same time, SMEs still face with a huge number of problems in the business performance. The purposes of the research are: to define main barriers for high-tech SMEs’ development in the 4th industrial revolution era (4IR); to work out recommendations for policy-makers towards intensification of SMEs’ potential.
For this purpose, the authors reviewed studies devoted to the SMEs’ innovative development and revealed that main barriers of SMEs’ development are related to inefficient government support in this sphere. In order to work out recommendations for Ukrainian policy-makers in the area of SMEs’ development, the authors conducted a survey of local high-tech SMEs and on the basis of SWOT-analysis distinguished the main directions for their further improvement. Finally, a set of recommendations for improving SMEs’ environment in Ukraine, taking into consideration the challenges of the 4th IR, was developed.

This paper aims at showing that the regionalization, innovations, smart specialization and sustainable tourism development like contemporary basis of rural tourism development can significantly contribute to increasing the competitiveness of both of the whole region and all its parts, and hence rural ones. We used several methods such as literature analysis and empirical research based on the questionnaires distributed to the stakeholders in the tourism of the Šumadija District. Our conclusion is that there is a positive attitude among the stakeholders towards creating a tourism region in the Šumadija District based on innovations, smart specialization and sustainable development. We also claim that rural tourism is a priority and that the stakeholders in the Šumadija District should focus on this type of tourism.

This thesis proposes a typology of responsiveness in order to reduce interpretive ambiguity and to provide a framework which makes possiblean assessment of the extent to which responsiveness is likely to be institutionalised in higher education. The typology is tested at two universities. The findings indicate that the typology developed can be deployed to reveal insight into how responsiveness is manifesting at universities. The findings around institutionalisation of responsiveness are less conclusive but indicate that while there is evidence of the institutionalisation of a particular type of university responsiveness, the process is at best partial as the academic heartland of higher educationsystems remain slow to accept the demands made by the state, university leadership and other stakeholders for more responsive universities.

The present paper compares the role of innovations for the environmental
sustainability from two conflicting approaches: the neoclassical versus the
evolutionary perspective. Following the neoclassical view, innovations play a keyrole
to achieve the goal of environmental sustainability, through their contribution
to the technological progress that can offset the effects of pollution. However,
sustainable innovations necessarily need to be driven by a well‐designed
environmental regulatory framework because of their double externality problem.
On the opposite, the evolutionary approach addresses the analysis of innovations
for the environmental sustainability in their multi‐dimensional nature, by
considering sustainable innovations as dependent upon the interactions between
technical, sociological, and economic systems. The two approaches are
complementary insofar as the deterministic neoclassical perspective investigates
incremental sustainable innovations, whereas the evolutionary theories analyse
radical sustainable innovations by avoiding any ‘technology bias’ since they stress
the need for a consideration of socio‐institutional aspects in the analysis of
innovations.

BigaTEN Season 2 Episode 25 aired on September 21, 2021 and featured the initiatives and innovations of the Department of Education Division of Cagayan de Oro City. BigaTEN is a renowned online learning series organized by the Department of Education Regional Office 10. It attracts viewers from the fourteen divisions, as well as from other regions throughout the country.

The event showcased key divisional successes and innovations via three learning episodes. Dr. Lorebina C. Carrasco, Chief, Curriculum Implementation Division, and Dr. Joel D. Potane, Senior EPS/Division LRMDS & Research Coordinator, were featured in Episode 1 titled One STOP Learning Resource Portal: The Shopping Destination for CDO Teachers. The second episode is titled "Lab Ko ni LRI," with the discussants  Mark John T. Gabule, Division Program Holder, and Marivic D. Labitad, School Principal, Cagayan de Oro National High School-Junior High Campus; and the third episode is titled "Eye-ball-to-eye-ball via Bichronous Learning," with Dr. Shirley A. Merida, PSDS, Focal Person Bichronous Learning, Mr. Michael Dave Tan, Project Development Officer, MS Teams Trainer; and Roxanne Fuentes, M & E Specialist and MS Teams Trainer.

As discussed in Episode 1, the division developed an idea that would bring all of the materials together to make life easier for schools, particularly teachers. CDO Learning Resource Portal serves as a one-stop shop for schools and teachers to access learning resources for use in the various learning modalities. It's similar to a shopping center in that it contains all of the necessary educational resources in one location. All you have to do is click and select the best educational resource you need.

The second learning episode highlighted contextualized learning resources developed by learning resource innovators (LRI) for the purpose of enhancing learners' knowledge, abilities, and values in the new normal. Lab ko ni LRI demonstrated ultimate love, concern and care for their learners since they look for methods and means to innovate and contextualize learning resources in order to make them more personalized to the learners' contexts and literacy needs. TSADA CDO, I hear Kids read, I design and create learning packs, ALS Bridging Camp (ABC), and Video-Based SLMs for Kinder are just a few of the numerous educational tools designed and exhibited.

The last episode highlighted on the bichronous online learning modality. Some key points were discussed like the division and school preparations, information and technology infrastructure, process of the implementation and the components of the monitoring and evaluation. The personal experiences of  teachers, learners and parents were also mentioned in the learning episode. It is good to note that whatever challenges in the bichronous learning modality, everyone if optimistic for a better results and outcomes.

As what Dr. Cherry Mae Limbaco-Reyes said that “Let us draw strength from each other as we continue to harmonize our efforts and goals. Together, we shall overcome this struggle and win the battle.” Hence, with constant communication and collaboration among stakeholders, surely, best of success awaits us in the end.

Knowledge is the currency of today's economy and the crux of knowledge management, which in turn the lifeline of modern-day organizations. It has been used since 1990s as a tool to achieve sustainable competitive advantages and greater performance, and now, it is becoming an essential asset to sustain organizational competitive advantages and a vehicle for continuous progress and innovation. It is every organization's objective to be able to grow and progress whether it is an SME or a large enterprise so to ensure that there is return on investment of the shareholders and this objective can be met through sustainable superior organizational performance. There are many determinants that may influence organizational performance operating in the current economy but one that is being increasingly recognized as vital is knowledge management. This article has two objectives: The first is to provide an overview of knowledge management and highlight the importance of this field of practice, and the second is to provide few case studies of the successful implementation of knowledge management from different industries. Thus, we will further explore the notion that knowledge management positively impacts organizational performance through the analysis of a number of case studies where knowledge management is being practiced. We will start by highlighting the general interpretation of organizations, the current economy within which they are operating, the concept of knowledge management and how it may be used within organizations. This will be followed by an analysis of cases of knowledge management being practiced and the impact it has had on the overall performances, and finally present our argument that suggest knowledge management positively impacts organizational performances.

The article presents the results of research on the consciousness of Industrial Monuments Route Brand among the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship. The article aims to discuss the concept of  the visual identification system and brand of  The Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship and its’ perception of inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship in the light of the pilot studies results.

The purpose of this research is multidimensional: first, it evaluates the Preparatory Year Program at Qassim University both academically and administratively analyzing its organization, importance, progress and productivity. Second, it throws some light on the possibilities and probabilities that can further improve and strengthen the quality of the prevalent English Language Unit (ELU) program. Finally, the article addresses and identifies the impediments that have played a negative role in the smooth progress and the speedy development of the program suggesting the positive reforms to make it more organized and productive. Since the administrators and the teachers are the target population of this research, both have been approached to find the required data. One hundred teachers from ELU were surveyed on the hypothesized 18 statements related to the possible innovations and reforms.
