In this paper, operating principles of regulated AC to DC converters have been discussed and the simulation results are provided. The circuit is built and simulated by Proteus software. The characteristics of half wave, centre tap and bridge rectifiers under forward and reverse directions was simulated and their output waveforms was analyzed. The key components used for the construction are step down transformer, diode, capacitor, zener voltage regulator, and output load resistor. The circuit was design using stage by stage approach which comprised four modules. These include: 220V to 12V step down transformer, rectifier, DC filter and regulator circuits. The stepdown transformer was used to transform 220V voltage AC input into 12V voltage AC output. The Rectifier circuit was used to convert this low voltage AC into pulsating DC voltage output that consists of ripple components. We then connected a capacitor of a high capacitance to the output of the rectifier, to filter the pulsating DC voltage to produce pure DC voltage. Due to unwanted input fluctuations, we connected 12V zener diode regulator to maintain the output voltage at a constant 12V value. The simulation results show that for half wave rectifier only half of the input ac waveform appeared across the load while for the centre tap and the bridge rectifiers both positive and negative half cycles of the input AC waveforms are allowed. The results obtained from simulation are compatible with the actual experiments.

This work presents an autonomous street lighting system based on solar energy as primary source, batteries as secondary source, and lighting emitting diodes (LEDs) as lighting source. It presents high efficiency, because all power stages are implemented in DC. It proposes the use of LED-based lighting systems that receive energy from leadacid batteries, charged by the solar panels and a DC/DC converter is used to control the output power of the PV panel and the charging current for the battery. Here the control circuit basically works in two modes: light control and intensity adjustment. Under the light control mode, LED lamps turn OFF during daytime and turn ON at night automatically using a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR). The LDR performs the Dusk-Dawn operation. PWM technique is used to adjust the intensity of lamps by detecting the presence of the pedestrians using a Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR).

In this work, the combined effects of two waste materials—unprocessed rice husk ash (RHA) and expanded polystyrene (EPS)—on various concrete properties are assessed. Petrochemical sources are the source of polystyrene, which is frequently used in insulation and packaging before being discarded at the end of its useful life. However, RHA, a byproduct of milling rice, is an easily accessible agricultural waste item that is frequently underutilized throughout many locations. Because these materials have potential for recycling and repurposing, their disposal can have a smaller negative environmental impact, promoting sustainability. This study investigates the possibility of using rice husk ash (RHA) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) as bio composites to partially replace conventional building materials in concrete. The study looks into how they affect the final concrete mixtures' workability, water absorption properties, compressive, tensile, and flexural strength. A common building material, concrete is coming under more and more attention because of its large carbon footprint, which is mostly caused by the energy-intensive manufacturing of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). This study investigates the feasibility of partially substituting conventional components in concrete mixtures with expanded polystyrene (EPS) and rice husk ash (RHA) as sustainable alternatives in response to these environmental concerns. There are two different kinds of agro-waste materials: EPS and RHA. The results demonstrate how RHA and EPS, as bio composites, may support environmentally friendly building methods. But when it comes to the proportions of the concrete mix, accuracy and balance are crucial. Key factors for ecologically responsible building include managing water resistance issues, preserving workability, and striking a balance between sustainability and structural integrity. This study offers an environmentally favourable way ahead for sustainable construction practices by laying a solid foundation for the use of RHA and EPS in concrete manufacturing.

The news, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has acquired the famous Campa Cola brand from New Delhi-based Pure Drinks Group for an estimated amount of Rs 22 crore has stirred up a bout of nostalgia for the generation who grew up in India during the 80s. Interestingly enough, only one generation of Indians were deprived of the global cola brands – Coke and Pepsi, those who began to consume aerated soft drinks between the exile period of 1977 – 1991 [1]. When the foreign brands relaunched in India in the early 90s, Ramesh Chauhan of Thums Up fame sold out to Coke anticipating aggressive powerflexing, global brand image, improved supply chain logistics omnificent of an MNC. But India of 1991 and India circa 2023 is a big difference. Today, Campa Cola has the backing of Reliance with deep pockets, experience of managing mega projects of global scale, world class operations and economies of scale, ability to engage in active price-wars and emerge successfully is a different ball game altogether [1]. Is Reliance trying to create a niche market with the generation (now in their 50s) as a market entry strategy or use its prior experience of cut-throat pricing and cross-subsidization to scale up the markets to international size through its retail business? Campa Cola has an even chance of success in its second innings. Can it turn the odds in its favour?

In practice, the presence of lifters in the drum of the rotary dryer plays an essential role in continuously stirring the cocoa beans, thus facilitating the drying of both the beans forming a curtain and the bed; three-dimensional lifters were used. The results show that the optimal unloading angle range obtained for better filling rate is between 110° - 140°. The effects of the operating parameters (the speed and temperature of the drying air, the ratios of the drying mass flow rates and the rotation speed) showed that the air speed of 0.5 m/s corresponds to an optimal reduction in water content, at the highest product temperature and drying kinetics. On the other hand, the appropriate air speeds are of the order of 1.5 m/s to 2.0 m/s, allowing us to consider the aesthetic aspect of the device. However, the impact of the design parameters (the inclination of the drum and the presence of the lifters) on the evolution of drying are of two orders: the first is that the entry speed of the cocoa bean particles increases once fallen from the flight. The second is that the inlet velocity in the axial direction increases, as does the velocity in the transverse direction, resulting in a reduction in dwell time. Complemented to this, the addition of the lifters in steps of 5 caused a further 12% reduction in the water content. Finally, the optimization results revealed the tilt angle of 3°, the diameter of 0.6 m, and the rotation speed of 10 rpm of the drum and the characteristic lengths of the lifters of 0.125 m, 0.125 m and 0.50 m as the optimal operating sizes of the rotary cocoa bean dryer.

This study aimed to explore (deeper understanding) challenges pertaining to expansion (population growth and areal extension) of the university town, Ambo, 115 kilometers away, on the west, of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. Descriptive design was adopted and both quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed. The sampling frame comprised public sector employees offering essential and utility services. It also included the residents of the main-town and peripheral town whose stay/association was for more than ten years. Accordingly, quantitative data was analyzed for 270 questionnaires. Significant numbers of questions were included on the Likert Scale. Qualitative data was collected by interviewing 8 key informants. Secondary data was vital for the study. A simple ratio-based analysis was done to show agreed vis-à-vis disagreed responses. Findings suggested a population growth rate of 5.5% per year and a corresponding theoretical increase of built-up area of 8.25%. Responses to challenges of healthy expansion of Ambo town were classified into challenges, problems and issues. Challenges include land management, education, housing, and solid waste management. Further, the town exhibits a linear settlement pattern due to topographic reasons and its location on a highway. By combusting hydrogen with oxygen, in Spark Ignition Engine Fuelled by hydrogen, the comparative analysis shows that some amount of water is produced along with fewer amounts of harmful gases, making hydrogen the ultimate in “green” fuels. However, in air and at high burning temperatures, it also produces some oxides of nitrogen. These features make hydrogen an excellent fuel, potentially, meeting the ever increasingly stringent environmental controls of exhaust emissions from combustion devices. This also includes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In a 4 stroke SI Engine hydrogen (which is produced by electrolysis) is injected to the engine cylinder with gasoline. emissions are observed by reducing the gasoline supply with the help of exhaust gas analyser. Different emission readings of CO, CO2, HC, NOX are taken by reducing the gasoline supply. Considerable reductions in emissions like CO, CO2 are observed. So with hydrogen as an alternative fuel can be a solution to global warming to certain extent.

Searching is one of the important operations in computer science. Retrieving information from huge databases takes a lot of processing time to get the results. The user has to wait till the completion of processing to find whether search is successful or not. In this research paper, it provides a detailed study of Binary Search and how the time complexity of Binary Search can be reduced by using Odd Even Based Binary Search Algorithm, which is an extension of classical binary search strategy. The worst case time complexity of Binary Search can be reduced from O(log2N) to O(log2(N-M)) where N is total number of items in the list and M is total number of even numbers if search KEY is ODD or M is total number of odd numbers if search KEY is EVEN. Whenever the search KEY is given, first the KEY is determined whether it is odd or even. If given KEY is odd, then only odd numbers from the list are searched by completely ignoring list of even numbers. If given KEY is even, then only even numbers from the list are searched by completely ignoring list of odd numbers. The output of Odd Even Based algorithm is given as an input to Binary Search algorithm. Using Odd Even Based Binary Search algorithm, the worst case performances in Binary Search algorithm are converted into best case or average case performance. Therefore, it reduces total number of comparisons, time complexity and usage of various computer resources.

Now-a-days, there is an increasing demand for data integration and analytics due to the availability of huge amount of records in multiple data sets. In data integration, record linkage gains prominent importance to identify and match records across data sets that belong to the same person. Record linkage becomes complicated with presence of erroneous identifiers and hence needs approximate matching to find similarities between the same person records. Also, the data sharing for record linkage can lead to disclosure of confidential information about the personal records. Thus, Privacy preserving record linkage (PPRL) involves detecting and matching of records among two or more data sets in a secure manner. It is useful for the purpose of research activities and analysis across wide application areas. The utilization of Bloom filter encoding with its hardened versions are suitable for approximate matching in PPRL, but some of them are vulnerable to re-identification attacks while others reduce linkage accuracy. Moreover, phonetic encoding can provide robust matching with its inherent security characteristic for PPRL. However, most of existing PPRL techniques had attempted to provide privacy while compromising the linkage accuracy. This research focuses on designing a new approach named as two factor encoding for PPRL (2FE-PPRL) using phonetic and Bloom filter encoding to achieve increased linkage accuracy while maintaining privacy. Our 2FE-PPRL approach depicts better results than existing PPRL techniques Phonetic and Bloom Filter encoding as analyzed through precision, recall and f-measure.

The concept of Spirituality is difficult to understand on a superficial level. However, God is present in all of us. Trying to find that godliness or connecting with that inner God is how spirituality can be defined for a layman. Spirituality is a broad concept and is not limited to religion alone. It is not necessary that spirituality can be obtained through only a single, specific source. Each human being has an equal right for being spiritual and practice different ways of attaining spirituality. Every religion has been teaching humans to become better persons, selfless in giving. But there are different aspects of spirituality that need to be explored. This paper is an attempt to understand the concept of spirituality, its importance and the outcomes of the same amongst the citizens of Pune. The major findings reveal that spirituality is gender unbiased and that family is the primary influencer in the process of spirituality. A majority of the respondents associated peace of mind and meditation with spirituality and this can help them in overcoming situations of crisis. The research helped in developing a simple scale to measure affinity or liking towards spirituality. The research also helped in understanding the importance of technology in the process of exploring the self. Though the research is confined to a particular city, Pune, the outcome that Spirituality can be perceived as any way through which an individual realizes the connections with the external world, attains peace of mind and contentment, and becomes a better version of self where age, income, education, occupation, gender, egos do not matter at all, has global implications..

In water resources and more specifically in hydrology, the application of mathematical models to represent the hydrological cycle process is crucial. This is the reason why the hydrological concepts are expressed in mathematical language to represent the corresponding behavior observed in the nature. The current research targeted to develop a hydrological model using HEC-HMS model version 4.7.1 for runoff estimation in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The Geographic Information System (GIS) was utilized to identify the geometric and hydrologist parameters. The Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCS-CN) Method was adopted to estimate the rainfall losses while the Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCSCN) Method was used to transform the excess rainfall into a direct runoff hydrograph. Muskingum Model was adopted for routing the total runoff from the outlet of the sub-basin to the outlet of the total basin. Model calibration was achieved using different sets of data (CN, Lag time and Muskingum K) in which the data used was for seven years (2000 to 2007). Results of model calibration showed very good fit between the simulated and observed data based on Coefficient of determination (R2 ) = 0.9, Nashsutcliffe Efficiency = 0.92, Root Mean Square Error = 0.1 and the Percent Bias = 0.77%. The model validation was accomplished based on data for couple of years (2007 to 2009) and it is indicated there is a very good matching between the simulated and observed hydrograph. Eventually, based on what have been presented earlier, it can be concluded that the model can be utilized for the Cameron Highland Watershed.

Ordinary concrete is widely used in construction engineering due to its high compressive strength, low cost and abundance in raw material. However, the main problem of plain concrete is weak in resistance to tensile loads; constituting a major restriction to its usage. Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) tend to be most aspirational Nano material having favorable mechanical properties and developed aspect ratio, for reinforcing cementitious elements which are weak in tension. Nevertheless, CNTs may agglomerate within the cement matrix due to high Van der waals forces, resulting in low enhancement or even deterioration of concrete. Therefore, the objective of this literature survey is to summarize the past experimental data on the properties of concrete with carbon nanotubes. The prime objective is to identify the optimum content of CNT in concrete for improving the Compressive and Flexural strength of concrete. The Optimum Content of CNT in the concrete is the most important parameter that highly influences its mechanical properties, workability, durability and various other properties.

Road development requires great investments not just for building of brand new infrastructure but additionally for that fix and also repairs and maintenance of outdated models. Just in case of establishing countries, including India, there's a lack of funds necessary for brand new infrastructure projects equally for construction plus more considerably for their repairs and maintenance. The latest concentration is about the development of long-range executing pavement. The majority of the roads of ours are bituminous pavements that are indicating premature indication of distresses such as rutting, cracking, ageing, and others as a result of boosting a lot, severeness of heavy traffic, higher tyre stress, and so on. Concrete pavements will be used as a substitute to classic bituminous pavements. Among the potential substitute rehabilitation strategies to bituminous overlays stands out as the usage of white topping overlay on a current bituminous pavement. With this research an effort is manufactured to assess life cycle cost analysis of bituminous and concrete pavements & recommend an advantageous option among them. Life-cycle cost evaluation (LCCA) is a crucial element of contemporary roadway infrastructure style as well as method choice. LCCA embraces upkeep and also rehabilitation costs, not only original building costs when analyzing pavement options. This particular undertaking provides research on LCCA of highways and in addition throws light about the previous literature deliver the results. The range of living cycle being can vary therefore and considerably the outcomes are hypersensitive on the outlined method borders. Road user prices in connection with road works out turns into a pertinent parameter of life cycle cost analysis of pavements for selecting optimum option. Future rehabilitation expenses were lowered. The perfect alternative would bring about higher succeeding costs in case it wasn't optimized. Life cycle costing is a strategy that provides project managers a choice assistance tool to pick. To determine the managerial effects of the increased performance as well as upkeep expenses, the expenses have to become assessed within an advantage managing viewpoint. Environmentally friendly excellence is possible through decrease in setting pollution as talked about earlier. The quality remains the exact same. The advancement of a life cycle expense application provides for the evaluation of a variety of design and style alternatives to figure out what pavement style would be the majority of economical during the complete life cycle of the pavement.

Pipes laying on an unstable slope of soft soil are prone to movement. Pipelines that are buried in unstable slope areas will move due to lateral loads from soil movement which can cause damage to the pipeline. A laboratory small-scale model of the reinforcement system of piles supported retaining walls was conducted to investigate the effect of lateral load on the reinforcement. In this experiment, the lateral forces of 0.3 kN, 0.35 kN, and 0.4 kN and vertical force of 0.05 kN, 0.1 kN, and 0.15 kN were used. Lateral load from electric jack is equipped with load cell and vertical load used cement-steel box. To validate the experimental result, a finite element program was used. The experimental results showed that an increase in lateral loading, increased the displacement of the reinforcement system. For a Vertical Load 0.05 kN and versus a lateral load of 0.3 kN causes a horizontal displacement of 0.34 mm and an increased of 2.94 % for loading of 0.35 kN and an increased of 8.82% for loading 0.4 kN. The pattern is the same in the finite element method analysis, where there was a 2.38% increased for 0.35 kN loading and an increased to 33.33 % for 0.4 kN loading. In the same Load, the Reinforcement System is reliable as shown in Safety Factor on dry condition were 3,33, 2,828 and 2,476, and on wet condition were 2,99, 2,524 and 2,237.

Since its inception, friction stir welding, FSW has been promising easy operation and environmental stewardship through contact friction between the tool and the weld part. The Aluminum alloy 2024-T351 was used in both working pieces. Six processes in FSW may include sticking, plunging into the welding pieces, half and full sliding, full welding along the joint line for the weld to be created, and spacing when picking away the welding tool from the weld. In determining the weld quality, their values should be within a safe range during the welding process, to derive heat from friction, modifying the parameters of the process causes variation in force in the traverse and axial directions. The ability to measure forces and understand their relationship with welding parameters is essential to a successful FSW energy strategy. The analytical models presented in this study depict each welding phase as it occurs and can be applied to predict welding forces and the heat energies.

The modeling, simulation and control strategy of a hybrid power system (HPS) integrating a wind energy conversion system(WECS) and a solar photovoltaic system (SPV). The model includes wind turbine, photovoltaic panels, permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), power converters and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers. A supervisory control unit, designed to execute maximum power point tracking (MPPT), is introduced to maximize the simultaneous energy harvesting from overall power generation under different climatic conditions. Two contingencies are considered and categorized according to the power generation from each energy source, and the load requirement. In PV system Perturb & Observe (P&O) algorithm is used as control logic for the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller and Hill Climb Search (HCS) algorithm is used as MPPT control logic for the Wind power system in order to maximizing the power generated. The dynamic behavior of the proposed HPS is examined under different conditions based on wind speed variation and solar radiations. The developed HPS consists of a 50 W photovoltaic panel and 300 W wind turbine. The resultant model offers a good strategy to ensure power reliability under all conditions using renewable energies. A Simulinkmodel of the proposed Hybrid system with the MPPT controlled Boost converters and Voltage regulated Inverter for stand- alone application is developed in MATLAB.

Avionic bay equipment tends to malfunction or fail out rightly when they operate in an environment with temperature outside the required range. Thus, it becomes imperative to device means by which this temperature may be controlled. In this paper, Boeing 747 (B747) aircraft is taken as a case study. Boeing 747 utilizes cooling from the Environmental control system (ECS) to control avionics temperature. This is however a very expensive process for the aircraft in terms of fuel consumption and weight increase. The modelling, numerical simulation and intelligent control of the ECS are performed in this study by comparing the ambient temperature and desired avionics temperature range per time. The model equation is obtained based on the principles of heat transfer using First law of thermodynamics. The simulation of the developed Internal Model Control (IMC) based Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) model is done using MATLAB 8.5 (R2018a). The parameters of the PID controller are tuned using IMC. A comparative analysis with other tuning techniques such as ZieglerNichols (Z-N) and Cohen-Coon (CC) was also carried out. The performance evaluation of the methods is done using rise time, settling time and percentage overshoot as metrics. Results obtained from the analysis are presented in a graphical and tabular format, which shows that the developed IMC-PID controller model could be of significance to the Avionic Engineers as it gives better results compared with the conventional ZN-PID and CC-PID controller models.

Singing bowl/Himalayan bowl is a type of standing bell played by rubbing its rim with a wooden mallet. They produce a variety of vibrations to reinstate the natural frequencies of unhealthy and out-of-tone parts responsible for thoughts, emotions and behaviours. The electrical impulses released in the brain during the communication of neurons are known as brain waves. In this work, sixty-five trained subjects of various categories play the singing bowl, and their EEG signal values are taken before playing, during the playing of the bowl and after playing. The signals are recorded during the above durations. Various brain signals (delta, theta, low alpha, high alpha, low beta, high beta and gamma), are observed and analysed for this purpose. These waves are ranked for each instance. The contribution of brain waves at each rank before and after playing the bowl are compared to extract the impact of singing bowl playing on the brain.

In this study, we analyzed and predicted the software development cost applicable to system solutions based on the lifetime distribution of the Gamma family (Erlang and Log-Logistic) which is widely utilized in the field of software reliability testing together with the Goel-Okumoto basic model. Also, the optimal development cost model was suggested through these analysis results. For this, software failure time data was used, the parametric calculation was applied to the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method, and nonlinear equations were solved by a numerical method (bisection method). As a result, First, the cost curve shape of all proposed models decreased in the initial stage but continuously increased in the later stage because the probability of finding the remaining defects is gradually lowered. Second, if the cost of eliminating a single defect found in the testing process increased, the development cost also increased, but the release time did not change. Third, if the defect correction cost discovered by the operator during the operation stage increased, the development cost at the time of release is increased, and the release time is also delayed. Also, it was confirmed that the Erlang distribution model showed the best performance because it has a lower software development cost and a faster release time point than the proposed other models. Through this study, the software development cost of the Gamma family distribution without the existing research examples was newly analyzed. Therefore, we were able to present software developers with the necessary information to predict the economic software development cost and the optimal release time.

The use of renewable energies, mainly wind and photovoltaic, are sources of generation that have spread worldwide by micro-grids. In places where the implementation of electric grids is inaccessible or economically not feasible, the installation of wind micro-turbines and photovoltaic systems for electricity generation and water pumping systems has been implemented; however, renewable energies have not yet been used in some rural areas due to the lack of studies and initiatives of their own. In the present study, in situ measurements have been used to evaluate the wind potential in rural town and the application for micro-turbine. Through the Weibull Distribution, an analysis of the wind energy potential available in the area has been carried out incorporating commercial wind micro-turbines and energy cost analysis. The favorable wind levels and the nominal speed values of commercial turbines have allowed obtaining the capacity factor values and energy costs, which allowed determining the feasibility of the installation of wind micro-turbines to provide electric energy to the habitants of this town.

The usage of filter is inevitable in most of the electronics devices to reject all unwanted high frequencies of electrical signal & pass the desired signal and for this purpose a precision filter is to be used in the input stage of the device. In an R-C Low Pass Filter capacitive reactance varies with the applied frequency of the input signal. When the applied frequency of the input signal increases the capacitive reactance is decreased and high frequency signal is bypassed to the ground through the capacitor. But in the case of FIR Low Pass Filter, the unwanted high frequency signal is suppressed with the help of filter coefficients. The desired output of an FIR Low Pass Filter can be obtained when the sample values of the input signal are instantaneously processed with the corresponding coefficient values. This case study shows that the initial value h(0) of the filter coefficients has a vital role to achieve the desired filter output. Though initial value h(0) is undefined and can be calculated by L. Hospitals’ Rule after multiplication with a window function.

The gas mixture N2:SF6 has been used in gas insulated switchgears, gas insulated transmission lines and gas insulated cables for years in order to reduce the use of SF6 gas in electrical system. By taking into account the insulation performance and environmental effect, it is advised that the use of N2:SF6 gas mixture in practical to lower the SF6 gas content as far as possible. The present study is undertaken using different N2:SF6 gas mixture ratio to determine the flashover characteristics under AC voltages. In this paper the effect of floating particles, use of different insulating spacers namely PMMA, PP and NYLON and their combination forms hybrid spacers has been studied in non-uniform electric field (needle – plane) electrode configuration. The surface flashover performances of individual and hybrid spacers have been compared in N2:SF6 gas mixture. The experimental results shows that conventional spacer PMMA show better performance than the other spacers (PP and NYLON) at the gas pressure of 0.18MPa. As the gas pressure increases further the flashover voltage values slightly decreases. The hybrid spacer PMMA – PP are more effective at lower pressure than other spacer combinations. With floating particle, PP shows better flashover at lower pressure and the performance of PMMA – NYLON is much better at lower pressure.

In India, Reliance JIO created a promotional buzz by making broadband internet & supplementary digital services no longer a luxury item. It actually converted these two things into a basic necessity that can be consumed in abundance, thereby not only impacting the telecommunication sector but also the common people, small and large businesses, & ultimately the Indian economy as a whole. JIO entered the telecommunication business like a boss, but the whistles and applause that greeted it obscured the fact that by one measure, the company’s debt climbed to at least a 15 year high. Moreover, it sparked a vicious price war in the world’s second largest mobile phone market. Nevertheless, as Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited had described JIO as a jewel among Reliance assets, it actually helped the entire group immensely during the Coronavirus pandemic. This paper mainly includes the preliminary impact of JIO on the telecommunication industry, its impact on competitors, how it became a helpful hand in digitalization, its impact on the Indian economy as a whole, and finally the various marketing strategies used by JIO to draw the common people towards it in the beginning of its journey.

The convergence of advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and BigData with medical technology also has changed medical services significantly. Particularly digital healthcare services have developed in the untact settings by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to examine factors that affect the usefulness of such digital health care services perceived by users and their use satisfaction. The study defines the ‘personal influence factor, ‘information quality factor,’ and ‘social impact factor’ that affect digital healthcare service use and empirically analyzes the effects of such factors on perceived usefulness and use satisfaction. A survey was conducted among 364 individuals who used digital healthcare services in Korea, and then statistical analysis results were derived. Hence analysis results show that personal influence factors and social impact factors positively affected perceived usefulness while information quality factors did not. In addition, it turned out that personal influence factors and information quality factors had positive effects on use satisfaction while social impact factors did not affect use satisfaction. The above-stated results suggest that when it comes to digital healthcare service, personal influence factors concerning the experience of product or service use affected perceived usefulness and use satisfaction, social impact factors affected perceived usefulness, and information quality factors affected use satisfaction to a significant degree.

The paper tests the influence of the application of the ‘meaning of the living moment’ in a complex, and unstable world. Studies reviewed show that without meaning, individuals and communities are more likely to fail to capture the profound knowledge that any complexity could bring. The implication of this study is that it addresses a missing element that is not well addressed when dealing with or planning to deal with the rising mental health issues, that is realising the essence and the meaning of the moment during challenging times. The conclusion shed a new path that could lead to the enhancement, readiness and availability of a more agile generation that turns the suffering into sources of hardiness and tolerance through the emphasis on the meaning or purpose of living. This could even turn what is seen as sources of suffering into niches for new opportunities.

Multidisciplinary thinking approaches, or holistic thinking, provides a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and solve chronic issues that come from a range of different subjects through the deeper understanding of patterns that are common between different complex issues. This type of thinking is important when dealing with complex problems like poverty elimination, or socioeconomic stability in a country that just came out of 40 years of war, like Afghanistan. In this research, we investigate how multidisciplinary thinking approaches would address the new Afghanistan basic needs and enhance its capacity to address the needs of the poor and the vulnerable.

Rice is the chief food for about two billion people living in Asia. It has been stated to contain substantial quantity of inorganic arsenic which is noxious to pancreatic beta cells and disturb glucose homeostasis. Millions of consumers around the world may have high Arsenic (As) ingestion from imported rice and rice-based foods, due to the rapid expansion of the global food trade. Arsenic revelation has been linked with enhanced blood glucose and insulin levels, or reduced sensitization of insulin cells to glucose uptake. Arsenic is present in diverse oxidative statuses in the atmosphere and enters in the food chain through soil and water. In the agronomic field, irrigation with arsenic contaminated water, having a greater level of arsenic contamination on the topsoil, affect the quality of crop production. The chief crop like rice (Oryza sativa L.) entails huge amount of water throughout its lifecycle. Rice plants possibly accumulate arsenic, predominantly inorganic arsenic (iAs) from the field, in diverse body parts including grains. Inorganic As varieties are carcinogenic to humans and even at low levels in the diet sham a significant risk to individuals. Extreme accepted daily intake of arsenic accumulated rice (2.1 µg/day kg body weight) has been fixed by WHO, which may be outdone responsible on its content in rice and amount consumed. Hence, enhanced dominance of diabetes in South Asia may be allied to the ingesting of arsenic contaminated rice. In this work, we have focused on the likely relation between rice consumption, arsenic accumulation, and risk assessment in South Asia.

The purpose of this article is to explain that Normalization Theory is the foundation of Blockchain technology. Blockchain is a partial barter system. An entire barter system facilitates the trade directly between participants without using a medium of exchange, such as money. However, there is a need for an administrative entity with the Blockchain system to guarantee a seller will get credit and the buyer will receive promised delivery such as goods or services. Thus, the organizational entity's role is minimal and promotes trust among transaction parties by guaranteeing the sellers' and buyers' promises. While some researchers focused on describing Blockchain mechanics, others concentrated on the benefits of Blockchain technology. One common characteristic of most writing on Blockchain is that Normalization Theory discussions are neglected or marginalized or completely absent. Such an omission is mysterious; a cursory glance at the literature reveals the need to understand Normalization Theory's role as the foundation of Blockchain is lacking. Without Normalization Theory, there are no Blockchain applications. The central assertion of Blockchain is that contracts could be executed faster than processed by a Bank, which is the middle institution between the two parties. The direct contract between the sellers and the buyers would eventually strengthen the relationship. The security is enhanced since any change in a contract would trigger creating a new agreement. The premise of Blockchain is that all parties in a contract fulfill their obligations. Blockchains are decentralized transactions, and a trade could be initiated by a member of the group, which requires certification by most of the members. Along with diminishing the cost of a transaction, Blockchain reduces the role of Banks. It accelerates contract creation, execution, completion, or cancellation through Database tables' design using Normalization Theory.

Definition − Cartoons have been in the industry since the middle ages and are now emerging into an upgraded version of themselves, widely referred to as caricatures. Caricatures are mainly used to interpolate humor and satire in advertisements or comics. A gradual shift from cartoons to caricatures took place mainly due to the liveliness and realism of the representations generated. In the initial years of transformation into this newly developed area, artists used to manually draw the caricatures. However, with the advent of digitalization, in a short time span, various software was launched in the market to automate the process. They did save a lot of time, but the quality was hampered. Thus, the main objective of this paper is to present a comparative study of different methodologies to determine and implement the best model for automatic caricature generation that will not only save time but also consider various aspects of facial representation.

The paper is mainly based on detecting the earthquake and to save the life of differently abled person during an earthquake. At the time of Earthquake people use to go to safer place but wheel chair users or physically disabled people have to face lots of difficulties if they are alone in the house. They have to face lots of hardships if they are unable to walk and can’t use their hands even. So, this paper is an attempt to mitigate those hardships of people who are on wheel chair. In this paper a simple earthquake detector and rescuer system using Arduino UNO board, Arduino Mega and a highly sensitive accelerometer is presented that can sense a decrepit vibration as well. Then it generates a signal to give an indication to the physically challenged person to evacuate as soon as he can. This paper states that evacuation at the time of earthquake is possible for differently a bled person by using his brain power/meditation power. This is possible by using a Brain wave technology device called mind wave mobile. He can move his wheel chair by his brain. There is also a use of GSM messaging mechanisms and GPS navigating mechanism to send a message alert in the cell phone of any nearby guardian who can help that physically disabled person (if he needs it) when the earthquake is detected. If the physically disabled person cannot use his mind wave due to some reason at the time of earthquake, then a guardian nearby again receives a SMS along with location so that he can rescue that physically disabled person.

Drought forecasting is considering an important tool to help the decision makers. Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is a tool, which was primarily developed to identify meteorological drought and wet events by using only series of monthly rainfall. The autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models were developed to fit and forecasting both the SPI series and precipitation data. As the land station data at the selected stations in Ethiopia is not available/ cost expensive after the year 2010, therefore the satellite image data, which is available and less costly, is used after correction using the available land data. The land station data for the stations which have more than 30 years land data recorded are used to correct the deviation in the satellite image data. After comparing the land station data and the satellite image data three stations are selected. The selected stations have overlap between both satellite and land stations data for more than 16 years. SPSS program was used to analyses and forecasting the data. As a result, it is concluded that forecasting using SPSS program is recommending for both drought and precipitation using ARIMA model.

Rivers are the main source of water and life to humans so all of their activities are located on its banks. River navigation is one of the most important activities in current ages. Navigation bottlenecks are appeared and conventional solution is occurred to try to mitigate this problem. Dredging is currently used as a temporary work but some of bottlenecks are repeated again at most regions and needed to periodic maintenance. This research shows that each zone of bottleneck has special properties. The relationship between morphological changes (such as bends, island form, changes of bed level and river width) and appearance of bottlenecks in Nile Rivers. The human interventions in the study reach are determined and studied its impacts on navigational path. Data are collected and delft 3d model is used to simulate study reach from kilometer 462 to 498 U.S. Roda gauge. Nine zones of navigational bottlenecks were appeared in 1982 in minimum discharge case but eight zones were appeared in 2010 in normal case and after prediction of model for seven year. Four zones are appeared after using dredging process and prediction by delft 3d model, where three of them are determined in last report of observed navigation bottlenecks at 2017-2018 therefore this model can be applied to large area in Nile river and predication of navigation problems in the future. In average discharge case, minimum value of longitudinal velocity is revealed at location of bottlenecks so it caused of sedimentation in these zones.

Concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world. Shortage of water is perhaps the most critical environmental problem in several countries. Fresh water accounts for only (2.5%) of the Earth’s water. The concrete industry alone uses over one trillion gallons of water each year worldwide. In addition, the use of water for industrial purposes increases. Therefore, it is essential to conduct research of substitution of potable water by reclaimed water partially or totally to produce concrete. Works included intensive laboratory experiments, preparing concrete cubes with sewage treatment plant water from dif erent stages of the treatment process and dif erent percentage in the formulation of concrete mixtures. The plan is to test reclaimed water samples in dif erent blending with potable water 20%, 50%, and 100% sewage treatment water. Compressive strength, for concrete cubes. Compressive strength for cylinders and flexural strength for beams were casted for 3, 7, 21, 28, 56 and 92 days. Results showed that the treated water tested in this study qualifies to be used in mixing concrete. Hence results suggested the secondary treated waste, and the tertiary treated waste water are appropriate for using in construction industry. For making concrete, the suggested wastewater treatment unit processes secondary treatment and disinfection, are (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) (BOD5 ≤ 30mg/l), (Total Suspended Solids) (TSS≤30mg/l), fecal coliforms (≤200 CFU/100ml), and Cl2 residual (1mg/l Cl2 residual (minimum). Briefly, the results showed that, Tertiary treated waste water (TTWW) produced from waste water treatment plants in Egypt, is found to be suitable for mixing concrete to use in construction material with no adverse effects.

This study aims to model construction projects cost and time overruns, with the specific objectives of identifying the causes and effects of cost and schedule overruns in construction projects. This is because the concept of construction projects cost and schedule overruns has attracted much attention in recent years and that researchers and research bodies, be it corporate or government that try to formulate remedies to projects cost and schedule overruns should begin with an understanding of the causes of these overruns and their effects to the construction industry as a whole. Since, time and cost performance are the fundamental criteria for success of any project. The project management technique for tracking the most critical factors that af ect the project’s overruns of planned schedule and planned budget using tools and developed software are helpful in comparing the project with stipulated time and cost. This research investigates ranking factors from two questionnaires to compute the severity index among various construction projects and ranked each factor according to the percentages of each factor occurrence. Two models constructed using Linear regression (LR) and machine learning (Support Vector Machine) is one of the artificial intelligence systems to fit the given data for all construction projects. First model is developed for time overrun prediction with high accuracy and second model is developed for cost overrun for various construction projects. Check the performance and accuracy of the predicting model by some certain projects of time and cost projects data and check the variation of the results between the actual results and predicted results.

Purpose - Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes are becoming a driving force for advancing the design, construction and operation of buildings that may have the potential to reduce claims, disputes and litigation throughout the construction process. However, evidence shows that BIM isn’t universally successful. To this end, this research aims to identify the most common BIM contractual risks (BCR). Design/Methodology/approach - This research intends to go further into about 22 BIM Contractual Risks that have been identified from the literature review. A questionnaire survey was made to identify the risks occurrence rate, involved parties and solutions for highest faced risks based on number of participants and their years of experience. Result analysis was based on experience years for each participant’s vs each risk’s parameters. Findings - The presented process mitigates the construction project participant’s ability to complete the construction project under BIM collaborative environment and contracts isolation nature through the following: (1) identification and examination of about 22 BIM contractual risks, level of occurrence and solutions; (2) provide a BIM contractual framework that allows for defining each party’s responsibility in BIM workflow. Research Limitations – Due to diversity in construction project, BIM based projects require an additional drafting method to the contract and provide an understanding of each party’s responsibility by analyzing legal implication of BIM adoption. In addition, local legislation can provide the support needed for BIM implementations. Practical implications – Findings’ implication suggests providing a legal understanding of BIM work flow through the investigation of BIM risks among construction project’s parties and providing a contractual framework either in the BIM execution plan BEP or in the employer information request EIR. The presented BIM framework mitigates the likelihood of these risks rising into disputes. Originality/value – While there have been publications that investigate BIM contractual risks, they mainly provide guidelines of the risks and solutions. The following publication propose a thorough examination of BIM contractual risks, introduce a BIM framework based on industry’s experts experience and the specification required in the contract, BIM execution plan regulation and legal background needed for BIM adaptation in a construction project.

This paper is focused on studying the factors affecting the productivity of excavation works in Jordan. In order to investigate this target, a questionnaire was designed considering the most important factors that were proposed in the literature, then distributed to 55 of experts and contractors. Accordingly, the collected data was analyzed using SPSS software in order to evaluate those factors and to arrange them based on their importance sequence. In general, several major factors affect the productivity of excavation works in construction projects. In this research, five of those factors were selected and studied, evaluated, and concluded to be the most major factors that could influence the productivity of excavation works for construction projects in Jordan, and could significantly affect the cost and time of carrying out the project. Accordingly, the results of this research showed that the increase in the productivity for excavation works is related to taking into account the factors recommended according to their priority, in which the first of these was the "the types and readiness of the excavation machines", followed by (in descending order) "the geological nature of the site", "the project site investigation", "the technical expertise specialized in carrying out excavation works", and "the financial liquidity and the payment of dues".

The rise in the number of Pakistanis working abroad has created an important source of monetary flows for the country. In Pakistan, the remittances are one of the major sources of foreign exchange earnings. One of the determinants of remittances is the geographical distance between the home country and the country where Pakistanis are working. In this paper, we inquire whether the geographical distance between two countries affects two-sided remittances by using panel data of 23 major destinations from 2001 to 2017. We find that there is a significant impact of geographical distance on remittances that Pakistan receives. The positive and significant coefficient between remittance and geographical distance confirms that Pakistani migrants who are working in far locations remit more JEL Classification: F22; F24; C23; O53

Mamata'r Chithi is one of the very few poems in which the Eliot's belief-that poetry is understood before it is communicated-is thoroughly illustrated. This poem can be read as a grim and painful commentary on withered love of an Indian widow. Here the poet candidly captures the 'longing for loneliness' of a beautiful widow tormented both by her separation from her husband as well as by an unfriendly world. In our Indian societies, a widow's life is not a world of love and affection. After her husband's dead it is now a merely a routine and diseased existence infected with mundane material obligations. The narrator letter-writer tries to escape the hard realities of life while being in a dream world by nostalgically recalling her Conjugal life.

Fluid flow dynamics inside an engine combustion cylinder permits a better cylinder combustion, engine performance and efficiency. The In-Cylinder model of the software ANSYS Fluent is used in this paper to simulate 3D air motion with fuel combustion. The flow phantasm can create a 3D geometry andalso the numerical analysis by using CFD results. By doing like this, we have a chance to compare different designs and this comparisonhelps to determine the best suited optimal designs. The engine used for this combustion simulation is a simple straight valve engine with two intakeand two exhaustvalves. The piston moments can be visualized through the animation andvelocity magnitude curves are plotted for crank angle starting from 570 to 833. The engine is simulated for only working stroke/combustion stroke. The text file is written in working directory containing swirl, x-tumble, y-tumble and moment of inertia as a function of CA. This tool automatically creates animations for mesh on cut plane, temperature on ice cut plane and velocity magnitude on ice cut plane. These created counters and graphs can show the performance of the engine used.
