Digital Platform

Cet article s’intéresse à l’évolution des modes de régulation de l’accès des jeunes à l’enseignement supérieur en France en partant du postulat que ces modes relaient des conceptions spécifiques de l’ordre social (conservatrices ou progressistes) et de l’égalité (libérales ou sociales). L’analyse porte sur les procédures et les normes associées aux deux plateformes numériques de gestion des candidatures qui se sont succédé ces dix dernières années, Admission Post-Bac (APB) et Parcoursup, en soulignant les éléments de continuité et de changement. Il en ressort que ces plateformes ont en commun d’entretenir la stratification de l’enseignement supé- rieur français et son rôle dans la reproduction des inégalités tout en introduisant de nouvelles dimensions à tonalité plus marchande. Ces dimensions sont plus présentes dans la plateforme Parcoursup qui encourage explicitement les bacheliers à se com- porter en sujets marchands et les universités à adopter les modes de recrutement des filières sélectives.

Tourism is sustained by the amalgamation of several types of industries, stakeholders, and unskilled
people to the skilled person thereby, it offers opportunities for rural entrepreneurship to the local
community. Rural tourism entrepreneurship is concerned with offering local products and services to
tourists. The digitalization process have reached to all segments of tourism business which can be
witnessed in case of Destination marketing organisations and State tourism departments of India.
This paper focuses on promotion of rural tourism entrepreneurship through different digital platforms
in India. It is an explorative study and uses secondary data sources from government reports,
research papers to present the requirement, process and benefit of digital promotion of rural tourism
products and services. It highlights the products and services of rural tourism and government aids to
promote such entrepreneurial activities. The paper concludes that digital platforms offer benefits of
content generation and user engagement in order to reach a larger audience. It is also found helpful in
collecting feedback and suggestions from tourists. It offers suggestions to adopt select digital
platforms and their special benefits to the rural tourism entrepreneurs.

Two‐sided markets and digital platforms are becoming increasingly relevant in the modern scenario. Companies like Airbnb and Uber are inspiring many other firms in different fields that share their basic structure: they match two (or more) groups of customers. This research aims at exploring the innovation strategies companies such as these rely on to expand their basic structure towards more complex models. Being inspired by previous models in the field and considering the role that big data seems to play in these businesses, a first conceptual model is presented. Therefore, 100 companies—using mobile apps as the empirical setting—are explored in this research to understand the common behaviors concerning evolution. In the end, three strate- gies are presented: Supply (Side) Expansion, Transactional Advertising, and Data Trad- ing. These strategies are further discussed to highlight two main directions of innovation—ecosystem innovation and data push innovation—which may be merged giving birth to multi‐sided epiphanies. The paper contributes to the literature showing various strategies and their implication to foster innovation on two‐sided platforms. Moreover, it shows possible ways to exploit the value embedded in the complex eco- systems of the relationships they create.

Belgesel film, en yalın tanımı ile yönetmenin gerçekliği kendi yaratıcılığı ile kaydettiği bir film biçimidir. Belgeseller, içinde yaşanılan dünyanın sahici bir temsilini izleyiciye sunmaktadır. Bu film biçimi, tarihsel süreçten günümüze teknoloji ile kurduğu ilişki neticesinde değişmekte ve yenilenmektedir. Robert Flaherty, Dziga Vertov ve John Grierson gibi öncü belgeselcilerle başlayan süreç, 1960’larda teknikte meydana gelen gelişmelerle Cinéma Vérité, Doğrudan Sinema, Özgür Sinema ve Arı- Göz Sinema Hareketleri ile yeni bir belgesel biçimini almıştır. Taşınabilir kamera ve taşınabilir ses kayıt cihazları ile yönetmenler özgürleşmiş ve sinemadaki finansman sorunları nedeniyle belgeseller televizyonda gösterilmiştir. Bu yenilenme neticesinde sinemada begesel film, televizyonda televizyon belgeseli ismini alan bu biçim, dijital platformlarda yeni bir isim almaktadır. Günümüzde yeni medya ve izleyici, dijital platformdaki belgesellerin yapım pratiklerini, biçim ve içeriğini belirlemektedir. Dijital platformlarda belgeseller, dinamik bir görsel-işitsel dil benimsemektedir. Bu yeni belgesel dili, gözleme dayalı çekim, aktüel ve hareketli kamera, doğal aydınlatma, yakın planlar, hızlı, sık çekimli, jump cut’lı, dinamik müzik ve dinamik kurgu prensiplerinden oluşmaktadır.
Bu çalışmada dijital platformların belgesel film yapım ve gösterim pratikleri, BluTV ortak özel yapım belgeselleri örneğinde incelenerek dijital platformlardaki yeni belgesel dilinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada sosyal bilimlerde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda BluTV ve birlikte çalıştığı yapımcı ve yönetmenlerle görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir.

People become stronger as a result of digitalization, which allows them to save both time and money. The digital world blurs the lines between countries and brings individuals closer together. There is no need to go to a store to purchase a product or service; all it takes is a single click. Organizations are developing strategies to reach out to potential customers using digital platforms, which make it simple for them to reach out to the largest number of people. Buyers may now simply compare products on the basis of quality and pricing. Customers' purchasing decisions are also influenced by product availability. This study show that how digitalization influence customer buying behaviour, this study focus on some factors (reliability of digital information, easy access of websites, online digital communication source) which play important role for influencing the customers for buying product through digital platform. This study was conducted in Haridwar (Jwalapur, Kankhal, Sidkul) and sample size was 50. A questionnaire was prepared and based on some factors which influence customer buying behaviour.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a drastic increase in the use of digital platform-based subscription services and to a number of online subscription services based on such industries as OTT video streaming, digital news and media, and elearning. This study aims to identify the factors for purchase motives among users of digital platform-based subscription services and to empirically determine the perceived benefits and risk factors of the motives affecting purchase intention and continuous consumption among users. To do this, five motives for using online subscription services—social, convenient, hedonic, economic, and innovative motives—were identified and 434 online subscription service users in South Korea were sampled and analyzed. Of these motives, a hedonic motive was found to enhance perceived benefits and have the greatest impact on purchase intention. This is followed by convenient and hedonic motives, which users perceived as positive benefits. The factors affecting perceived risk were social and innovative factors, indicating that consumers distinguish social effects and innovative factors as risks in online subscription service. This study is expected to have specific implications for companies in terms of subscription services strategy for recurring profits, instead of customers' one-time purchases.

The fundamental goal of the project presented in this document is related to the lack of academic attention that City Museums have had and the insipience of their resort to the World Wide Web: to present a proposal for a digital platform through the development of Public Art itineraries.
Its theoretical bases were formulated through an applied, quantitative, qualitative, exploratory, documental and bibliographical research. This work resulted in the improvement of the datasheets of touristic itineraries through the “Local History” and the “Economic Activities”. It also resulted in “Vintage Aveiro”, another website which aims to call people’s attention to the development of the city and has the potential to promote the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage through the awareness of the needs of its conservation.
The solutions presented in this project are scalable because they allow the creation of more itineraries and offer low cost of implementation because of the “Open Source” tools they use. This project shows that getting close to and communicating and interacting with their audience are pressing issues for the City Museums and in order to achieve these goals they must implement an effective and efficient online presence.

This paper aims to map the negotiation mechanisms used by Banco Palmas in order to make Palmas Digital possible as a community digital bank in the Conjunto Palmeiras’ neighbourhood, state of Ceará, Brazil. Palmas Digital represents an alternative way to offer financial services in a network of community banks that was enabled by a digital payment platform called e-Dinheiro. Using a multilevel framework model proposed in Pozzebon & Diniz (2012), we seek to understand the interplay between different actors and technological artefacts in order to understand the “technology-in-practice”, concept defined by Orlikowski (2000). The multilevel framework model was built to understand social consequences of information and communication technologies (ICT) interactions at a community level.

В данной статье рассматриваются эффекты «цифрового поворота» в исторической науке, изменения в повестке дня исторической информатики, соотношение исследовательских полей исторической информатики и цифровой истории, в том числе в контексте быстро развивающегося направления «цифровых гуманитарных наук». Рассмотрены возможные варианты влияния «цифрового поворота» на структуру научного знания, определены связи «цифрового поворота» с исследовательскими практиками, обобщаются дискуссии об ориентирах технологического влияния на исторические исследования, представлено определение цифровой платформы как инфраструктурного решения объединения аналитической и ресурсной составляющих исторической информатики. На основе историографических наблюдений и рассмотрения новейших исторических цифровых проектов фиксируются изменения в области исторического знания. Предпринята попытка установить возможные эпистемологические последствия «цифрового поворота» в исторических исследованиях, его влияние на исторические эвристику, критику и интерпретацию. В статье последовательно даны ответы на вопросы редакции журнала «Историческая информатика» о ключевых тенденциях, изменениях и переживаниях сообщества исследователей, применяющих информационные технологии в исторических трудах. Рассмотрены варианты методологического понимания сути «цифрового поворота», а также на основе метафоры лабиринта даны возможные варианты дальнейшего пути вооруженного достижениями исторической информатики исследователя к новому доказанному знанию.

The article discusses effects of the “digital turn” in history, changes in the historical information science agenda, ratio of historical information science and digital history research fields in the context of rapidly developing digital humanities as well. The author also studies the impact of the “digital turn” on the structure of historical knowledge and its relation to research practice, summarizes discussions about benchmarks of technological influence on historical research and defines digital platform as an infrastructure solution combining analytical and resource components of historical research. On the basis of historiographical observations and consideration of the latest historical digital projects the author traces important changes in the field of historical knowledge. An attempt is made to find possible epistemological consequences of the “digital turn” in historical research, its impact on historical heuristics, criticism and interpretation. The article answers the questions of the editorial board of “Istoricheskaya Informatika” journal about the key trends, changes and experiences of the research community using information technology in historical studies. The author considers methodological understanding of the “digital turn” and by means of a labyrinth metaphor predicts further steps of a researcher to new evidence-based knowledge when he is armed with historical information science achievements.

In the era of open and lifelong learning, learners can learn by themselves without the limit of time and place. Focusing on lifelong learning and make learning society, the new learning resources nowadays has been developed in a form of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), lifelong learning platform that responds to learner in digital society. South Korea is a country that constantly develops policies and innovations to promote lifelong learning. a Digital Learning Platform and Lifelong Learning Innovation by National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE) called “K-MOOC” consisting of 1) Homepage 2) Course and Course description 3) Lectures 4) Examination 5) Assignments 6) Discussion forums and 7) Certification. That changes the atmosphere and learning ecosystem from traditional online platform in the past to enabling participating and interacting with lecturers and other learners, including quizzes and assignments. It can also network with leading universities in the country. This innovation is beneficial to create a learning ecosystem that is conducive to the development of human potential in the digital society.

Digital Platforms impose organizing logics on ecosystems. Dependent on their configuration, they enable certain practices, relationships, and value distribution among actors while preventing alternatives. Incumbent platforms often have a strong power to implement contested configurations since they control access to attractive user groups/markets. However, emerging platforms have a small degree of bargaining power in relation to key actors since they have not yet achieved such a position. Although numerous studies detail governance strategies for incumbent platform ecosystems, research on how platform providers navigate competing concerns in emerging platform ecosystems remain rare. We report on a study of the establishment and continuous dynamics of a digital platform used for service innovation. We inductively identify a pattern of the dynamics in this navigation process, locate four salient tensions driving these dynamics, and provide insights on how the platform provider navigated them.

In recent years the urban public space has become the largest casual sports infrastructure in cities and suburbs. WHO establishes a direct relationship between the Active Healthy City, social cohesion of communities and public space. This approach provides a framework for research and work on the design of the city and urban space as support for this sport practice. Moreover, new technologies provide an opportunity to promote the sport in the city.
“Malaga Activa” digital platform project is an initiative that wants to promote the informal sport practice on the urban public space (outside the regulated sports facilities) and healthy living in the neighborhoods of the city of Malaga. This paper presents the results of the first phase of the project identifying the active sport areas in the public space -those in which physical and casual sport activities take place-. It also includes a methodology for the analisys and promotion of public space as an activator of phsycal activity, which includes a performance test of the created digital platform, as well as an assessment of the experience and possible improvements to be incorporated in the successive phases of the project

This article focuses on the creation of an innovate network of licenses and labels delivered through an accessible, educational, and informative digital platform aimed specifically at the complex intellectual property needs of Indigenous peoples, communities, and collectives wishing to manage, maintain, and preserve their digital cultural heritage. The Traditional Knowledge (TK) Licenses and Labels answer a grassroots, global call by Indigenous communities, archivists, museum specialists, and activists for an alternative to traditional copyright for the varied needs of Indigenous communities and the cultural materials they steward. Local Contexts is a project and educational website dedicated to the production of new intellectual property frameworks for Indigenous materials that depart from colonial histories of collection and Western legal frameworks.

This catalogue presents projects initiated by the 2019 class of the Experimental Publishing master course (XPUB), which focuses on the acts of making things public and creating publics in the age of post-digital networks/ This version includes only the project Let’s Amplify Unspeakable Things. It is an online platform of exploration and research, regarding female voices in public and their amplification. It creates a space for excluded voices to be explored, that questions the establishment of authoritative voices — which construct exclusive speech platforms and binaries, along the assumption that voices have to be rational in public dialogues.

The article considers the relevance of the introduction of digital technologies in
various sectors of the economy. The work also speaks about the role of digital platforms
in shaping the modern economy, including the commercialization of R&D results. The
main goal of the research is to determine the methodological approaches to the
selection and organization of a network structure to support technology transfer. The
article formulates the task of ensuring the scientific and technological cooperation of
the subjects involved in the process of R&D commercialization and proposed an agentbased
analysis model of network science and technology cooperation as a solution. The
method of combined formation and evaluation of the effectiveness of scientific and
technological cooperation of structures is proposed.

As the world population is getting older, healthcare expenditure in many countries are increased due to the fact that more people become vulnerable to various health problems. Because of this, elderly people are encouraged to live independently in their own home as long as possible. Promoting independence to elderly people will not be possible without support from society, including voluntary caretakers who took care of elderly people. Hence, it is believed that the health and wellbeing platform as an example of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) could be beneficial to achieving independent living. Nevertheless, the potential impact of such a platform is relatively unknown since this type of platform is still lacking in the market. In addition, availability of such a platform does not guarantee that elderly people will gain any value from it. Therefore, this research aimed to apply the concept of the capability approach to examine why and how ICT, in particular the health and wellbeing platform, can contribute to achieve independent living of elderly people. To do so, we conducted a case study on a health and wellbeing platform in the Netherlands through secondary data analysis and interviews with potential end-users. Our findings showed that such a platform could contribute in achieveing independent living by enabling certain capabilities (find products & services, find activities, manage daily activities, stay connected with others, monitor conditions, arrange help for others) for either elderly people or voluntary caretakers. Enablements of these capabilities are influenced by variety of conversion factors, namely individual characteristics (age, health condition, technological knowledge), individual perception (perceived ease of use, expected benefits, need for technology, satisfaction level), and social contexts (recommendation from closest people & healthcare stakeholders). Our findings provide insights on how this platform could become an intervention tool to support government policies in encouraging elderly people to live independently at home. Moreover, our study also adds another perspective on how to operationalize the capability approach in the comprehensive view of elderly, ICT, and healthcare.

The following pages propose an analysis of the platform’s content in its residential architecture section, an analysis that supports a critical reflection on its wider cultural effects.

Traditional conventions of planning cause fragmentation of urban spaces and functions, imposing
a degree of inflexible and brittle order, increasing the risk of segregation, gentrification and
dispersion. This impacts the social and economic balance of the city, which is a salient aspect
for better urban health and sustainable development. The research aims to modify planning
conventions by creating a framework to measure socio-economic imbalances and a protocol
to design proposals for wellbeing. G.I.S. mapping and statistical methods of box-plotting and
normal distribution are used to measure performances and identify deficient sites with higher
inequality. The research develops a matrix of programmatic interventions in relation to deficiencies
in neighborhoods. These interventions are determined based on their potential to improve the
social value and are appended to neighborhoods with respective deficiencies. Blocks within the
neighborhoods are analyzed, to select specific sites, based on their redevelopment potential. This is
measured as a factor of underutilization in terms of available and existing facilities, amenities and
population density against the factor of high cost of operation, in terms of building age and cost
of maintenance. Further, impact analysis is performed using diffusion algorithm to determine the
change in vulnerability index. This is done on both current and projected data. The framework is
lastly adapted into a digital platform for stakeholders to create development and planning policies.
The research’s strategy allows for proposing opportunities that can decrease imbalances and
inequalities, and improve the social and economic value, leading to better wellbeing of societies.

Through multi-situated and virtual ethnography, this article investigates the link between mobilities, subalternity, emotions and digital economies. Drawing on the case study of Chinese migrant women's digital labour and e-commerce in Taiwan, it elucidates the social and emotional construction of translocal virtual markets, which connect online and offline the different temporalities, spatialities and emotions of women's mobilities. In Taiwan, Chinese migrants contest a local condition of social, economic and cultural subalternity by exploring physical and digital, material and emotional markets. Setting sail through local consumption and translocal logistics, through the online application WeChat an emotional petit capitalism is socially and emotionally produced within women's daily microcosmos of experiences and practices.

Audience participation has become a catchword in politics, business and in the art world. As a matter of fact, contemporary works of art often require spectators’ involvement as a central ingredient. On the other hand, a strong emphasis has recently been put on the agency of objects. How can we make sense of this dual movement and where can we situate the contemporary work of art? One possible answer would be to explore and expose the work accomplished by the artists behind the scene. A more accurate picture of the work of art as a project could then emerge. Yet, they are two distinct understandings of the word “project”. According to the first, the project is open and the work of art active, its purpose never predefined, always uncertain. According to the second, the project functions above all as an means towards a goal, is a way to plan and to anticipate. Science and Technology Studies (STS) have long favoured the first meaning in their analysis of controversies. Drawing from this field, Re-Source, the Foundation's platform, treads between art and research, treating the work of art like a uncertain assemblage of heterogeneous ever-shifting actors in order to make visible the « œuvre à faire » (E. Souriau) instead of the ready-made work. By exploring new mode of “publiduction” (publication/production) Re-Source will not only de facto transform the artists' work but also strive to make the latter agents of this change by inventing new forms of associations.

This narrative is based on the solidarity of a recreational youth group during the COVID-19 pandemic. (Note: Youth refers to older adolescents and young adults, 17–28). The narrative describes the journey and transformation of the youth group from playing cricket to the engagement in community service during the lockdown period. This paper also presents how the presence of the group shifted from physical to a digital platform,
and the focus turned from recreation to social support; with that change in the focus, how a small group of youths turned into a larger group to mobilize and utilize resources for community service during the crisis time.

Palmas Digital represents an alternative way to offer financial services in a network of community banks that was enabled by a digital payment platform called e-Dinheiro. Using a multilevel framework model proposed in Pozzebon & Diniz (2012), we seek to understand the interplay between different actors and technological artefacts in order to understand the "technology-in-practice", concept defined by Orlikowski (2000). The multilevel framework model was built to understand social consequences of information and communication technologies (ICT) interactions at a community level.

The most conventional systems in the Urban Planning practice leave out needs and real social demands through inefficient management models in many cases. Nowadays there is a social, professional and institutional demand to transform these models into new ways of thinking and planning the city that are closer to its inhabitants. In fact, there is a high social involvement of people that are helping or developing activities in favour of their local communities. However, this social activism is not visible nor recognised as the one made by regulated associations. Undoubtedly, the use of new technologies offers a framework of opportunity in these new ways of ”making the city”, as well as it becomes a new area of work and research.

In this sense, there are many experiences that incorporate technology as a resource to promote citizen participation in the management of cities. However, only some of them are effective and achieve the goal of becoming a useful tool for citizens. In the city of Malaga, there are already some digital tools at the service of citizenship, although these require a process of revision and updating that allows optimizing existing resources and increasing their impact as a participation tool. As a first step, it is necessary to identify the agents and social initiatives of existing participation in the city.

The objective of this project is to create an interactive digital platform that shows the city of Malaga from a real social perspective, as it makes visible and map the emerging non regulated movements, neighbourhood initiatives and new urban trends with low visibility. Finally, the aim is to create a tool for collectives, associations, administrations and other urban agents to promote synergies and relationships among all of them. The incorporation of all of them is essential for the success of the platform as a participation tool. For this, a methodology of actions is established, and it begins with the identification of possible agents and the way of interaction with each one of them. The digital tool that is used is based on the use of geographic location systems.

This article collects the results of the first phase of the research project that includes a methodological proposal for mapping the real social activist reality in cities and a functional test of the digital platform created for this. Likewise, an evaluation of the experience and possible improvements to be incorporated in the successive phases of the project is advanced

This short volume is the first English-language book-length examination of Tencent WeChat, China’s most popular mobile application. Chen, Mao, and Qiu set their inquiry in motion with the observation that, as of the late 2010s, this app has become “supersticky”—that is, “inseparable from its users’ everyday habits” (p. 2). Grounded on technical analysis, historical data, and ethnographic research, Super-Sticky WeChat and Chinese Society argues that, between 2011 and 2017, Tencent’s mobile app has grown into a unique kind of “mega-platform” responding to the peculiar communicational and cultural practices of its Chinese users.

Conceptual modeling of R&D effectiveness improvement processes has been carried out. The study was conducted in three different areas of the R&D improvement that allowed identifying a wide range of concepts in the area under study.Based on a systematic approach to the activities in the field of team building and innovative development, the authors developed a questionnaire for a survey of professional teams involved in the R&D and tested it at the instrument-making enterprise, as well as identified negative characteristics that reduced the level of productivity of the creative teams surveyed. Using the system analysis and cognitive modeling approach, the authors revealed the key concepts influencing team decision-making under uncertainty on the national economy scale. The factors affecting the labor effectiveness within the enterprise are identified on the example of implementation of the R&D support system in a large department of the project organization. The novelty of the research consists in comprehensive consideration of the scientific activity issues at three different levels of organizational complexity. The study can be used in the planning of major projects dealing with labor effectiveness improvement in scientific work.
