Web Applications

Web-based academic advising system was designed to facilitate more accurate advising sessions on campus, as well as provide a complete history of past advising sessions. Advisors may select which courses they wish a student to register in, up to several semesters in to the future, as well as leave comments for the student and other campus staff. The system was designed and developed using Relational Data Model (RDM) and Data Flow Diagram (DFD) and was implemented using PHP and MySQL programming languages. The researchers have developed an interactive web-based information system that can help Nigerian universities to facilitate more accurate advising sessions on campus and make important decisions. The developed System can handle errors, updates and modification of data more efficiently and can be accessed anywhere and anytime than the manual methods of academic advising system. This paper describes an Advisement System designed to mitigate the issues of an out-of-the-box implementation in Nigerian university to help improve retention and graduation. A successful implementation of this research study would enable the main objective of this system to assist Nigerian universities orientation camp in solving the problems associated with the manual method of academic advising system,

This study is an empirical analysis that evaluates the performance of Rideshar-ing and Taxi booking applications working in Karachi. It also investigates the quality and comfort offered across different classes of rides along with the prevalence of problem experienced by the rider in each class. It is concluded that Taxi Booking or Ride sharing applications in Karachi tend to exhibit various patterns and problems across different classes and frequency of rides. It is empirically verif ied that Business class is less disposed to diff iculties and glitches, which is an extra-advantage of Business class. However, the user experience of business class is not signif icantly different from the economy, which indicates that quality is not up to the mark. The level of comfort decreases with the frequency of rides, which means that it there is no cross-subsidy behaviour.

Afghanistan is highly prone to intense and recurring natural hazards, including earthquakes, floods, flash floods, landslides, avalanches, and droughts. Where 54% of the natural disasters in Afghanistan are water-related and makes the country the second most vulnerable country to floods worldwide. The country is prone to river flooding which cause substantial destruction to crops, human lives, and properties. Helmand River Basin is the largest of the five river basins in Afghanistan. It is a closed basin, which covers the southern half of the country draining to the unique Sistan depression near the Afghan- Iranian Border. About 80% of the population of the basin depends on agriculture and livestock for their livelihood. The middle and lower parts of the basin supports extensive agriculture. Although floods affect almost every part of the basin with varying intensity and frequency, the middle and lower parts of the basin is regarded as one of the most flood vulnerable areas. Unfortunately, residents in the flood prone area are, meanwhile, not sufficiently aware of flooding consequences due to the inadequate information and lack of quality flood data. Thus, the flood prone area has been carelessly developed for settlement and cultivation purposes.
Floods in Afghanistan Rivers are due to convective rainfall or snowmelt and sometimes coupled. Helmand River likewise experiences flood due to intense rainfall and rainfall coupled with rapid snowmelt. Where the intense rainfall-induced floods occur mainly in spring, which lies under the flash flood category. Such flash floods strike the flood prone area for a short duration, whereas the rain and snow-fed coupled floods last for a longer period.

We propose a log-based analysis tool for evaluating web application computer system. A feature of the tool is an integration software log with infrastructure log. Software engineers alone can resolve system faults in the tool, even if the faults are complicated by both software problems and infrastructure problems. The tool consists of 5 steps: preparation software, preparation infrastructure, collecting logs, replaying the log data, and tracing the log data. The tool was applied to a simple web application system in a small-scale local area network. We confirmed usefulness of the tool when a software engineer detects faults of the system failures such as " 404 " and " no response " errors. In addition, the tool was partially applied to a real large-scale computer system with many web applications and large network environment. Using the replaying and the tracing in the tool, we found causes of a real authentication error. The causes were combined an infrastructure problem with a software problem. Even if the failure is caused by not only a software problem but also an infrastructure problem, we confirmed that software engineers alone could distinguish between a software problem and an infrastructure problem using the tool.

PHP is one of the most commonly used languages to develop web sites because of its simplicity, easy to learn and it can be easily embedded with any of the databases. A web developer with his basic knowledge developing an application without practising secure guidelines, improper validation of user inputs leads to various source code vulnerabilities. Logical flaws while designing, implementing and hosting the web application causes work flow deviation attacks. In this paper, we are analyzing the complete behaviour of a web application through static and dynamic analysis methodologies.

The current research project focuses on the development of an innovative social health network and electronic health record system (IMPILO platform) which is based on Blockchain technology. The purpose of this project is to provide a series of health services (e.g. booking of medical appointments and tele-counselling meetings) to both citizens and doctors that would offer a more direct communication and cooperation between them and thus help reduce critical delays in medical care provision. As IMPILO manages health data, in addition to the group of friends found in some forms on all social networks, two additional certain types of user relationships have been defined: Circle of Trust (which includes a limited number of people with full rights to review and modify each user's profile and health record) and Care Team (which consists of the users-doctors that have access to their profile and medical data and can perform certain actions on their behalf). This feature is useful for keeping profiles of elderly and minors. The utilization of the capabilities of the blockchain technology in areas beyond cryptocurrencies is of particular value, especially in the field of health, where the IMPILO platform creates more reliable and durable networks, using the blockchain technology, while helping to the seamless communication between the various stakeholders (doctors, patients, hospitals, etc.). The decentralized data storage and full control of a patient's consent management process helps overcome issues such as the secure management of sensitive personal data and authorization to access medical data. Thus, blockchain is one of the most important components of the IMPILO platform that acts as a basis for recording all meaningful events in the application and provides security to users for the integrity of their data. The application is accessible via a smartphone application (for both Android and iOS operating systems) and a web interface, with a special emphasis on the design of functional, efficient and easy-to-use user interfaces, taking into account the requirements of the end users of the application and the specifics of the health sector.

Under the auspices of exceptional development in computer and informatics technology recently, it becomes necessary for acquiescent countries to take advantage of communication and information technologies to develop their establishments which affect environments and general welfare.
  From this point the importance of this research is embodied since it concentrates on explaining the idea of electronic management and its application on open systems ways (manners).
The research is divided to three themes:
  The first theme discusses the definition of open systems concept and its applicative theories, characteristics and features of these systems, and its advantages to manage establishments.
  The second theme discusses the definition of electronic management , the bases of setting up its equipments , developing its specializations , how to manage the basic resources and connection extent of management with central and non-central levels which consequently affects development of services generally, and explanation of characteristics of the main parts in electronic management , which are : electronic manger and electronic systems.
  The third theme explains the frame work (structure) of electronic management via using ways and theories of open systems and comparing them with traditional managements. Study obstacles (barriers) facing the electronic management to ensure success of applying it. The transformation matter is represented as management and planning steps at first place. This operation is taken into consideration more than technology matter which is represented in supplying computers and communication and software network.
Certain concepts which are related to electronic management are mentioned in this theme through explaining the necessity of Arabic countries to modern electronic managements in order to advance and serve their nations through transformation process from bureaucracy manner (form) to modern democratic manner (form).

The aim of this study is to determine online services, which has been rendered by public and private health institutions in Diyarbakir, Turkey. As this study was implemented only in center and districts of Diyarbakir, all health institutions were included. Web sites of these institutions were searched between 01.01.201601.04.2016 and data were compiled. Among 38 institutions, 21 (56%) of them were public and 17 (44%) of them were private. 27(72%) of health institutions were general hospitals and 11(28%) of them were medical specialty centers. These web sites were investigated according to four dimensions such as, institution information, facilitating online services, relations with community, shareholders and target groups and social media integration by 23 measures. Ina software testing domain, different techniques and
approaches  are  used  to  support  the  process  of
regression  testing  in  an  effective  way.  The  main
approaches  are  test  suite  minimization,  test  case
prioritization  and  test  case  selection.  Test  case
prioritization  techniques  improve  the  performance  of
regression  testing,  and  arrange  test  cases  in  order  to
obtain  maximum  available  fault  that  is  going  to  be
detected  in  a  shorter  time.  User-sessions  and  cookies
are unique features of web applications that are useful
in  regression  testing  because  they  have  precious
information about the application state before and after
any change that is made to the software code. The main
challenge  is  the  effectiveness  of  average  percentage
fault detection rate and time constraint in the existing
techniques. Thus, in this research the priority is given
to  clustering  test  cases  that  are  performed  based  on
some  criteria  related  to  http  requests  which  collected
from  the  database  of  server  side.  To  verify  the  new
technique  some  fault  will  be  seeded  in  subject
application  then  applying  the  prioritization  criteria  on
test  cases  for  comparing  the  effectiveness  of  average
percentage  fault  detection  rate  and  time  with  existing
techniques.

As the cloud computing is a new style of computing over internet. It has many advantages along with some crucial issues to be resolved in order to improve reliability of cloud environment. These issues are related with the load management, fault tolerance and different security issues in cloud environment. In this paper the main concern is load balancing in cloud computing. The load can be CPU load, memory capacity, delay or network load. Load balancing is the process of distributing the load among various nodes of a distributed system to improve both resource utilization and job response time while also avoiding a situation where some of the nodes are heavily loaded while other nodes are idle or doing very little work. Load balancing ensures that all the processor in the system or every node in the network does approximately the equal amount of work at any instant of time. Many methods to resolve this problem has been came into existence like Particle Swarm Optimization, hash method, genetic algorithms and several scheduling based algorithms are there. In this paper we are proposing a method based on Ant Colony optimization to resolve the problem of load balancing in cloud environment.

Selain itu manajemen internal kampus tidak efisien dalam menanggapi berbagai masalah dalam penanganannya menyebabkan lambatnya organisasi dalam beroprasi sehingga tingkat daya saing layanan rendah dibandingkan dengan kampus lain yang lebih dahulu memanfaatkan sistem informasi sebagai proses bisnis utama. Nearly 50 years of software development practice has revolved around the harnessing of the User - Permission paradigm to manage the modeling of business processes using a host of computer technologies as accessed via various user interface tools. These have migrated over the last 25 years from the single machine multiple terminal model of the mainframe days to the the multiple distributed devices and central servers homogeneous models of most modern web based applications.  The Action Oriented Workflow (AOW) paradigm described hear in shifts the focus on the application development process away from Users and permissions and toward the central concept of "action".  In this white paper Action is defined as the most invariant and atomic aspect of all business processes across all possible types of application development problems and then is used as a central kernel about which Entities (the generalized type that all real world types are mapped to) are modeled. Once modeled Entities are managed in the context of the "actions" that are performed to them or that by delayed execution they engage on other Entities as initiated by primary User interaction. The paper goes on to discuss the efficiency of this new approach to managing types in computing systems and introduces new concepts for design and management of action oriented workflows based on the management of actions performed against Entities. The concepts of Flags, Social oversight and Conservation of Permissions are also introduced as key social modulators that significantly reduce the complexity and code required to engage complex interactions for business applications. The concept of autonomous work routing is introduced via the Action Delta Assessment (ADA) algorithm extension of the paradigm to "implicit" as opposed to "explicit" workflow management and the use of this statistical learning algorithm for learning and routing "actions" between agents automatically is explained. Finally, the paper gives a brief wrap up of the power of AOW enabled systems for radically improving the efficiency of existing business processes across all types of software verticals while enabling human - system interactions to be distributed in space and time across managed systems in a way that the current paradigm does not make possible.

The application of information systems has become an important element because of the effectiveness and efficiency that can accelerate performance so as to encourage excellence both financially and networked. This result in the importance of a framework for ensuring that information technology enables maximizing business profits, the risk of information technology being managed appropriately, and that information technology resources are used responsibly, to achieve these objectives careful planning, implementation, support, supervision and evaluation are needed and optimal. Competition in Tight business, now making people do specific strategies to increase profits and still maintain its existence. Many frameworks are used to measure the maturity level of Information technology strategy alignment with an organization's business strategy, one of framework is COBIT (Control Objective for Information and Related Technology). COBIT 5 frameworks provide a solution in implementing IT governance models. This research focuses on the APO02 (manage strategy) and MEA (Monitor, Evaluate and Assess Performance) process MEA01 (Monitor, Evaluate and Assess Performance and Performance) process. The stages of analysis in this study are initiation, Planning the Assessment, Briefing, Data Collection, Data Validation, Process Attribute Level and Reporting the Result as contained in COBIT 5 Assessment Process Activities. This audit uses the Guttman scale to determine the results and Capability Levels of APO02 and MEA01. After the capability level value is obtained, recommendations are prepared as input for managing the information system for receiving life insurance letters using application.

Distribusi data merupakan suatu kemudahan yang dihasilkan dari teknologi web. User atau operator dalam suatu institusi tidak perlu mengelola data pada masing-masing host namun dapat dilakukan terpusat dan kemudian hasilnya dapat langsung ditampilkan pada tiap host yang ada hubungannya dangan pengelohan data nilai siswa yang terdapat di institusi tersebut. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menghindari pengelolaan data yang dilakukan secara manual yang terjadi pada sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) swasta Nusa Penida di Medan. Pihak SMK (guru dan petugas tata usaha) masih bergantung pada lembaran-lembaran kertas sebagai media penyimpanan. Dengan menggunakan teknologi web pihak SMK dapat melakukan pengelolaan data nilai siswa yang output-nya dapat didistribusikan ke siswa. Teknologi web ini diterapkan menggunakan metode waterfall. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah pihak SMK dapat mengolah data nilai siswa secara online dan pihak SMK dan siswa dapat mengakses dimanapun dan kapanpun termasuk via mobile (smartphone).

This paper presents benchmarks regarding a web application that aims at displaying and visualizing a dataset for air quality monitoring, experimenting using two different programming languages. Specifically, an application is developed via the use of PHP and Python frameworks in order to study the impact of the CPU, the hard disk architecture and the operating system between each system. Detailed tests have been conducted regarding the necessary computing resources as well as the use of the network (delay, CPU usage etc.) for different operating systems and hardware specifications.

The Internet may be free, but service provider’s indispensable to access services are not, to the extent that while the complexity and burden of the sites increases, it is becoming more and more expensive to surf the net. Blocking access under the guise of protecting us from offensive or sexually explicit content, to pages, chat rooms, newsgroups and other Web options is not anymore an excuse, but a lie. Government surveillance in the Internet, uncontrolled practices of data harvesting and restriction of free speech, open discussion of issues and even political activism has spread in the last 20 years to include countries that are considered democracies such as the U.S. Internet has become a battleground of power and therefore become increasingly militarized.

Nowadays, people have less time and more work to do which forces them to travel to different places for work, meetings, and tourism. If people don't have a private vehicle, they use public transports which is crowded and generally not running on time. Bikers Portal gives the solution to such problems. Bikers Portal can also be used as a complementary mode to other public transit such as buses, local trains. This will be a web application which will provide bike rental service. It will also provide a single platform for rental companies and users effectively and efficiently. This application is a combination of both sales and inventory management of the bike. From an individual's point of view, bike-renting systems eliminate the inconvenience of bike ownership, the need to find parking places, and the fear of theft. It helps in reducing traffic congestion as the number of vehicles on the road can be reduced significantly. Using this portal, users can rent a bike for tours, trips, and other such events that needs traveling with comfort and personal space. Also, the people who have private vehicles but they don't use it because of any reason, they can take advantage of this portal. For users, saving time will be another important benefit of this system.

Classification is one of the most important tasks for different applications such as text categorization, tone recognition, image classification, microarray gene expression, proteins structure predictions, data Classification, etc. Hand-written digit classification is a process that interprets handwritten digits by machine. There are many techniques used for HRC like neural networks and k-nearest neighbor (KNN).In this paper, a novel supervised learning technique, Support Vector Machine (SVM), is applied to blur images data. SVM is a powerful machine model use for classification for two or more classes. This paper represents pixel base detection technique for training machines on blur images. SVM is employed as classifier results are accurate nearest 80% which are comparable with state of art.

The present research corresponds to the university needs of vocational guidance to its students' population, and it is pertinent for all the students, to be aware of tools like those that are designed in this project, so that they could be vocationally oriented, at the time to choose their careers to study, and the field in which they will develop themselves as professionals.

In this professional practice, a test of easy access, using the guidance methodology of John Holland, will be implemented through Android platforms and Web services, which through their results, will allow the vocational guidance of the students population, primarily from San Carlos. This document explains the tools and methods for developing these applications, and their realizations and procurement sites, which are publicly available on the Internet.

Indeed, it can be accessed from any internet browser to the official page of the test, or download in every Android cellphone, the corresponding application. And if you have interest, this work reflects, the effort to generate those tools.

Ce projet a pour objectif de présenter les différentes étapes de conception de cette application web ainsi que ses différentes composantes.

   Cependant, ce projet constitue à la fois une étude théorique à travers la phase de conception et une étude pratique à travers la phase de réalisation de cette application.

  La réalisation de ce projet, nous a permis de créer un système de gestion des données concernant notre application e-mailing, ainsi que la conception, qui constitue une phase importante dans la représentation des différentes fonctionnalités  de l’application.

   En effet, ce travail m’a permis d’un coté d’enrichir mes connaissances théoriques à travers l’utilisation d’UML pour la conception orienté objet de systèmes d’informations, SQL comme un SGBD, et PHP comme un langage de programmation, d’une autre coté d’améliorer  mes capacités de développement, afin d’en tirer profit dans le futur.

      A titre général, ce stage a constitué une expérience professionnelle exceptionnelle. La vie universitaire ne permet que d'avoir un aperçu de son futur métier. On découvre rapidement que l'aspect pratique dépasse souvent les connaissances acquises et qu'il constitue une formation rapide.

Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems provide key capabilities to the coalition and national command authorities for intelligence collection, exploitation and battle management. ISR systems support the full range of component commanders at all levels of command. Further, both coalition and national command authorities may employ exploited and pre-exploited ISR information in the development of politico-military options for military and civil operations within an area of operations (AO). As a result, ISR information provides a critical piece of information for both military commanders and their civilian counterparts operating in the same AO and will likely be in demand for contingency operations from disaster relief to military conflict. This paper will present the key findings of experimentation employing network enabled databases and ISR management tools for dissemination of ISR data and information. Subjects to be addressed include but are not limited to information security and cross domain data transfer, network resource allocation and tools provided for review and minimization of bandwidth requirements, tasking and management of ISR systems by end users outside of traditional networks, communications capabilities and limitations realized through collaboration functions and web enabled applications as well as ISR command and control in an open network of multiple end users.
