Siglo XIII. Andalusí. Orden del Hospital. Violencia. Materialidad bélica. Tecnología militar. Arqueología de la violencia. Balística. Artillería de acción parabólica.

counts with some gaps about its discovery and later conversion in touristic cavity, the change to public ownership
and development of infrastructures. This communication tries to cover the lack of information that exist on these historical
aspects of the Wonders Cave. Concerning the discovery, there are questions related to the mining works which
were not known to be the cause of the finding in 1850. Its operation began with a deprived management, and in
the years of the II Republic it went to municipal hands after some attempts of the local administration during the dictatorship
of Primo de Rivera to obtain its control. All along its long journey it has undergone several transformations
to improve its services and infrastructures up to the image it offers today. At the same time we try to make a recognition
to those people who with their studies, interventions and work have made giving possible to know this cavity
as one of the most valued in Europe.

archaeological elements to analyse the territory. This characters are limited to a certain period so we
can define this archaeology as Ancient Regime Archaeology. This elements are: the stately house-palace,
the parish and the necropolis. We refer to that last respect in this paper on “an Martín’s necropolis
(Almonaster la Real, Huelva). The death archaeology is essential to define a time through the concept of
materiality. We don't límit our study to death places (tombs), we analyse death through the discussions
it generates.
