As in latin american countries, regional context of this paper there were not historical disadvantages, specially of traditional populations. The communitarian tourism is a strategy that allows traditional populations, independently of their low characterization before the hegemony of the industrial urban societies, to be protagonists in its proper ways of life, becoming a possible alternative to the materialist-consumer lifestyle. The communitarian tourism takes advantage of the shop window that represents the tourism sector currently, which means that it takes ownership of the instrumental rationality, however not of the calculation of mere individual consequences, but of collective profits, as suggests the ecosocioeconomics approach. The objective of this article is to refine or, better, to justify the concept of communitarian tourism, considered by Sampaio (2005) from Brazilian, Chilean and Costa Rican experiences by a team of researchers. These experimentations are not summarized in a new heterodox alternative of tourism, but they help to make possible to think a new economy, that is, the ecosocioeconomics. It takes places in the world of life, by means of another rationality, in communities, organizations and homes, where the problems and theirs solutions happen, and rarely are fairly qualified. It is a theory thought from the experimentations, of the complexities of daily life, the inherent contradictions to the paradigmatic change which are desired when one thinks about the limitations of the economicist utilitarism and that, unfortunately, many times, does not happen in the speed that one desires.
