2007-2008
Pedagogical Fellows Program, Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center,
University of California at Irvine. In addition to the TAPDP program (see
teaching activities), I served as a teaching consultant for graduate TAs who were
seeking to improve their teaching. The program also involved three quarters of
coursework on pedagogical theory and preparing for an academic career.
2007-2008
Co-graduate Student Representative, Department of Earth System Science,
University of California at Irvine. Along with another graduate student, I served
as a liaison between graduate students and faculty in my department. Duties
included raising graduate student concerns to the department chair and graduate
advisor and participating in faculty meetings. I was also in charge of a
subcommittee planning a retreat for the graduate students in the department.
2006-2007
Journal Club Chair, Department of Earth System Science, University of California
at Irvine. I organized a series of weekly seminars lead by graduate students in the
department. In addition, I invited and coordinated one of our department’s invited
student speakers.
