This article analyses the discourse of social roles for women and their aging in the speeches of Francisca the protagonist in the TV series Os Experientes (Globo TV, 2015). Considering the gurative and thematic analysis, this text takes elements from Greimasian semiotic theory based on the studies realized by Barros (2011) and Fiorin (1996, 2007, and 2011). In addition, the article seeks to point out the discussion on the aging population and the “feminization” of oldness (MOREIRA, 1998; SALGADO, 2002), addressing these issues as part of a deep and complex transformation of identity and intimacy (GIDDENS, 1993, 2002) underway in Brazilian society. The analysis showed positive speeches about new forms of women aging, linked to the women liberation speeches on the search of self-identity.
