Azman Taa
I'm a lecturer at School of Computing, College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah. I obtained a Diploma in Computer Science in 1986 and Bachelor of Computer Science in 1988 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Master of Information Technology in 1999 from UUM, and PhD in Software Engineering (Data Warehouse) in 2012 from UUM. My academic activities include teaching in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer systems ranging from system analysis, design and database system. I'm also supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) in a particular area such as software engineering, data warehouse, business intelligence, knowledge management, ontology, and data analytics. I'm also a member of the IEEE, and International Association Software Architecture (IASA). I was a Computer Center Director at UUM from 2001 to 2006 and responsible to plan and manage the utilization and implementation of computer systems in UUM, and a Director of Innovation and Commercialization Center in UUM from 2013 to 2014. I was involved as consultant in the development of Information Systems in various organizations such as the Kedah State Development Corporation (KSDC), Universiti Islam Malaysia (USIM), and Entrepreneur Department Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). My research interests focus on business intelligence, data warehouse, knowledge management, ontology, and data analytics. I am also a Certified Professional Trainer from Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Certified Data Science Specialization from Johns Hopkins University, and Certified Professional Requirement Engineering Foundation Level from Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB). Currently, I am conducting trainings or workshops on mobile application development (cross platform), and data science specialization.
