Sam Han
Sam Han is a Seoul-born, New York City-raised interdisciplinary social scientist, working in the areas of social and cultural theory, new media, religion, globalization, and race/ethnicity. He received his BA in Sociology and English from Wesleyan University, USA and his PhD in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, USA. He is currently Senior Lecturer of Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Western Australia.
He is author of (Inter)Facing Death: Life in Global Uncertainty(Routledge, 2020), Technologies of Religion: Spheres of the Sacred in a Post-secular Modernity (Routledge, 2016), Digital Culture and Religion in Asia (with Kamaludeen Mohamed Nasir) (Routledge, 2015), Web 2.0 (Routledge, 2011), Navigating Technomedia: Caught in the Web (Rowman & Littlefield, 2007) and editor (with Daniel Chaffee) of The Race of Time: A Charles Lemert Reader (Paradigm Publishers, 2009).
