In our proposed project the silver nanoparticles are coated on a material of hydroxyapatite to enhance its performance, stability and reproducibility. The hydroxyapatite is coated with silver nanoparticles and is used in the preparation of a scaffold. The scaffold is tested for anti-microbial activity and characterization studies are carried out. The coated nanoparticles enhance the formation of osteoblasts and hence contribute to bone regeneration.
