Unmodified natural rubber is not suitable for any elstomeric applications. Therefore, it is appropriate to modify natural rubber chemically to enhance the stability, which can be termed as vulcanization. Incorporation of fibers/fabrics is a common method to increase the stability of natural rubber along with chemical modification. Natural rubber-based composites have been prepared by the addition of silk fabric into natural rubber. The matrix material for the composite is glutaraldehyde cured natural rubber. Silk is an ecofriendly and biodegradable material with excellent tensile strength. When such kind of fabric is introduced into the vulcanized rubber as the matrix, all the physical properties were found to be enhanced considerably. Tensile properties in terms of ultimate tensile strength, elongation at break, and modulus of elasticity are measured for the composites of natural rubber/silk fabric at various glutaraldehyde concentrations. Polymer composites by and large found suitable for many specific applications in the filed of electrical, electronics, marine, aerospace and microelectronics. Thus a new technique for processing polymer composites has been explored and one such is microwave curing. The particulate filled epoxy composites are much preferred for many applications and the curing of such thermoset systems are of much important and should be efficient with reduced time cycle. In that regard the microwave curing becomes an alternative curing technique to meet the demand of these composites. Thus this paper attempts to describe the advancement occurred for past few years illustrating the different properties and their behaviour when these composites are cured with microwave techniques.

According to resources, the 1 st & 5 th biggest humanitarian issue the world is facing is "World Military Spending" and "Military Aid" respectively. In recent years, global military expenditure has increased and recent data showing global spending at over 1.5 trillion dollars ($). There were 29 major infiltration incidents (involving three or more fatalities) in 2009. The most significant among these, are SFs and civilians were attacked. Though militants suffered heavily in Jammu & Kashmir, India, and the situation has improved gradually, there was a rise in infiltration bids by militants in 2009. Red cross/Red crescent statistics indicates that for a period of 25 years, on an average 267 people a year were killed due to landslide disasters. However, the actual number killed by landslides is undoubtedly several times this number. There are no efficient methods to rescue the people who are trapped under the debris. This contributes to the number of deaths due to landslides. Therefore, there is a requirement to innovate a new vehicle automated guided vehicles (AGVs), probably a semi-autonomous robot with a locomotion that can dynamically adapt to the environment in which it is traversing. The challenge is designing adaptive locomotion technique that traverses unknown environments. This locomotion can be implemented by dual chassis locomotion, with inner chassis and the outer chassis. This method helps the robot to traverse in any terrain such as land, mountain, smooth, slippery, etc. The design, implementation and verification of the working of the vehicle are reported in this paper.

India is an agricultural land, which comprises of minor, marginal, to major farming. Farmers of our country are using traditional ways, methods and equipment from the ages for cultivation. Besides that there is large development of industrial and service sector when compared to that of agriculture. In order to meet the food requirements of the growing population and rapid industrialization, modernization of agriculture is inevitable.To get good yield from the crops many fertilizers, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, etc. are being used to control diseases, insects and weeds. Over the ages many innovative methods are developed using mechanization in this field. Dusters and sprayers are generally used for applying chemicals. There are many types of sprayers in the market like knapsack sprayer, rocker sprayer, centrifugal rotary disc type sprayer, foot sprayer, tractor mounted sprayer, etc. Present work aims at developing a new method of spraying technique called as " Multi nozzle, multi pump wheel driven pull type sprayer " which will perform spraying at maximum rate in minimum time.The equipment is wheel operated in turn operating the pump and spraying of the liquid at the back of the worker hence avoids contact with the liquid and reduces health hazards.

Bharat earth movers limited (BEML), Bangalore complex currently associated with Hyundai Rotem to manufacture metro cars for Delhi, Bangalore and other metro peloton cities as there technical partner, MELCO and Mitsubishi being their consortium members. The metro car known as the car body shell is made up of stainless steel structural members. The main modulus of the car body shell is under frame, side wall, end and cab, and roof structure. The scope of this project is to facilitate the design and fabrication of storage cum movement stand for cab block of side structure assembly. The main advantage of this project is to move the finished cab blocks from one hanger to another hanger and also to store the cab blocks in appropriate systematic manner. This project also aims to avoid manual movement, where man power is involved in movement of cab blocks can be avoided and also to move the cab blocks with safe working conditions between the hangers.

Carbon Fiber Reinforced plastic (CFRP) have various applications in aerospace industries due to their exceptional mechanical and physical properties. Thruster brackets which are made from this material houses nozzle, which helps in appropriate location and orientation of the satellite in space. This project aims at development of manufacturing process of composite thruster bracket and design and fabrication of jig for the same. A novel production process is proposed for manufacturing of composite thruster bracket by introducing the concepts of in-situ cutouts. A JIG is designed by which drilling of minute PCD holes of thruster bracket is done on a vertical milling machine available at composite structures lab to make whole process in-house.
