The description of register_custom_provider is not correct, as for now. Here are some details https://github.com/postgres/postgres/commit/c2ea2285e978d9289084846a3343cef7d261d880

As I understand, now there is only hooks, no need to register somewhere. I do not feel confident in this matter to fix wiki though.
