South City

South City is the name given to a 31.14-acre (126,000 m²) condominium in Kolkata, India. It is situated in Prince Anwar Shah Road close to the Jodhpur Park and Tollygunge areas of the city. Most of the recent real estate developments in Kolkata has taken place in the E.M. Bypass area, New Town and Greater Kolkata. However, the South City complex is located in the heart of the city.

The condominium features a Residential Complex, which includes a number of recreational facilities, School, Infirmary, Shopping Mall and a Social Club.

The Residential complex is a condominium and has 5 residential towers - 4 towers of 35 floors and 1 tower of 16 floors. As of 2013,It is the biggest mall of total East India and the 35-storied residential structures are the second tallest buildings in Eastern India and also one the tallest in the country after Urbana 1. They rise up to a height of 117 metres (384 ft). The first, second, third and fourth tower have been named as Oak, Pine, Maple and Cedar, respectively. There is also a rain water harvesting system in the complex. There are around 1700 families residing in the complex.

South City Mall is the largest shopping mall in Kolkata, India and in the whole of West Bengal. Located on Prince Anwar Shah Road near the upper-middle class suburbs of Jodhpur Park, Lake Gardens, Dhakuria and Golf Green, it has been open since 16 January 2008. It has a Gross Lease-able Area of 650,000 sq ft (60,000 m²) and parking for 2,500 vehicles.

The mall was designed by retail specialist ICS Bentel Associates and city architect Dulal Mukherjee. Anchored by major stores like Pantaloons, Spencer's Retail and Shoppers Stop, there are also 134 other stores, a food court on the top floor and a INOX multiplex.

The adjoining South City Township, with four 35-storey and one 15-storey residential highrises, was built by the same developer - South City Projects.
