2023, Ethics and Values in Organization: Contemporary Issues and Challenges
The unorganised or informal sector of the Indian economy continues to contribute significantly, and issues around ethics and values are currently their top priorities. Significance of business ethics gained momentum considerably during the 1990s. In light of the ethical and unethical issues that develop in business situations, creating ethical codes for unorganised sectors is all about amalgamating the current scenario. The current paper makes an effort to comprehend the variety and volume of moral dilemmas that result from the combination of greedy behavior with non-economic difficulties in the disorganized corporate world. The chapter has especially focused on the gloomy picture of an unorganized workforce and the need for standardization of ethical conduct and moral structure. Further, it suggested some ways forward to deal with unethical issues in this organizational context. Finally, the study found that comprehension of ethical values can be bumpy and inconsistent across a varied unorganized labor force where hard work at balancing this disparity comes with their profits.

Ethics and ethical ideologies: an empirical study of managers in North Indian large manufacturing enterprises2001 •
This paper, being the product of a decade and half of research, is based on the conviction that the corporate leader in the future would have to be the ethical leader. This conviction has been mirrored in most of the works of Sadri and Jayashree between 2005 and 2015. Its argument is divided into four parts. The first defines the subject matter of the paper and deals with issues like values, beliefs and ethics. This part lays down the theoretical underpinning for the ensuing argument. The second takes up the issue of Managerial Styles examining a landmark study, conducted in India, in the process. The underlying assumption is that the answers we get to social issues depend on the questions we ask. The questions we ask depend on the values we have. Moreover, these values give rise to our beliefs and our ethical conduct. Hence, the Managerial Style is a good proxy for Managerial Work Beliefs. The third part deals with the question of the Values of the Chief Executive. The underlying assumption is that in a positivist framework, power flows downward and the tone as well as the tenor of managerial behavior is set by the behavior of the Chief Executive. This becomes all the more important when the organization is forced to thrive on the cutting edge of competition. The fourth part deals with what lies ahead and to that extent posits a considered opinion on the issue of Managerial Work Ethics.

Indian Business Managers Perceptions of Organizational Values, Ethics and Success2021 •
The purpose of this paper is to investigate Indian business manager’s perceptions of organizational values and their assessment of the relationship between ethical actions and success. The findings indicate that most Indian managers feel that they work for organizations with strong values, however, a significant number of those managers also felt that unethical behavior helps one to succeed. In addition, we found that neither the size of the firm nor whether the company was public or private, had an effect on perceptions of organizational values or feelings about the relationship between ethics and success. Overall, this research provides some new and unexplored insights as to the role ethics play in an Indian manager’s assessment of their organization, their personal feelings about ethics and professional achievement. and how these ethical perceptions compare with managers in businesses in China.
Ethics in business plays a vital role in the growth of company due to its influence on profit and hence progress, irrespective of the size of the organization. Business ethics is a theory of the relation between a moralistic business and a moralistic society. Also, it is the study of fair business policies, activities, behaviour, functioning and practices within an organization regarding issues that may be potentially decisive. The main purpose of this paper is to study and assert the governing Business Ethical Attributes (BEA) in the prominent categories- Small, Medium and Large enterprises of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector in India. For corelation of ethical values, a model based on Set Theory is applied to the data obtained from a survey. An ideal set, containing all the attributes that ideally imply to the FMCG sector is defined prior to the survey. After the survey, led by the data obtained, a set of attributes pertaining to each category of enterprise is constructed. Then at the end, it is related to the initially defined ideal set. This paper also presents a study of various conditions by examining the behaviour of the parameters and also suggests policy to determine Business Ethical Attributes for each type of enterprise in the FMCG sector in India. The experimental results greatly help us to identify the contributions of each selected parameter and its impact on ethical as well as profitable business organization.
