The concept of justice takes a central position in practical philosophy from the birth of philosophical reflection in the ancient Greece to contemporary discussions in political, social, and moral philosophy. This article presents a genealogy and development of the Greek concept of dikaiosyne (δικαιοσύνη). It starts with the first poetical appearances of a term dike (δίκη) in Homer’s poetry, continues with the analysis through its more sophisticated application by Hesiod, and finally it reaches the pivotal philosophical transformations of dike into dikaiosyne in The Histories of Herodotus.

The persecution of Christians was stopped after capture of Valerian in June 260. During the forty-three years from 260 to 303 the Christian Church had a relatively comfortable conditions to growth. According to Eusebius of Ceasarea and Lactantius the emperor Aurelian (270-275) wanted to renew the persecution in the last few months of his reign. The emperor was assassinated by a conspiracy of his higher officers and he didn’t realize this plans. We have several accounts of martyrdoms which took place under Aurelian in Italy, Asia Minor, Palestine, Dalmatia and Gaul. The reliability of many of this martyrdoms is doubled. Some of this martyrs were genuine, but they hadn’t been punished during the rule of Aurelian. For example Felix was executed either rule of Valerian or Aurelian. Sometimes authors of acts of martyr confused Aurelian with Marcus Aurelius. The following names of martyrs are fictious. The dates of the martyrdoms don’t fit to chronology for thè end of Aurelian’s rule.

The article is dedicated to the issue of cultural memory in Polish studies. It is discussed in the context of the so-called memory turn, and the transformations occurring in the museum science under the influence of the “new museology”. The text consists of three parts. The first one concerns the changes and shifts in the discourse of cultural and social memory in the days of the increasing musealization process. The second one indicates new educational strategies in narrative, critical, and especially in participatory museums, which contributes to the formation of new models of participation in culture and of receptive habits. The third part, on the other hand, provides diagnoses concerning challenges, as well as the hints which the transformations of the museum activities in the field of education offer to Polish studies.

The Closing of Kunstania is a short tale about art that has been hidden away from its audience in a garden behind high walls. In this refuge, there are neither audio-guides nor art education nor interactive apps. Kunstania reminds us of another possibility to encounter art without mediators, without an aura of masterpieces, and without the promise of an extraordinary event. Instead, a way through a labyrinth of rooms and corridors, where, perhaps, things and tales are stored, but must be found on your own, wandering, returning and recollecting.
