Is there anything coherently ‘European’ about a European archaeology – or rather, about the ‘archaeology of Europe’ – or is it simply a modern political construct with no meaning in the ancient past? This paper analyses European archaeology through a historical perspective, tracing developments in the areas of archaeo- logical conservation (heritage), thinking (theory/interpretations) and publication and teaching. It critically examines a perceived trend in archaeology from a national towards a European framework, and concludes instead that local and regional frameworks have become stronger in all three areas. To move forward, we should use our understanding of the relationship between ideology, politics and archaeology to promote a research agenda that actively contributes to the formation of critical knowledge about the conditions for heritage and research in contemporary society. There is scope for an archaeology that addresses fundamental historical problems and long-term histories of the various geographically and culturally interlinked regions of Europe.

Moral Philosophy and Politics, 2023
Radical realists criticise the role that moral intuitions play in moralist political philosophy. However, radical realists may also appear to rely on certain epistemic intuitions when making use of their theories of ideology critique. Hence, one might wonder whether radical realists' criticism of moralists' intuition-dependence is hypocritical. Call this the intuition asymmetry objection. My aim in this article is to show that the intuition asymmetry objection fails. After examining the basis of radical realists' objections to the role of moral intuitions in moralist political philosophy, I show that the presence of intuitions in radical realist theories of ideology critique is consistent with their criticism of moralism.

Ekpoma Review
There is no gain saying that African philosophy is passing through many challenges for proper recognition and acceptance in academic world. One of the main reasons bothers on the fact that African philosophy has many inseparable parts and involves in myriad of issues that characterised African communal experience, the way of life that is strange to others that are non-Africans. There is a need for philosophers with African perspective to show case the nature of African philosophy, its contents, the scope, the uniqueness and its relevance so that the people of other cultures and orientations can have a better understanding of African philosophy. Unless there is a strong definition and elucidation of the basic features of African philosophy supported with evidence, the challenges may stifled the effort to make it stand side by side with the philosophies available in other continents.

Photodiagnosis and photodynamic therapy, 2018
Hypericin (HYP) extracted from St. John's wort ( Hypericum perforatum L.) is a natural photosensitizer in clinical photodynamic therapy (PDT). The PDT is one of the powerful methods for cancer treatments because of its excellent tumoritropic characteristics and photosensitizing properties. However, limited reports on the efficacy of PDT on the anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) have been published. Especially HYP-associated PDT has not been investigated in vitro and in vivo. In this study, we evaluated the effect of HYP for PDT against FRO ATC cells. The activities of HYP-assisted PDT were investigated in ATC cells. The ATC FRO cells were treated with a combination of HYP dose and laser power. The viability of FRO cells was measured by MTT assay, and Trypan blue staining was performed to monitor cell death. Detection reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential after HYP-assisted PDT were analyzed by confocal microscopy. For in vivo study, FRO cells were injec...

Shakespeare and Wisdom: Ecumenical, Ecological and Ethical Horizons, 2024
This volume interweaves Shakespeare’s wisdom with ancient spiritual practices and the insights of a post-secular age in order to explore a transhistorical space of sapient knowing and living. Pursuing the delight of heart, soul and understanding in the synaesthetic experience of theatre and the meditative space of poetry, sapiential Shakespeare explores knowledge, love, beauty, nature, will and power in conversation with multiple wisdom traditions, tapping into a global sensus communis rooted in energetic knowing-with. This collection of essays begins in the Mediterranean with classical, biblical and Egyptian wisdom, moves to the East to consider Sufi and Buddhist wisdom and then turns to the West to reflect on Indigenous science and ways of knowing. Sharing a common root in oikos, meaning home, the ecumenical and the ecological converge in an embodied ethics and politics of care premised in an ecological rather than ego-logical way of being.

Acta Crystallographica Section A Foundations and Advances, 2014
Contemporary research equipment is not only extremely complex and very expensive, it is typically fully computerized and most tasks are executed without student participation. This creates a number of substantial educational drawbacks and limitations. The paper presents a virtual multifunctional X-ray laboratory (v-Lab) that helps overcome the above mentioned problems, addresses the demands of distance and blended education and meets learning habits of today's students. The v-Lab enables students to practice concepts, tasks, and equipment operations in a manner that can't be achieved on actual equipment. It employs virtual X-ray equipment that realistically imitates the functionality and design of actual equipment and also includes educational analytical software. Virtual data can be exported to popular software as well. Highly interactive online experiments using virtual equipment have been created for undergraduate students to learn fundamental principles underlying the an...

It takes a closer look to the practices of Conceptual and Critical designers as ones who care about emotional side of people's life reflected in the everyday objects. It does that to trace the ways such approaches might get more attention and support from publics as well as get its own right of the independent voice in design discipline.
