This study assessed the office competencies and challenges among the newly appointed Barangay Secretaries of Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nabua in Camarines Sur, Bicol Region in the Philippines. This descriptive method of research used questionnaire and interview using the percentage method and mean as its statistical tools using the four-scale rating to interpret the gathered data. The actual respondents of the study were the 35 of the 45 Barangay Secretaries of LGU-Nabua. Findings reveal that the office competencies of barangay secretaries along stenography, office management, records management, and human relations were all assessed as satisfactory except for computer operation which was assessed as fair. The study further revealed that challenges were seldom encountered by the respondents along their work performance. Análisis sobre relevancia de la información y forma de interrogatorio

En la audiencia sobre exclusión de pruebas y cómo debería llevarse el interrogatorio sobre peleas domésticas entre OJ Simpson y la víctima, las partes plantean los siguientes argumentos: Abogado: Honorable Juez no se debe permitir que la Fiscalía introduzca las más de 15 peleas domésticas que tuvieron Mr. Simpson y la víctima. Este no es un caso de violencia doméstica, razón por la cual resulta irrelevante esas peleas. Por el contrario, esa evidencia sesgaría negativamente al jurado en contra de Mr. Simpson, lo cual le impediría un juicio justo. Fiscal: Honorable Juez si se debe permitir porque esas peleas dan el contexto sobre por qué Mr. Simpson cometió el doble asesinato por el cual es acusado. Sin esas peleas, el Jurado no podría entender por qué Mr. Simpson los asesinó y reaccionó como lo hizo.

Property tables are not suitable for sensitivity and optimsation analyeses of complex thermodynamic systems that require the thermdynamic properties to be repetitively determinated at a large number of points in the system. This paper shows how Microsoft Excel can be used to develop computerised tables that automates the evaluation of thermodynamic properties. The property tables were copied in Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) was used to develop a number of user-defined functions that automate the interpolation of thermodynamic data. While maintaining the use of thermodynamic tables, which is an important educational process, the computerised tables can be a useful teaching aid that helps students to have better understanding of thermodynamics. The usefulness of the computerised tables is demonstrated by analysing the gas-turbine cycle with intercooling reheating and regeneration. Using the exact variable-specific heat method, the cycle was analysed for the effects of the inter-stage pressures on the plant's thermal efficiency and net specific-work. The paper shows that more accurate estimates of the optimum values of these pressures could be obtained than usually given by the widely adopted approximate constant-specific heat method. The Excel-based tables are particularly useful in developing countries like Sudan, where dedicated educational software is lacking.
