One powerful demonstration of the influence of visual information on what is heard is perceptual integration of mismatched audiovisual (AV) speech. When visual and auditory stimuli have conflicting places of articulation, perceivers may report hearing visually influenced percepts (e.g., auditory /ma/ + visual /ga/ are perceived as /na/), known as the “McGurk Effect” (McGurk & MacDonald, 1976). Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) refer to a continuum of severe neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by marked deficits in social reciprocity, communication, and the presence of restricted or repetitive behaviors. Children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) appear to be less influenced by visual speech information (e.g. De Gelder et al., 1991; Massaro & Boessler, 2003; Williams et al., 2004). Given the tendency of individuals with ASD to avert gaze from the faces of others, attenuated visual influence on heard speech in ASD may reflect less visual fixation on the face of a speaker. Alternatively, children with ASD may have an underlying weakness in perception of of AV speech. In a first step to investigate these two possible underlying causes of atypical sensitivity to visual speech in ASD, we compared visual influence on heard speech in children with ASD and typically developing (TD) controls when the children were fixated on the face of a speaker. BACKGROUND
QUESTION 1
For typically developing perceivers, visual information assists in the recognition of speech in noise
(Sumby & Pollack, 1954). Visual information is also used in the perception of unambiguous auditory
speech (Irwin et al., 2006). One powerful demonstration of the influence of visual information on
what is heard is perceptual integration of mismatched audiovisual (AV) speech. When visual and

A gear is a rotating machine part having a cut tooth, which meshes with another toothed part in order to transmit torque. Gears are mainly typed like spur gears, helical gears, double helical gears, bevel gears, crown gears, hypoid gears, worm gears, rack and pinion, epi cyclic gears etc. This paper presents the stress analysis of mating teeth of spur gear to find maximum contact stress in the gear teeth. The results obtained from Finite Element Analysis (FEA). For the analysis, 15NiCr1Mo15 and SCM415 are used as the materials of the spur gear. The spur gears are designed in the Creo Parametric and the .iges file is exported to ANSYS. As Finite Element Method (FEM) is the easy and accurate technique for stress analysis, FEA is done in finite element software ANSYS 14.0. Also, deformation for 15NiCr1Mo15 and SCM415 is obtained as the efficiency of the gear depends on its deformation. The results show that the maximum contact stresses and induced bending stresses obtained from Finite Element Analysis are very less and well under the safe limit. The deformation patterns of 15NiCr1Mo15 and SCM415 gears depict that the difference in their deformation is negligible.
Recent evidence suggests that genetic studies may contribute to a better understanding of individual susceptibility to caries. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors have been suggested to be involved in the caries process. The purpose of this study was to determine if polymorphisms in MMP2 (rs243865), MMP9 (rs17576), MMP13 (rs2252070), and TIMP2 (rs7501477) were associated with caries. Eligible unrelated children and adolescents were evaluated using a cross-sectional design. Data on oral health habits was obtained through a questionnaire and caries data was collected by clinical examination. Genotyping of the selected polymorphisms was carried out by real-time PCR. Allele and genotype frequencies were compared between individuals with and without caries experience. Of 505 subjects, 212 were caries-free and most subjects (61.2%) had mixed dentition. The purpose of this study is to provide information on Ghana's commercial banks present state of adopting mobile banking and the role it plays in the sector. The study objectivealsoexamine the effect of mobile banking services on the earning power of Ghanaian commercial banks. The study test the following hypothesis, H 1 : Active mobile banking customers promotes positive and significant effect on profitability of Ghanaian commercial banks, H 2 : Total Mobile Banking Transaction Value positively and significantly affects profitability of Ghanaian commercial banks, H 3 : Mobile Banking Transaction volume increaseearning power of commercial banks in Ghana. This study adopts a descriptive research design engaging quantitative research approaches for empirical analysis of the commercial banks in Ghana. The data for the study is mainly secondary data, sourced from the central bank of Ghana from the year 2015 to 2022 on commercial banks. Quantitative data were presented via tables and graphs, with textual explanations provided. This study in particular was based on time series analysis and used Nonlinear Least squares regression models (NLS and ARMA) in finding out how independent variables affects the dependent variable. Result from the study base on the hypothesis indicated that mobile banking active customers, mobile banking transaction volume and mobile banking transaction value increase earning power of commercial banks in Ghana. The study suggested that Ghanaian commercial banks should persist in their efforts to expand the use of mobile banking, since it has been shown to improve their financial performance.
Aspiration is associated with non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary disease and airway dysbiosis is associated with increased inflammation. We examined whether NTM disease was associated with a distinct airway microbiota and immune profile. 297 oral wash and induced sputum samples were collected from 106 participants with respiratory symptoms and imaging abnormalities compatible with NTM. Lower airway samples were obtained in 20 participants undergoing bronchoscopy. 16S rRNA gene and a nested mycobacteriome sequencing approaches characterised microbiota composition. Inflammatory profiles of lower airway samples were also examined. The prevalence of NTM+ cultures was 58%. Few changes were noted in microbiota characteristic or composition in oral wash and sputum samples among groups. Among NTM+ samples, 27% of the lower airway samples were enriched with A mycobacteriome approach identified in a greater percentage of samples, including some non-pathogenic strains. In NTM+ lower...
