A. Latar Belakang Masalah Dalam Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional No.20 Tahun 2003 dijelaskan bahwa: Pendidikan Nasional berfungsi mengembangkan kemampuan dan watak serta peradaban bangsa yang bermartabat dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa, bertujuan untuk berkembangnya potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, sehat, berilmu, cakap, kreatif, mandiri,dan menjadi warga Negara yang demokratis serta bertanggung jawab (2005:65-66). Pendidikan adalah usaha sadar untuk menumbuhkembangkan potensi Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) melalui kegiatan pengajaran. Ada dua buah konsep kependidikan yang berkaitan dengan lainnya, yaitu belajar (learning) dan pembelajaran (intruction). Konsep belajar berakar pada pihak peserta didik dan konsep pembelajaran berakar pada pihak pendidik. Dalam proses belajar mengajar (PBM) akan terjadi interaksi antara peserta didik dan pendidik. Peserta didik adalah seseorang atau sekelompok orang sebagai pencari, penerima pelajaran yang dibutuhkannya, sedang pendidik adalah seseorang atau sekelompok orang yang berprofesi sebagai pengolah kegiatan belajar mengajar dan seperangkat peranan lainnya yang memungkinkan berlangsungnya kegiatan belajar mengajar yang efektif. Pada mata pelajaran sains diperlukan kurikulum yang sesuai dengan bidangnya. Untuk itu dalam pembelajaran dan cara pengajaran materi sains tidak dapat dianggap sama dengan mata pelajaran lain yang tidak sejenis, karenanya dilakukan observasi pembelajaran fisika di sekolah yang penting bagi calon pendidik untuk mengajarkan fisika. Dalam laporan observasi ke sekolah ini akan dibahas mengenai pembelajaran dan pengajaran fisika di SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. B. Identifikasi Masalah Berdasarkan latar belakang permasalahan di atas, maka dirumuskan permasalahan sebagai berikut: 1. Apa sajakah kendala yang dialami guru di sekolah dalam pembelajaran fisika 2. Apa kesulitan siswa dalam mempelajari fisika 3. Apa saja faktor yang menghambat siswa dalam menerima materi fisika 4. Bagaimana metode yang digunakan guru dalam memecahkan masalah belajar yang ada C. Tujuan Penulisan Berdasarkan rumusan masalah diatas, maka tujuan penyusunan laporan observasi ini adalah sebagai berikut : 1. Mengetahui kendala yang dialami guru di sekolah dalam pembelajaran fisika. 2. Mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam belajar fisika. 3. Mengetahui faktor yang menghambat siswa SMA Negeri 5 Semarang dalam menerima materi fisika.

NThe polar regions are home to a great biodiversity of vertebrates that are highly impacted by climate change. As extreme and pristine ecosystems, the use of environmental DNA (eDNA) presents itself as a noninvasive tool for the monitoring of polar vertebrates’ species, essential for their preservation. In this article, we review the currently published research on vertebrate eDNA in the Arctic, as well as compare it with a similar already-published article on Antarctica. Our results show how the Artic region is well represented with several studies focusing on vertebrates, being the second most researched group of organisms (19%), only behind plants, and with several studies related to the development of new approaches and methodologies for the use of eDNA from cold regions being published in the last years. In opposite, the Antarctic eDNA science on vertebrates is still poorly developed, with the vast majority of studies focusing on microbial life; therefore, the Antarctic region still remains with a great potential for the research development in vertebrates and the effects of the past and recent climate changes on their populations

The consumption of jar water has been increasing consistently in these days. To improve such water quality and supply, information is needed to assess water contamination in a variety of community, including those that rely primarily on unimproved distributed sources of drinking water. This study was done to assess the public perception on drinking jar water and assessment of drinking jar water distributed in Kathmandu Valley which was conducted in the Department of Microbiology, Amrit Science Campus, Thamel, Kathmandu during the period of Aug 2009 to Dec 2009. A total 57 water samples of different drinking jar water having different brand names were proceed using standard protocols and analyzed for the presence of total coliforms and fecal coliforms. All identified fecal coliforms isolates from different water samples were subjected to in-vitro antimicrobial susceptibility test by Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. In order to know the perception of people in drinking jar water, semi structured questionnaires were made and purposively selected for the study in 525 populations who were using jar water for drinking purpose. Most population rated their drinking jar water good but found to be highly concerned with the quality. Among total water samples, 91.2% (n=52) were found contaminated with total coliforms and 59.6% were with fecal coliforms. During the study, 117 isolates of enteric bacteria were isolated, of which 33.3% (n=39) were Escherichia coli followed by other gram negative bacteria. Similarly, out of 58 fecal coliforms isolates, 43.1%, 39.6%, 12.2% were E. coli, Klebsiella spp, and Enterobacter aerogens. Of those fecal coliforms, all were sensitive to antibiotic ciprofloxacin and resistant to ampicilin. The finding indicates that jar water is not safe for drinking purpose without treatment.
