The Philippine Constitution is characterized as written, conventional and rigid. The provisions of the Constitution are generally self-executing, mandatory and prospective in application. Constitution of Liberty-consists of a series of prescriptions setting forth the fundamental civil and political rights of the citizens and imposing limitations on the powers of government as a means of securing the enjoyment of these rights [Articles III, II, IV, V, and XII], on our National Economy and Patrimony.-Constitution of Sovereignty-dwells on the procedure for formally changing our fundamental law. " Revision broadly implies a change that alters a basic principle in the constitution, like altering the principle of separation of powers or the system of checks-and-balances. There is also revision if the change alters the substantial entirety of the constitution, as when the change affects substantial provisions of the constitution. On the other hand, amendment broadly refers to a change that adds, reduces, or deletes without altering the basic principle involved. Revision generally affects several provisions of the constitution, while amendment generally affects only the specific provision being amended. The quantitative test asks whether the proposed change is " so extensive in its provisions as to change directly the 'substantial entirety' of the constitution by the deletion or alteration of numerous existing provisions. The court examines only the number of provisions affected and does not consider the degree of the change. " The
All research is not equal. This chapter provides some basic tips for evaluating the research used in your academic writing. Being able to read and evaluate research will also serve you well in your professional practice. But I want to reiterate a point previously made: No single study should be the final word on anything. You will need to review many studies to get a sense of any topic in any field. Reviewing multiple studies from multiple perspectives provides context for your topic and also acts as check on extreme or outlier positions.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PILATES METHOD IN THE AGING PROCESS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW (Atena Editora), 2024
Population aging is a global reality, affecting both developed and underdeveloped countries. In the Brazilian context, the number of elderly people has shown a rapid increase, highlighting the importance of approaches to promote active aging. The objective of this research is to highlight the therapeutic effects of the Pilates method on the aging process. This integrative review investigates the importance of the Pilates method for elderly people over 60 years of age, as an intervention method, mainly for the active aging factor. For this purpose, a bibliographical search was carried out in the Scielo, LILACS and Pubmed databases. Considering the continuous increase in the elderly population, the results indicate that the pilates method plays a fundamental role and is a valuable tool for each individual, carried out by trained physiotherapists, being beneficial in preventing falls, in addition to improving physical and mental conditioning, being a low-impact alternative that addresses several aspects, such as mobility, flexibility, muscular strength and balance, all of these physical capabilities are important to contribute to physical fitness. The regular practice of exercises, such as Pilates, shows us to have a positive impact on the quality of life, leading to global strengthening, bringing personal autonomy, in addition to contributing to knowledge and its implications. However, it is important to highlight that the research highlighted the need for more studies to understand these long-term effects and modality.
The Routledge Handbook of French History, 2024
The dynastic imperative of any hereditary king is to provide healthy sons who can perpetuate his family into future generations. But men being unable to give birth, the responsibility for producing heirs naturally falls upon the monarchs’ wives. French kings sought spouses for themselves and their heirs from across the royalty and nobility of Europe. Viewed separately, these women span a remarkable range, but when considered together, they reflect larger developments in domestic and international politics and provide a window into how a decentralized, factious medieval kingdom evolved into one of the most powerful and influential states of modern Europe.
