This thesis presents a reconstruction of marriage patterns within the nobility of the Khitan Empire (or Liao Dynasty, 916-1125). The empire was founded by the nomadic Khitan people, who shared cultural and linguistic ties with the Mongols and held sway over the northernmost regions of China. Emperors of the Khitan Empire all belonged to the “Horizontal Tent” clan and are commonly identified by the Chinese surname “Yelü.” Conversely, empresses originated from the “Imperial Uncles’ Tent” clan and bore the surname “Xiao.” The remarkable stability observed in imperial marriages was underpinned by a rigorous matrimonial tradition. This tradition encompassed intermarriage between closely related in-law relatives over multiple generations and deliberate discrimination against the offspring of secondary spouses. The two “Tent” clans of the empire rallied numerous clans around them, forming two larger exogamous units that effectively divided the nobility into two distinct moieties.

This book examines the relationship between cultural difference and practical knowledge and its implications for the study of humanities and the social sciences. It sketches a meta-theory of Western thought to grasp the conceptual distortions that result when a normatively structured theoretical way of understanding the world seeks to displace practical forms of understanding. The book draws on both Western thinkers such as Nietzsche, Marx, Wittgenstein and Foucault and Indian thinkers such as Gandhi, Tagore and Balagangadhara to formulate a practical epistemology that delimits theoretical knowledge by regenerating experiential knowledge that was the hallmark of Indian intellectual traditions and provides the intellectual resources for rejecting normativity. By thus preparing the ground for a radical reconceptualization of the human sciences it seeks to overcome the loss of concepts and the violence generated by the grafting of ill–understood and experience-occluding normative conceptual structures on the fabric of practical life. Finally, the author offers an alternative conceptualization of Indian sociality through the idea of a practitional matrix, which explains both why the West necessarily misunderstood or misdescribed India and how that misdescription enables us to theorize the West. The large number of stillbirths caused by streptococcus agalactiae globally is a matter of great public health concern, particularly in areas that have poorly developed healthcare systems. This article examines the condition of stillbirth associated with Streptococcus agalactiae. It addresses therapeutic possibilities, microbiological features, treatment issues, and epidemiological data. The review underpins the necessity for new therapies considering antibiotic resistance and probes into bacteriocins derived from vaginal microbiota. Clinical data support their ability to reduce GBS colonization and arrest vertical transmission. Therefore, more research and clinical trials are needed to validate and maximize bacteriocin use. Collaboration across countries is essential if this innovative therapeutic approach is to be implemented widely for improved maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

Ikan sasau (Hampala macrolepidota Kuhl & van Hasselt, 1823) adalah satu spesies yang ada di Danau Singkarak. Background It's common to experience chronic low back pain (CLBP), having serious psychological as well as physical implications. The experience of CLBP and its management depends greatly on cognitive and behavioral aspects. However, there is a requirement for a valid and reliable instrument that assesses the characteristics associated with this condition. Purpose The Cognitive Behavior Questionnaire in Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain (CBQ-NSCLBP), a questionnaire for measuring cognitive behavior was created and validated for this study. Methodology To validate the instrument, the consensus technique with two rounds of the modified Delphi process was used. With a varied background, 13 experts in the field were specifically chosen. Utilizing the literature review, an outline of the questionnaire was created. Each of the suggested things was evaluated by the experts using a five-point Likert scale. The items completed the descriptive analysis using the criteria for validation and elimination. Results The research findings showed that the CBQ-NSCLBP had good psychometric characteristics. The content Validity Ratio (CVR) (Critical) for a panel size (N) of 13 is 0.54 & for CBQ-NSCLBP is 0.70, which was regarded as indicative of strong content validity. Test-retest reliability showed that intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) values for all the items were greater than 0.9 which indicates excellent reliability. Spearman's correlation test between CBQ-NSCLBP and the Survey of Pain Questionnaire-Brief (SOPA-B) has shown that all the items are valid since the correlation value is higher than the cutoff value (0.139). Exploratory Factor Analysis was performed and three factors were retained based on eigenvalue greater than one. Conclusion In order to evaluate cognitive behavior in Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain (NSCLBP), we created this tool. This will make it easy to understand the level of cognition in NSCLBP patients.

Introduction: Retroperitoneum is the third most common extragonadal site for occurrence of teratoma in children, after sacrococcygeal region and gonadal sites. Although many authors have previously reported laparoscopic removal of benign retroperitoneal teratoma in adults, the experience in pediatric setting is extremely limited. Material and methods: We report our experience with laparoscopic excision of a mature cystic retroperitoneal teratoma occurred in a 13-year old girl, focusing on operative technical details. Results: Primary laparoscopic excision of the retroperitoneal was achieved without intraoperative complication. Histological examination of the mass revealed a benign mature teratoma. At 3-month follow-up the patient is doing well and present no recurrence of disease; cosmetic result is excellent. Psychostimulants target the dopamine transporter (DAT) to elicit their psychomotor actions. Bile acids (BAs) can also bind to DAT and reduce behavioral responses to cocaine, suggesting a potential therapeutic application of BAs in psychostimulant use disorder. Here, we investigate the potential of BAs to decrease drug-primed reinstatement when administered during an abstinence phase. To do this, after successful development of cocaine-associated contextual place preference (cocaine CPP), cocaine administration was terminated, and animals treated with vehicle or obeticholic acid (OCA). When preference for the cocaine-associated context was extinguished, mice were challenged with a single priming dose of cocaine, and reinstatement of cocaine-associated contextual preference was measured.
