La comunicación escrita es fundamental para el funcionamiento de la vida académica, y la publicación, su principal mecanismo de promoción. Aunque las funciones que cumple la escritura son válidas para cualquier dominio de conocimiento, cada comunidad discursiva las realiza por medio de recursos lingüísticos y géneros específicos.

La producció de textos escrits és una de les tasques fonamentals en les institucions acadèmiques. Serveix per a la transferència de coneixement, per a la integració dels nous membres acadèmics en les respectives comunitats discursives i per entendre millor els temes sobre els quals es treballa. Donat l’efecte clarificador i organitzador que té l’escriptura, convé que la redacció sigui part del procés de recerca i no només una activitat que es realitza un cop acabada aquesta. En aquest treball abordem de manera pràctica i senzilla els processos de redacció i publicació, aturant-nos en alguns detalls que faciliten la complexa tasca de produir textos publicables. / The production of written texts is a fundamental task in academic institutions. It serves not only as a mean for knowledge transmission and integrations of newcomers to the respective discourse community but also to understand better the topic under scrutiny. Because of the clarifying and organizing effect of writing, it is suggested that writing should become part of the research process and should not be left after the research is finished. In this work we approach, in a practical and easy way, the processes of text production and publication, taking special care of the details that facilitate the complex task of composing publishable texts.

In 70 AD Jerusalem was conquered and the temple in Jerusalem was looted and destroyed, and among the war trophies, trophies that were part of the triumphal procession, were the precious objects taken as plunder from the temple in Jerusalem, including the seven-armed chandelier of solid gold, the gold table on which the 12 loaves of bread were placed, the embroidered curtain, the golden vessels and a Torah scroll later given by the emperors Vespasian and Titus to the temple of the goddess of peace. The triumphal arch erected in the Forum in honour of Titus was decorated with relief reproductions of these trophies and depictions of scenes from the war in which the Jews had been so cruelly defeated. After the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD a large number of the people and a significant number of scholars who had escaped with their lives took refuge in Jamnia and established an academic school there on the initiative of Yohanan ben Zakkai. This place and this school were to become the spiritual center of Judaism in place of the destroyed one. Here in Jamnia, Yohanan ben Zakkai gathered together scholars and scholars who created a new system of religious law that was later applied in all the countries where Jews were scattered. Here civil laws were drawn up, curricula were drawn up, prayers were established, holiday ceremonies were set, which were later adopted by all Jews in the Diaspora. Judaism was reorganising itself around the thinking of the Pharisees, but with the destruction of the Temple, the Sadducees had ceased their role and were out of history.

This is part of the dossier “Connecting both Indies: rethinking archaic globalisation and global history from a Pacific perspective: actors, spaces, and exchanges” Starting in 1573 with the establishment of Manila, the circulation of Chinese goods along the trans-Pacific route brought the Ming Dynasty and the Spanish Empire into contact. Consequently, many people from Fujian Province, especially Zhangzhou city, went to Manila and facilitated the operation of the city. This paper examines the interactions of Zhangzhou immigrants in Manila, focusing their roles and living situations in Parián, the designated neighborhood for the Sangleys. In particular, the diplomatic conversation concerning the 1603 Incident is analyzed to elucidate how the Sangleys were perceived by both the Ming court and the Spanish governors. Records produced by Chinese elites, local gazetteers, and Spanish correspondence reveal the conflicts and negotiations between the Ming government and officials of the Spanish Empire concerning this matter, as well as local and state differences in views. While the contributions of the Sangleys were recognized and used to promote the moral superiority of both sides, they were not seriously considered by either the Chinese court or the Spanish government. The Sangleys offer a unique perspective on the positioning of these two state powers: Each desired to maintain a peaceful relationship yet simultaneously adopted a cautious stance. This study illuminates some of the connections and conflicts which emerged during early modern globalization.
