Abstract. Teaching and learning software design patterns (DPs) is not an easy task. Apart from learning individual DPs and the principles behind them, students should learn how to apply them in real-life situations. Therefore, to make the learning process of DPs effective, it is necessary to include a project component in which students, usually in small teams, develop a medium-sized software application.

Abstract. Software engineering education faces increasing pressure to provide students with those skills required to solve different kinds of software problems both, alone or as a member of a development team. Consequently, one of the main goals of software engineering curriculum is to teach students how to model, design and implement software, as well as how to exploit previous successful experiences and knowledge of others in solving similar problems.

The discussion on the principles and rules to understand the text of prophetic traditions can never be dispensed with by a student of Islamic studies. Hence, we can observe that there are scholars who have developed principles and rules to understand the text of prophetic traditions as a discipline. One of the principles used to understand the text of prophetic traditions is the principle of understanding traditions through historical and temporal contextualization. There is no doubt that the principle of historical and temporal contextualization has a significant contribution to ensure a correct understanding of the prophetic traditions. The failure to refer to, and rely on the principle of historical and temporal contextualization would lead to an inaccurate and incomplete understanding of the prophetic traditions such as in situations when there are seemingly contradictions among several narrations. Therefore, this research aims at highlighting the importance of this principle an...
It has been over 20 years since Donna R. Gabaccia's seminal work Italy's Many Diasporas was published (London & New York, 2000), an overview of the social, cultural and economic history of Italy's various migrations. Much has changed since then, but this book remains a classic. In this roundtable, historians Lucy Riall, Pamela Ballinger and Konstantina Zanou reflect on the value of Gabaccia's work and on the historical moment of its production. They discuss with the author the developments in the historiography of Italian and other diasporas during the last two decades, and offer insights on new avenues of research including settler colonialism, race and belonging, migration and environmental change, global microhistory and biography, and the Mediterranean context of Italy's migrations.

Recently, complex interpretations of socio-cultural change in the ancient Mediterranean world have emerged that challenge earlier models. Influenced by today's hyper-connected age, scholars no longer perceive the Mediterranean as a static place where Graeco-Roman culture was dominant, but rather see it as a dynamic and connected sea where fragmentation and uncertainty, along with mobility and networking, were the norm. Hence, a current theoretical approach to studying ancient culture has been that of globalization. Certain eras of Mediterranean history (e.g., the Bronze Age and Roman empire) known for their increased connectivity have thus been analyzed from a globalized perspective that examines rhizomal networking, cultural diversity, and multiple processes of social change. Archaeology has proven a useful discipline for investigating ancient globalization because of its recent focus on how identity is expressed through material culture negotiated between both local and global influences when levels of connectivity are altered. Insularity, or the socially recognized differences expressed by people living on islands, is a form of self-identification created within a particular space and time. The papers in this volume argue that insularity, as a unique social identity affected by global forces, should be viewed as an important research paradigm for archaeologies concerned with re-examining cultural change.

[FROM THE HISTORY OF MANUSCRIPT MONUMENTS OF THE KOMI-PERMYAK WRITING OF THE LATE 18th – EARLY 20th CENTURIES: AUTHORS, GENRES, DIALECTS]2023 •
