This deliverable reports on a vision of the future for the LTLL tools and language technology for e-learning generally. The LTfLL tools and infrastructure are presented in terms of three layers (subsections), which are ultimately based on the final validation results. Layer one describes achievements and their importance. Layer two describes requiremets for adoption and sustain ability. And layer three describes logical extensions which could be made for any future versions of the tools.

Deliverable 5.2 LTfLL – Learning support and feedback2010 •
In this paper we propose the use of language engineering techniques to improve and systematize the development of e-learning applications. E-learning specifications usually rely on domain-specific languages that describe different aspects of such final e-learning applications. This fact makes it natural to adopt well-established language engineering principles during the construction of these applications. These principles promote the specification of the structure and the runtime behavior of the domain-specific languages as the central part of the development process. This specification can be used to drive different activities: rapid prototyping, provision of authoring notations and tools, automatic model checking of properties, importation/exportation from/to standards, and deployment of running applications. This language engineering concept also promotes active collaboration between instructors (the users of the languages) and developers (the designers and implementers) throughout the development process. In this paper we describe this language-driven approach to the construction of e-learning applications and we illustrate all its aspects using a learning flow sequencing language as a case study.
Recognition of professional competence over the last few decades has become a key issue for member governments of the European Union. As a result of this demand, the purpose of the project herein presented is two-fold. On the one hand, official recognition and certification of foreign language levels, for both general and specific purposes, as based on national and European guidelines, frames the content and development of the first of the main objectives we pursue. On a professional level, the users of this proposal consist of individuals with specific language learning needs, be those beginner levels established in the project, be those refresher levels of previously learned content, or simply those pertaining to life long learning. On the other hand, the second cornerstone on which this project is based is that of utilizing information technology as the means of support through which the education for linguistic certification takes place. In this sense, technology becomes the sec...
