The advent Information technology and Computers played a cardinal role in easing the transactional work of handling enormous data. From the HR's perspective, this has strategically aided HR work comprising of talent management, payroll, time attendance, record processing, performance management, T&D, employee engagement etc. With the help of using various software, cloud commutingERP etc., HR can preserve the record and retrieve easily for making strategic decisions. HR has travelled from the routine time and record keeping function to strategic role HR has become crucial in determining organizations success. The Paper is based on secondary data and has attempted to identify the recent trends and developments in technological advancement in HR function. The paper will present various aspects of HR and IT technology and how it is impacting HR in strategic role of HR. This paper will also analyze the challenges faced by HR Managers due to the advancement of technology.

HRM (human resource management) is especially important in a knowledge-based economy, where ideas and expertise are greatly valued, and a creative and innovative workforce is necessary to meet the challenges of this new economy. Efficient and effective management of human capital is increasingly an imperative and complex process. As a result, there has been a considerable increase in the number of organizations gathering, storing, and analyzing information regarding their HRs through the use of a software which is HRIS (human resource information system). The growing importance of HRIS is due to the recognition of HR practitioners that IT (information technology) and IS (information system) should be a part of HR functions mainly to develop and use better HRM programmes. This adoption of HRIS by organizations combined with the increasing sophistication of this software, presents the HR function with new challenges which demands the HR professionals to participate and contribute fully to their companies, as true strategic business partners. This study attempts to identify the effectiveness and the importance of the use of HRIS on the HR functions of an organization. It includes the top management, managers, and executive of HR working in manufacturing, service and IT sectors. Results provide insights into HRIS practice, its effects, effectiveness and shows that HRIS is of direct significance verifies completeness of the HR function and also provides HR professionals with opportunities to enhance their contribution to the strategic direction of the firm.

In this modern world, industries like MNCs are managing complex business processes & it is difficult for those big companies to manage different sectors of one in a centralized manner like, various aspects of HR management including recruitment, employee performance, payroll and learning activities. This is where the need of SAP (System, Applications & Products) arises which helps by providing control over different business processes. SAP ERP is enterprise resource planning software developed by the company SAP SE. ERP, or enterprise resource planning, software is modular software made to integrate the main functions of an organization's core business processes into a unified system. It is designed in a way to facilitate flawless development and management of business processes and solutions that allow data processing & information flow across an organization to be seamlessly integrated. SAP ERP provides multiple business solutions and functions, with a single view of truth, by centralizing data management of the different sectors. SAP provides solutions over a wide range of areas such as ERP, CRM, HR Management, Finance management. In this project we are developing portals that manage & process from different sectors of the company.

The aim of the study was to do a comparative study to find the various software packages of human resource information system (HRIS) used by organizations operating in India. In this era of information explosion, in a developing country like India , human resources should be managed well and to do so, an integration of technology with the day today activities of employees should be the prime focus of organizations, operating in any domain.
