A study was conducted to investigate changes in the activity of the enzymes invertase and cellulase, as well as soluble proteins and free amino acids during growth and development of fruits of jujube cvs.Tufahi(Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk) and Bambawi(Zizphus spina-christi Wild). The results indicated that the pattern of changes in invertase was similar in fruits of both cultivars, as the activity was low during early stages of development,but the activity increased as the fruit advanced toward ripening and then activity declined as the fruit entered an over ripe stage.For cellulase, the activity was high earlier in fruits of Tufahi as compared with fruits of the cultivar Bambawi. However,the activity of cellulase in fruits of both cultivars declined rapidly as the fruits entered an over ripe stage.Levels of free amino acids was high during early stages of fruit growth in of both cultivars, but levels declined rapidly as fruits advanced toward an over ripe stage.As for soluble proteins...

Dry land systems spread all over the world and comprise 41.3% of the terrestrial area, which host 34.7% of the global population, so it is convenient to propose crops able to grow there. Jatropha curcas is a plant adapted to arid and semiarid regions as well as sub-humid conditions, being a potential source of biodiesel. The challenge is to understand the physiology of J. curcas, which enables it to live under saline and drought conditions. The seeds of J. curcas used came from Ciego de Ávila Province, Cuba. Seven-day-old seedlings were cultivated in 1.5 L pots with half strength Hoagland solution for 42 days under semi-controlled conditions. NaCl added to solutions in pots provided 75 or 150 mM treatments for 240 h before measurements. Leaf growth, net photosynthesis and stomatal pore area were affected by 150 mM NaCl. The present study was laid out in order toevaluate the effect of salinity on some biochemical characterize of grapevine c.vYaghouti. The experiment was done at Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center, Ilam, Iran at 2014. The experiment was a completely block design (CRD) with four replications. Saline factor was NaCl salinity in seven levels (Zero, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mM). Grape scions were planted in beds containing equal proportions of sand, perlite and vermiculite in 20-L vases. The vases were nourished by half Hoagland nutrient solution for first three weeks after plantation. In order to create the desired salinity levels, another half of the Hoagland nutrient solution was salinized with 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mMNaCl.
