This article elucidated the level of abaca production in Eastern Visayas, Philippines, and developed a statistical model that determined its significant governing factors. A cross-sectional survey and primary data collection were done to gather sufficient information through a face-to-face interview with a random sample of 349 abaca farmers. The study used standard statistical metrics to describe the data and presented it in a tabular form. In addition, ordinal regression was employed to model the factors governing the level of abaca production in the Region and tested its significance at standard level. Results portrayed that, on average, the production of the abaca industry in Eastern Visayas is considered at a moderate level. This implies that the abaca production in the region has still room for improvement. It is found that abaca farmers in the region only interact with the traders and have no engagement with other players such as enablers (PhilFIDA, SUCs, and LGU) due to some constraints. The results of the first ordinal regression revealed that the factors affecting the level of abaca production are the age of farmers (1 =0.027, p-value=0.003) and the size of the farm (6 =-0.564, p-value<0.001). This implies that older farmers are more knowledgeable in applying innovative techniques that enhance production activities. Moreover, the smaller size of the abaca farm is easy to manage and apply technologies to improve production levels as opposed to bigger farms. The second ordinal regression showed that farming experience (4 =0.015, p-value=0.038) is a significant predictor of abaca production level which indicates that experienced farmers are more productive and competitive.

this study reflects on how ocupações help us reinterpret our relations with each other and the Earth. We unpack what it means for someone to belong in a housing movement, in the physical and organisational space of an ocupação, and through that in belonging to the larger city and the Earth. We deploy a conceptual framework that borrows from staying with the trouble (Haraway, 2016), pluriverse (Escobar, 2017), and theories on radical interdependence and repair.

Archaeologists of the Herman Ottó Museum have been conducting excavations in the territory of the lignite mine in Bükkábrány since 2007. As the total area scheduled for mining must be surveyed and, where necessary, excavated, they had an unparalleled opportunity to unearth complete sites even if those extend to a couple of hectares; however, the timeframe was (and still is) often narrow. The authors excavated a multi-period site com-prised of the records of various historical periods from the Neolithic to the Roman Imperial Period on Site VIII in 2017–2020. The most prominent horizons consisted of the archaeological remains of Copper and Iron Age occupations, respectively, with both settlement features and cemeteries from both periods. The chemical investigation of the anti-yeast methanol extract from the stem bark of Terminalia mantaly led to the isolation of seven compounds: 3-O-methyl-4-O-α-rhamnopyranoside ellagic acid (1), 3-O-mehylellagic acid (2), arjungenin or 2,3,19,23-tetrahydroxyolean-12-en-28-oïc acid (3), arjunglucoside or 2,3,19,23-tetrahydroxyolean-12-en-28-oïc acid glucopyranoside (4), 2α,3α,24-trihydroxyolean-11,13(18)-dien-28-oïc acid (5), stigmasterol (6), stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7). Their structures were established by means of spectroscopic analysis and comparison with published data. Compounds 1-5 were tested in vitro for activity against three pathogenic yeast isolates, Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis and Candida krusei. It is shown that the basis of the periodic system of elements is a cyclical change in the moment of distribution of valence electrons as one of the parameters of the inhomogeneity of the system. An approximate expression of this moment is found through the degree of filling of the outer shell of an atom and on its basis a graphical representation of a periodic law is proposed, taking into account its number, charge, atomic radius and distribution of valence electrons. The graph reveals the existence of additional periods ending in inert metals, not only in known elements but also in the group of lanthanides and actinides, allowing them to be organically incorporated into the periodic system. The consistency of such a representation of the classical and quantum models of atoms is shown.
