Teaching Philosophy
There is an array of resources on how to write a philosophy paper, both in print and online. However, the existing resources rarely discuss writing a research paper within the discipline of philosophy. What is typically missing from philosophical writing instruction is the point made by Richard Watson: a philosopher should seek to " enter the dialogue—the conversation—that is the lifeblood of philosophy " (1992). Philosophical writing happens within a community, and what occurs in journals and monographs is the continuation of a conversation that has been going on for over 2000 years. Here I argue for the merits of encouraging students to think of philosophy scholarship as an ongoing conversation, as this will help them to discover significant problems to write on and form more manageable theses; I also describe specific methods for helping students to find scholarly conversations on topics that interest them and enter into that dialogue.
Web 2.0 tools acts as information facilitators to provide the essential information not only on demand but also in improvise of its use. These tools through LIS professionals appreciate to meets the library users of information need. The present study has been carrying out with an observation to examine the application of various Web 2.0 tools by the IIT Libraries website. The data used for the present study were collected through intensive content analysis of the library websites of the sixteen IITs in India. It has been revealed that 12 (75%) of IIT Library websites adopted Web 2.0 tools in their library webpages whereas remaining other not adopting still now. Most of the IIT Libraries offers the facility of Web OPAC to search the various information resources available in their libraries. The result indicated that IIT Indore used the highest number of Web 2.0 tools in the library website.

Information literacy models reflect the dynamic learning process, build meaningful connections between existing and new knowledge. Using these models which lay emphasis on discovery, insight, and resource based learning, the learner gains knowledge rather than unreceptively absorbing it. The present paper throws light on various Information Literacy & Research models which enable strategic planning for sustainable research. Some of the Models examined include The Big6; the Stripling and Pitts Research Process Model; PLUS model; Kuhlthau’s Information Search Process Model; the SCONUL Seven Pillars of Information Skills Model.
