When we talk about the rate of a chemical reaction, what we mean is the rate at which reactants are converted into products. The rate of a reaction decreases as time progresses. In this article, we provide insight into the derivation of the rate of decrease of reaction velocity with time and Eyring Equation which can be applied with considerable success to a wide variety of rate processes.

20.05.2024 Miljana Radivojević-"The Rise of Metallurgy in Eurasia: Archaeological science and new interpretations" This seminar talk will present the synthesis of more than two decades of work on the origins and evolution of early metallurgy in the Balkans, which is currently the world's earliest recorded. Extensive archaeomaterials and archaeological science research, combined with field campaigns and experimental reconstruction, provide an insight into the lives of metal-making communities 7,000 years ago. The quest for the 'earliest' has over the years been replaced with the quest for understanding the origins and evolution of the knowledge of metal-making.

Not even a dozen burials are known from Neolithic times in the area of modern-day Mongolia. This period is of utmost interest as it constitutes the transitional phase from hunter-gatherer-fisher communities during the Palaeolithic to the introduction of mobile pastoralism around 3000 B.C.E. with the Afanas'evo culture. This article presents new excavation results from a Neolithic burial at "Ölziȋt Denzh" (internal site code KGS-11), near the center of Erdenemandal in Arkhangaȋ Aȋmag, Central Mongolia, and places this burial in the context of the earliest graves in Mongolia. The site consists of nearly 180 indistinct earth mound features, one of which was excavated to verify anthropogenic origin of the identified mounds. All mounds were strongly affected by burrowing animals. The excavation yielded the body of a female in an extremely crouched position. The find inventory contains two unique stone artifacts. Two radiocarbon dates put the burial at the first half of the fourth millennium B.C.E. The other 10 earliest burials from Mongolia fall into two regional groups, one in the Egiȋn Gol valley of northern Mongolia and one in eastern Mongolia; each group displays different burial customs and grave structures. Although it remains to be corroborated by further excavations, the pure earth mounds and their association within a large burial ground at Ölziȋt Denzh seem to be unique aspects of a burial style otherwise unknown for this time and region, as the comparison with the other largely contemporary remains from Mongolia shows. This article therefore aims to draw attention to a potentially new form of burial that has not previously been recognized in the field. Full article: https://www.muse.jhu.edu/article/871373

Learner autonomy is a newly born phenomenon which has made teaching learning process an interesting, rich experience to both teachers and learners who are no longer considered as two separate components within the classroom, but they are two unified actors who share mutual responsibility in relation to the way learning and teaching is carried, and what capacities to be used to reach full responsibility in their learning and to end up with as a dynamic learner and a highly conscious citizen. This concept has been introduced in various contexts either in western or Arab contexts and it has been subject to various contexts which interpreted it locally and among these Algeria whose educational system witnessed series of reforms mainly the Competency Based Approach in primary , middle and secondary schools and the LMD system at the university level. Both of them advocated a philosophy of learner centered , thus learner autonomy is the core feature which made and is still making a revolution in the field of teaching and learning in Algeria. This paper explores the current teaching practices in Algeria and the place of autonomy within them. It aims to make series of suggestions to bring about change so as to make an autonomous based approach a stable , easily implemented pedagogy in a context like Algeria by means of making the Algerian classroom a modern space where it is characterised by the use of technology and making the learning process highly motivating and individual with the presence of the wise man or the teacher whose expertise and experience lead learners to be critical and not easily manipulated. This paper reviews the numerous challenges associated with the prebiotic formation of amino acids and functional proteins through naturalistic means. We examine the hurdles in obtaining amino acids prebiotically and the subsequent difficulties in polymerizing these into functional peptides. The review categorizes these challenges into several key areas, including thermodynamic and kinetic barriers, chirality issues, and the improbability of forming functional sequences. We conclude that the formation of a minimal functional proteome through purely naturalistic processes faces significant obstacles that current origin of life models struggle to overcome.

Psychotherapists often see trauma victims in their offices. And some see them in camps, hospitals, and schools. Researchers have learned much about the treatment of PTSD and other sequelae of trauma victims. But an assessment of the important role of spirituality has lagged behind other dimensions of recovery. This lack is what the 37 contributors of Spiritually Oriented Psychotherapy for Trauma address in twelve chapters that cover the relational trauma experiences of intimate partner violence and sexual assault as well as the painful experiences of the victims of war and natural disasters. In addition to a review of relevant research, readers will find case studies that illustrate how multiple dimensions of spirituality impact and are impacted by the experiences of trauma.
