Dehydroisoandrosterone was formylated at C-16 by a Vilsmeier reaction and by condensation with methyl formate. The product of the latter reaction was converted to 16-acetylandrosta-4,16-dien-3-one and its X-ray crystal structure was determined.
In this work Urban Surface Temperature Changes of Vijayawada City was studied using Remote Sensing and GIS. Vijayawada, a rapidly growing city is considered as a case study in which large amounts of area with greenery re converted in to built up surfaces. Land use land cover changes and conversion of greenery in to built up surfaces lead to development of high land surface temperatures. The estimation of temperature and area of high temperature are the main objectives of the study. Land sat satellite images of 2001 and 2014 are used for this study. A total area of 85515.75 hectares was taken as study area. After processing the imagery, thermal bands study area was clipped. Thermal band of Landsat images of 2001 and 2014 were used to estimate land surface temperature(LST) image using 'thermal' module of IDRISI Selva. The output LST images of 2001and 2014 shows temperature ranges from 24-39 O C. This temperature is at 10.00 a.m. since the satellite passing time over the study area is 5.00GMT. The total area has been divided into two categories high temperature and low temperature according to the temperature ranges. The low temperature range is between 24 to 30 o C and high temperature range is between 30 to 39 o C. The area with high temperature in the year 2001is 31104.8hectares and the area with low temperature is 54410.9hectares. The area with high temperature in 2014 is 47502.2 and the low temperature is 38013.6. The images of land surface temperature convey that urban LST not only increases but the area with high temperature also got increased significantly. This will affect the comfort of the city dwellers and suitable measures are to be taken to mitigate this urban heat island development.

It is difficult to test a distributed system because of the task of controlling concurrent events. Existing works do not propose the test sequence generation algorithm in a formal way and the amount of message is large due to synchronization. In this paper, we propose a formal test sequence generation algorithm using logical clock to control concurrent events. It can solve the control-observation problem and makes the test results reproducible. It also provides a generic solution such that the algorithm can be used for any possible communication paradigm. In distributed test, the number of channels among the testers increases non-linearly with the number of distributed objects. We propose a new remote test architecture for solving this problem. SDL Tool is used to verify the correctness of the proposed algorithm, and it is applied to the message exchange for the establishment of Q.2971 point-to-multipoint call/connection as a case study. concurrent events, control-observation problem distributed testing, logical clock, output-shifting faults, test sequence 1.

We propose and examine the usability and security of Cued Click Points (CCP), a cued-recall graphical password technique. Users click on one point per image for a sequence of images. The next image is based on the previous click-point. We present the results of an initial user study which revealed positive results. Performance was very good in terms of speed, accuracy, and number of errors. Users preferred CCP to PassPoints (Wiedenbeck et al., 2005), saying that selecting and remembering only one point per image was easier, and that seeing each image triggered their memory of where the corresponding point was located. We also suggest that CCP provides greater security than PassPoints because the number of images increases the workload for attackers.

A proposed wideband plasmonic optical fractal patch antenna is presented for use in intra/inter chip optical interconnects.The suggested plasmonic optical fractal patch antenna covering 3 optical communication bands: L-band (1565-1625nm), C-band (1530-1565nm), S-band (1460-1530nm), and most of E-band (1360-1460nm).The proposed antenna has a promising future use in inter and intra chip optical communications to eliminate electrical interconnection limitations such as interconnect density, power consumption and also increasing data rate.The proposed antenna is a rectangular tree-shaped fractal based.The performance of this antenna has been calculated using full wave simulation CST Microwave software.The bandwidth is largely enhanced by the first and second iterations rectangular tree-shaped external cut brick. The impedance bandwidth ( ≤ − ) of the second iteration is about 38.5 THz, which is about 4 times greater the bandwidth of initiator with a gain up to 7.5 dB and about 97% radiation efficiency throughout the operational bandwidth.
Activation of the serine-threonine kinase Akt promotes the survival and proliferation of various cancers. Hypoxia promotes the resistance of tumor cells to specific therapies. We therefore explored a possible link between hypoxia and Akt activity. We found that Akt was prolyl-hydroxylated by the oxygen-dependent hydroxylase EglN1. The von Hippel-Lindau protein (pVHL) bound directly to hydroxylated Akt and inhibited Akt activity. In cells lacking oxygen or functional pVHL, Akt was activated to promote cell survival and tumorigenesis. We also identified cancer-associated Akt mutations that impair Akt hydroxylation and subsequent recognition by pVHL, thus leading to Akt hyperactivation. Our results show that microenvironmental changes, such as hypoxia, can affect tumor behaviors by altering Akt activation, which has a critical role in tumor growth and therapeutic resistance.
