Kidney stone disease is a crystal concretion normally produced within the kidneys. it is the third most commen disorders of urinary system.kidney stone is a common condition causing significant morbidity and economic burden. At any point in their lives, between 1% and 15% of persons worldwide are affected by kidney stones. Kidney stones are of various types, of which calcium oxalate is the most common. Remarkable advances have been made in the treatment of kidney stones following the introduction of percutaneous nephrolithotomy and extra corporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL).Todays, Computed Tomography (CT) scan without contrast medium is the preferred screening method for investigating urolithiasis. The recurrence rate reaches approximate 50%, risen to 70% within 10 years, which is a significant problem in its therapy and management. Herbal therapies have found to be more effective with minimal associated after effects and also minimize the recurrence rate. Data from research and clinical trials showed that phytomedicine and plants derived products are useful in the treatment of kidney stone diseases. So the aims of present review to provide an update data about composition and mechanism of stone formation, current methods for investigation and the present trends in research of medicinal herbs used in the management of urolithiasis disorder.

Medicinal plants have been valued for millennia as a rich source of therapeutic compounds for the prevention of various ailments all throughout the world. Kidney stones and urinary calculi affect a huge percentage of the population nowadays. Stone sickness has become more prevalent as a result of changes in living conditions, such as industrialization and hunger. The most common stone recorded in India is calcium oxalate kidney stones. Changes in prevalence and incidence, the occurrence of stone kinds and stone position, and stone removal treatment are all discussed. Medicinal herbs have been utilised for centuries because they are safer, more effective, culturally acceptable, and have less adverse effects than manufactured medications. Patients are advised to consume a low-fat diet, as well as fibres from naturally occurring plants and herbal treatments. The current article discusses the steps that should be taken to maximise the potential of medicinal plants for stone dissolving action. Combining herbal remedies with allopathic treatment is an excellent way to eliminate all issues associated with kidney stones. The purpose of this article is to emphasise the use of herbs as a treatment for urinary stones.

Kidney and urinary stone disease (Nephrolithiasis and urolithiasis) are the condition where urinary stones or calculi are formed in the urinary tract. The problem of urinary stones is very ancient; these stones are found in all parts of the urinary tract, kidney, ureters, and the urinary bladder and may vary considerably in size. It is a common disease estimated to occur in approximately 12% of the population, with a recurrence rate of 70-81% in males and 47-60% in females. The treatment of kidney and urinary stone diseases such as a western (allopathy) medicine and surgery is now in trends. However, most people preferred plant-based (herbal) therapy because of the overuse of allopathic drugs, which results in a higher incidence rate of adverse or severe side effects. Very often patients, suffering from renal calculi are reluctant to surgery unless there is much trouble. They look for medical management whether allopathic, homeopathic or ayurvedic, to get rid of it. Literatures show effectiveness of homeopathic medicines in expulsion of moderate to big sized renal stones. This case reported here is such an example which again proves the importance of individualization and thus efficacy of homeopathic medicines in addressing the underlying cause and expulsion of renal stone. Phosphorus, a homoeopathic remedy has acted nicely and helped to clear the renal stone.

Aim: We aim to treat the poor and downtrodden tribal people of Adilabad district of Telangana State, South India, who are suffering from kidney stones, with locally available plants and with any side effects also without financial burden on them. Design of the study: Identifying the infected people with kidney stones based on the lab reports, explaining about our treatment, educating them, counseling them, treatment and precautionary measures. Place and Duration of Study: Adilabad district, Telangana State, South India. Duration of study is for two years that is 2018 to 2019. Methodology: We have identified around 24 patients (male and female) suffering from kidney stone ailment, but we have presented only six patients details in table form.
