The majority of organizations are competing to survive in this volatile and fierce market environment. Motivation and performance of the employees are essential tools for the success of any organization in the long run. On the one hand, measuring performance is critical to organization's management, as it highlights the evolution and achievement of the organization. On the other hand, there is a positive relationship between employee motivation and organizational effectiveness, reflected in numerous studies. This paper aims to analyze the drivers of employee motivation to high levels of organizational performance. The literature shows that factors such as empowerment and recognition increase employee motivation. If the empowerment and recognition of employees is increased, their motivation to work will also improve, as well as their accomplishments and the organizational performance. Nevertheless, employee dissatisfactions caused by monotonous jobs and pressure from clients, might weaken the organizational performance. Therefore, jobs absenteeism rates may increase and employees might leave the organization to joint competitors that offer better work conditions and higher incentives. Not all individuals are the same, so each one should be motivated using different strategies. For example, one employee may be motivated by higher commission, while another might be motivated by job satisfaction or a better work environment. Abstract This paper attempts to identify the impact of motivation on employee performance in order to address problems arising from motivational approaches in organizational settings in Mogadishu, Somalia. The paper had three main objectives which are: 1) To identify the relationship between work environment and organizational performance at secondary schools in Mogadishu. 2) To examine the relationship between cooperation and organizational performance secondary schools in Mogadishu, Somalia. 3) To explore the relationship between facilitation and organizational performance secondary schools in Mogadishu-Somalia. The researchers utilized convenient sampling to collect 100 questionnaires from twelve secondary schools in Mogadishu, Somalia. Employees of these schools provided a questionnaire with four main construct which measuring work environment, cooperation, facilitation and organizational performance. However, using correlation coefficient, the study found that organizational performance (Dependent variable) had significant positive influence with two independent variables namely, work

How can the harm caused by waves of fake news or derogatory speech on social media be minimized without unduly limiting freedom of expression? I draw on an eighteenth-century debate for thinking about this problem: Hume and Smith present two different models of the transmission of emotions and ideas. Empathetic processes are causal, almost automatic processes; sympathy, in contrast, means putting oneself into the other person’s position and critically evaluating how one should react. I use this distinction to argue that the architectural logic of social media should be improved to prevent cumulative harms and to facilitate sympathetic processes.

Background: Food safety is defined as the prevention of hazards carried by food at the time of consumption. FSSC 22000 consists of an international certification whose main objective is to ensure the supply of safe products to consumers all over the planet. This research aimed to map the main impacts of the implementation of the FSSC 22000 standards on the organizational structure of an agroindustrial cooperative located in the Southwest region of SaoPaulo. The Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Workplace Safety, Marketing and Production functional units were mapped. Materials and Methods: A single case study approach was used, classifying it as exploratory / descriptive research. As an instrument of data collection, the interview based on a semi-structured script was used, using the snowball technique, supported by documentary research and complemented with systematic observation. Results: The results point to several impacts, bringing as expected benefits the intensification of training / capacity building, performance evaluation, automation of processes, communication, standardization of procedures and monitoring, monitoring and surveillance, control of chemical products, signaling, storage of packages, segregation of waste, internal effort to prospect new markets, visual communication and consumer safety.

The transformation martensite-austenite and Kinetics in Ni-Ti-Hf shape memory alloys (SMAs) were calculated for the first time. The Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Komogorov (JMAK) equation was used to simulate the transformation Martensite-Austenite, which exhibited the same trends as the DSC test results. DSC studies were conducted using four different heating rates to study the kinetics of the thermally induced transformation process and the dependence of the kinetic parameters and the heating rate. It was clarified that the heating rate adjusts the enthalpies of transformation, indicating that the heating rate can be used to adjust the phase change parameter. The Arrhenius method was used to calculate the activation energies, and it was observed from its use that the activation energies increase as there is an increase in the ternary element in the composition. Moreover, using the same heating is a valuable means of comparing activation energies for the same alloy system. This study provides a reference for designing and calculating the kinetics of Ni-Ti-Hf high-temperature shape memory alloys.

Alignment of benzaldehyde materials with different photosensitivity thresholds, capable of changing the pretilt angles of nematic liquid crystal (LC) from 90° to 0° in a controlled manner under UV‐B exposure, has been developed. Inhomogeneous exposure of uniform rubbed alignment layers allows the formation of a refractive index gradient inside the LC cell. The concept of tunable polarization‐independent self‐aligned LC lens based on gradient pretilt angle alignment materials with different photosensitivity is demonstrated. Self‐alignment of two polarization‐dependent sub‐lens is achieved due to a single exposure act of two alignment layers, which are located on the same piece of glass on both sides, forming one common optical axis for a polarization‐independent LC lens. The sub‐lens cells have uniform cell gap and are independently controlled using low‐voltage driving. Devices based on gradient benzaldehyde alignment materials can be used in many modern optical and photonic devices.

ObjectivesTreatment for multidrug-resistant/rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB) is increasingly transitioning from hospital-centred to community-based care. A national policy for decentralised programmatic MDR/RR-TB care was adopted in South Africa in 2011. We explored variations in the implementation of care models in response to this change in policy, and the implications of these variations for people affected by MDR/RR-TB.DesignA mixed methods study was done of patient movements between healthcare facilities, reconstructed from laboratory records. Facility visits and staff interviews were used to determine reasons for movements.Participants and settingPeople identified with MDR/RR-TB from 13 high-burden districts within South Africa.Outcome measuresGeospatial movement patterns were used to identify organisational models. Reasons for patient movement and implications of different organisational models for people affected by MDR/RR-TB and the health system were determine...
