Interview with Nancy Fraser Jule Goikoetxea: Good afternoon, dear Nancy. Many thanks for accepting this interview for a special issue in Capital and Class. The special issue is on the 13 Marxist feminist theses we discussed in the IV international Marxist feminist conference. In your new book, Three Faces of Labor: Uncovering the Hidden Ties among Gender, Race, and Class, you speak about labor, class struggle, production and reproduction, intersectionality, climate change, empire, democracy, feminism, and anti-racism. All those issues were some of the main topics of the IV international MarxFem conference as well. Nancy Fraser: Okay. Nice to see you. Jule Goikoetxea: Nice to see you again. Nancy Fraser: This many years? Yeah. Jule Goikoetxea: All those authors who will appear in the special Issue attended the conference so the articles of the monograph will delve into how we understand labor and class, sex, gender and race, in order to expand inclusive emancipatory processes, so, I will ask you some questions on the themes of the conference, and then we go deeper into the content of your new book.

The 'archival turn' in film and media studies, by the end of the last century, was as much driven by centenary celebrations as it was impacted by the slow erasure of celluloid, loss of its materiality, and the digital becoming both a repository of celluloid era film histories, and new a mode of production, circulation and viewing. However, studies in film archives and historiography-methods of thinking through informal archives, minor archives, community archives, restoration, the ghosts and gaps in the archives etc., and multiple social lives of the cinematic, are generally limited to excavation of archival material and analyses of film cultures and industrial ecology, in which film texts are rarely in dialogue with their own archives. So, in an attempt to understand where lies the film archive, as well as to problematise the notion of archival material and its significance vis-à-vis film texts and film history, I refer to a Calcutta High Judgment (of 1957) to illustrate how a filmic text -- Mirza Ghalib (1954) -- operates through multiple registers, and in what way its history is entangled with a range of personal, collective, and socio-political narratives.

This paper presents some points of proximity between Peirce’s insights on the technical/artificial nature of cognition, and contemporary theories of extended cognition. By doing so, it sheds some new light on the possible relevance of Peirce’s philosophical approach for artificial intelligence, notably regarding the differences between the reasoning abilities of machines and those of humans.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most common forms of diabetes. We are living in the middle of a global diabetes epidemic. Emerging pieces of evidence are suggesting the increased expression of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) in the pancreas and adipose tissues during T2DM. The negative regulation of the insulin signaling pathway by PTP1B helps the researchers to consider it as a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of insulin resistance and its associated complications.
