Francesca Dell’Acqua Telling the Incarnation during Byzantine Iconoclasm The intention of this seminar is to offer regards croisés on how the image conveys narration in Byzantium and in West. Previous studies have traditionally insisted on accentuating the narrative dimension of western art, made to instruct and remind, while it has emphasised the cultic aspects of the Byzantine icon, seen as an embodiment of the divine. Today I will introduce objects, in particular enkolpia, that were contested between Byzantium and Rome, which were probably produced in multicultural centres, most likely pilgrimage sites, and were associated with iconophile practices. They reveal both the aspects – the narrative and the iconic – indicated above. Being relic containers and amulets, they were object of private devotion if not veneration. At the same time, their imagery tells the viewer about the Incarnation of the Logos, his redeeming agency, and the active role of the Theotokos (‘God bearer’) in the economy of salvation. Their imagery does this in ways that go beyond the conventions expected on a category of objects conceived to reach a wide and varied audience, and that seem to respond to contemporary theological and political preoccupations shared in the East and West in the period of the image controversy. The sources of these novelties can be retraced in liturgical texts (hymns and homilies), traditional as well as very recent, some of which are even transcribed on the enkolpia. We can imagine that hanging from the necks of believers, such amuletic-relic containers became means to pray, kiss, touch, and apprehend the Incarnate Logos.

Salah satu situs jejaring sosial yang dirancang untuk kepentingan pendidikan adalah Edmodo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang Edmodo, sekaligus menganalisis berbagai manfaat dan hambatan penerapannya dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengkaji pustaka relevan dan menganalisis data-data sekunder yang berkaitan dengan persepsi siswa, manfaat, dan hambatan pada penerapan Edmodo. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisis data, dapat diketahui bahwa sebagian besar siswa pada berbagai jenjang pendidikan memiliki persepsi positif terhadap Edmodo. Siswa merasa Edmodo mudah diakses dan digunakan, serta memberikan berbagai dampak positif yang dirasakan siswa. Edmodo bermanfaat meningkatkan komunikasi dan kolaborasi, motivasi, keterlibatan, performa dan hasil belajar siswa. Namun demikian, hambatan yang patut diwaspadai guru terutama adalah perlunya pengawasan untuk menjaga pembelajaran melalui Edmodo tetap berada dalam lingkup akademik dan efektif. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil berdasarkan hasil penelitian adalah bahwa Edmodo mendapatkan persepsi yang baik di pihak siswa dan sangat bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran. Hambatan yang terjadi pada penerapan Edmodo sebaiknya tidak menjadi penghalang para guru untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan teknologi

Raimondo di Sangro (1710-1771), Prince of Sansevero, is renowned for having made experiences on mineral palingenesis, among other things. This multidisciplinary article brings together approaches and methodologies of the history of science and of mineralogy, and presents innovative results obtained during two distinct surveys at the Museo Cappella Sansevero. It focuses on the techniques Raimondo implemented to create the blue and red pigments which he used to adorn the family chapel, as well as on his choice to use fluorite as a sculptural material. Our analyses confirm for the first time that the Prince of Sansevero was able to create artificial ultramarine. As of today, this seems to be the earliest ever recorded example of the production of this artificial pigment. Consequently, this study suggests that historical sources documenting di Sangro’s experiences should be seriously reconsidered. This article also contextualises Raimondo’s efforts within the Neapolitan networks of Freemasons, engravers and antiquarians.

From the moment that I began to study the ancient lowland Maya, I learned about the ground-breaking research conducted at Pulltrouser Swamp in northern Belize by Peter Harrison and B. L. Turner II in the 1970s and 80s (see Harrison and Fry 2000; Turner II and Harrison 1981; Turner II and Harrison 1983a). I first heard the name of the place in 1985 while a student on a field school based at Kichpanha. I distinctly remember finding the name hilarious and probably apropos! Sadly, we never visited the spot as part of the field school despite its proximity to our camp.

Listening comprehension is an active process in which the listener constructs meaning through using cues from contextual information and from existing knowledge, while relying upon numerous strategic resources to perform the task requirement, so it is very difficult to tech especially as foreign language, and needs appropriate media to teach it. This research is aimed to know whether or not Islamic film as media to teach listening effective. And what steps to teach listening using Islamic film as media. This research is mix method; the data was collected using test, questionnaire, interviews, and observation. The data then analysed by paired sample t-test, the data had been obtained was clarified by analysing the results of the questionnaire and in-depth interviews, and observation. The result show that there is significant difference students listening ability before and after giving film as media. As proved by the score of t account> t table using one-tailed, and degree of freedom 63 (19.516 > 1.68023, and the result of (P-Value) is also lower than alpha (0.000 < 0.05). The steps of teaching listening using Islamic film as media: First, the teacher was providing films in accordance with students' characteristic; the teacher then can skipped the one that was a bit pornographic. The next, the teacher determined time for listening subject, and created conducive atmosphere. The teacher then gave warming up to the students. After that the students were asked the teacher to watch film with subtitle. The next, the teacher asked students to note vocabulary at film that they did not understand the meaning, then looking the meaning on the dictionary or internet to know the meaning. The teacher then implement the film by asking students to watch film without using subtitle without being crowded. At the end of the lesson, the teacher asked some questions about the topic of the film, and evaluates them.

Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar os fatores que influenciam a contagem de células somáticas (CCS) em amostras de leite de tanques e analisar a distribuição destas amostras nas classes de escore de células somáticas (ECS). Foram analisadas 257.540 amostras de leite de tanques, provenientes de 32.590 rebanhos de 18 indústrias de laticínios, localizadas nos Estados de Santa Catarina, Paraná e São Paulo, associadas ao Programa de Análise de Rebanhos Leiteiros do Paraná (PARLPR) da Associação Paranaense de Criadores de Bovinos da Raça Holandesa (APCBRH), no período de janeiro de 1999 a novembro de 2001. Empregou-se o procedimento PROC GLM, do SAS, para o estudo dos seguintes efeitos: micro-região, ano e mês de análise, idade da amostra e rebanho. Penelitian ini di laksanakan di Desa Ketulungan Kecamatan Sukamaju Kabupaten Luwu Utara, pada Juli  2017 sampai dengan Februari  2018, bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pendapatan usahatani pola tanam jagung manis-sayuran. Lokasi penelitian dipilih secara sengaja berdasarkan jumlah petani yang paling banyak mengusahakan usahatani pola tanam jagung manis-sayuran yaitu sejumlah 244 petani. Responden dipilih secara acak sebesar 10% dari popolasi adalah 24 petani.  Data terdiri dari data primer yaitu data yang diperoleh secara langsung dari responden melalui wawancara dengan berpedoman pada daftar pertanyaan serta observasi lapangan, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi terkait yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini.
