The one-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria calls into question the temporality of disaster, both in terms of lived experience and analysis. It was difficult for Puerto Ricans to mark the first anniversary while so many still live Maria's daily effects physically, emotionally, and financially. Failing institutions and disaster recovery initiatives have too often deepened vulnerability in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, thus augmenting the confused sense of pre-and post-disaster. During a September Rutgers University symposium on the "Aftershocks of Disaster: Puerto Rico a Year after Maria" anthropologist Yarimar Bonilla suggested that perhaps Hurricane Maria was the "aftershock" itself, the culmination of over a century of colonial-capitalist exploitation and layered traumas. If Hurricane Maria was the aftershock, how can we think about disaster and disaster capitalism?

100 años de investigaciones arqueológicas en Bizkaia (1918-2018). Bilbao, 2020
This summary of our current knowledge of the Iron Age occupation of modern Biscay will describe the most characteristic traits of the settlements in the region, mostly belonging to the group of small fortified hillforts. A limited number of larger settlements are known, for which literature usually reserves the term of oppida. They are differentiated by their size, more complex forms of fortification and certain monumentality in their architecture. The large settlement of Arrola in Urdaibai is the best example of this second group. In its proximity, another public enclosure of unique characteristics was used as a large meeting-place, with terraced seating and a small level area in the centre. Its interpretation is still being debated owing to the lack of any clear evidence on which an explanation can be supported. Based on the sites that have been excavated, it can be stated that the hillforts were centres for a stable population and quite densely occupied in the areas used for that purpose. The domestic buildings were all quite flimsy constructions, as they were made mainly
with clay and wood. However, in their floor plans and arrangement, at least two different traditions can be observed, with examples that are rarely found together at the same site. One is the model of a round hut, the most common type in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, and the other is a type of house with angular corners, which was clearly inspired by the building methods and organisation of groups of houses in Iberian territory. Together with the dwellings, the settlements also included buildings used for farming activities and places related to metal-working.
The material record and absolute dates that are available indicate that the Late Iron Age was the time when most of the sites were occupied. Within that period, the final phase between the second century BC and the mid-first century AD was particularly important; some of the largest constructions documented inside the settlements were built in that phase, as can be see at Arrola and probably also at Bastazar-Gastiburu. Most of the funerary steles with astral and geometric motifs found in the eastern half of the province belong to that final period.

Primer Ciclo de entrevistas, 2022
«Teatralidad».

Unemployment among young people in India is a significant socio-economic problem with wide-ranging implications. This study investigates the various factors, such as educational mismatches, economic transformations, and demographic pressures, that contribute to the high levels of unemployment among young people in India. Youth unemployment has significant ramifications, affecting the overall welfare of individuals, the stability of the economy, and the cohesion of society. The severe consequences include heightened dependency ratios, mental health disorders, and the possibility of social upheaval. The paper also examines other policy measures taken to alleviate teenage unemployment, including skill enhancement programmes, incentives for entrepreneurship, and active labour market regulations. The study seeks to analyse these interventions in order to uncover efficacious tactics and optimal approaches to tackle youth unemployment in India. It attempts to provide recommendations to policymakers for promoting a labour market that is more inclusive and dynamic.
