Transport Reimbursement Policy For Academic Session 2017-18
The reimbursement of transportation cost / fees that are deposited by students to take the transport facility for the academic session 2017-18, shall be determined by the policies given as below:
• The reimbursement of once available transportation facilities is not allowed.
• The reimbursement of transport charges /fee can be claimed only for the following reasons:
a.) Admission withdrawn
b.) Availed the hostel facility of the University.
The reimbursement will be processed after making an effective deduction of the amount deposited or the collection of applicable transport costs in the table given below.

Immunosuppressive drugs can treat autoimmune disorders and limit rejection with organ transplants. However, delivering immunosuppressants like rapamycin systemically can have harmful side-effects. We aim to potentially reduce these toxic side-effects by encapsulating rapamycin in a polymeric microparticle to passively target phagocytes, the cells integral in immunosuppression. Acetalated dextran (Ac-DEX) is a recently described, biocompatible polymer which undergoes tunable burst degradation at the acidic conditions present in the phagosome (pH 5) but slower degradation at extracellular conditions (pH 7.4), thereby making it an ideal candidate for immune applications. There is limited and inconclusive information regarding detectable limits and linear dynamic ranges of various quantitative protein assays. We thus performed systematic comparisons of seven commonly used methods, including direct spectrophotometric quantitation at λ205 and λ280 nm (A205 and A280, respectively), bicinchoninic acid (BCA), Biuret, Bradford, Lowry and Ninhydrin methods. Purified BSA, porcine kidney extract, tryptic digested peptides derived from purified BSA, and glycine, were used as representative purified protein, complex protein mixture, peptide and amino acid, respectively. Rapamycin is an immunosuppressive agent used after organ transplantation, but its molecular effects on glucose metabolism needs further evaluation. We explored rapamycin effects on glucose uptake and insulin signalling proteins in adipocytes obtained via subcutaneous (n=62) and omental (n=10) fat biopsies in human donors. At therapeutic concentration (0.01μM) rapamycin reduced basal and insulin-stimulated glucose uptake by 20-30%, after short-term (15min) or long-term (20h) culture of subcutaneous (n=23 and n=10) and omental adipocytes (n=6 and n=7). Rapamycin reduced PKB Ser473 and AS160 Thr642 phosphorylation, and IRS2 protein levels in subcutaneous adipocytes. Additionally, it reduced mTOR-raptor, mTOR-rictor and mTOR-Sin1 interactions, suggesting decreased mTORC1 and mTORC2 formation. Dopamine receptors have been described in T-cells, however their signalling pathways coupled remain unknown. Since cAMP and ERKs play key roles regulating T-cell physiology, we aim to determine whether cAMP and ERK1/2-phosphorylation are modulated by dopamine receptor 3 (D3R) and D5R, and how this modulation affects CD4(+) T-cell activation and differentiation. Our pharmacologic and genetic evidence shows that D3R-stimulation reduced cAMP levels and ERK2-phosphorylation, consequently increasing CD4(+) T-cell activation and Th1-differentiation, respectively. Moreover, D5R expression reinforced TCR-triggered ERK1/2-phosphorylation and T-cell activation. In conclusion, these findings demonstrate how D3R and D5R modulate key signalling pathways affecting CD4(+) T-cell activation and Th1-differentiation.

Cysteine is the final product of the reductive sulfate assimilation pathway in bacteria and plants and serves as the precursor for all sulfur-containing biological compounds, such as methionine, S-adenosyl methionine, iron–sulfur clusters and glutathione. Moreover, in several microorganisms cysteine plays a role as a reducing agent, eventually counteracting host oxidative defense strategies. Cysteine is synthesized by the PLP-dependent O-acetylserine sulfhydrylase, a dimeric enzyme belonging to the fold type II, catalyzing a beta-replacement reaction. In this review, the spectroscopic properties, catalytic mechanism, three-dimensional structure, conformational changes accompanying catalysis, determinants of enzyme stability, role of selected amino acids in catalysis, and the regulation of enzyme activity by ligands and interaction with serine acetyltransferase, the preceding enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway, are described. Given the key biological role played by O-acetylserine sulfhydrylase in bacteria, inhibitors with potential antibiotic activity have been developed. Sphingolipids are essential components of eukaryotic cell membranes and are thought to be involved in a variety of cellular functions. Sphingomyelin is the most abundant sphingolipid in the nervous system. In this work, we explored the ligand binding function of the hippocampal serotonin(1A) receptor upon hydrolyzing sphingomyelin to ceramide and phosphocholine using sphingomyelinase. The serotonin(1A) receptor is an important neurotransmitter receptor and belongs to the superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors. It is involved in the generation and modulation of various cognitive, behavioral and developmental functions. We show here that specific agonist binding to serotonin(1A) receptors in native hippocampal membranes is considerably reduced upon sphingomyelinase treatment. Hydroperoxides are major products of the reactions of radicals and singlet oxygen with amino acids, peptides, and proteins. These species can generate radicals in the presence of metal ions and oxidize thiols via nonradical reactions, but the effects of these materials on cells are poorly understood. In this study the exposure of murine macrophage-like cells to preformed peptide or protein hydroperoxides is shown to result in hydroperoxide consumption and cellular thiol oxidation; these effects precede loss of cell viability. N-acetyltryptophan methyl ester hydroperoxides, but not the decomposed species, decreased total cellular thiols and GSH, with the latter occurring more rapidly. Time-dependent inhibition of lysosomal cathepsins B and L was also observed, together with diminished caspase 3/7 activity. A number of other cytosolic thiol- and non-thiol-dependent enzymes were not affected significantly. Hydroperoxides formed on BSA did not deplete total thiols or GSH within cells, although such reactions are rapid in model systems. In contrast, selective inhibition of cathepsins B and L (but not cathepsin D or arylsulfatase) of the endosomal-lysosomal system was detected, consistent with localization within these compartments. Decomposed BSA hydroperoxides did not induce these effects, indicating a requirement for the hydroperoxide group. The differences between these hydroperoxides are ascribed to their mechanisms of penetration into cells. Overall these studies provide valuable data on the initial cellular events arising from exposure to exogenous protein and amino acid peroxides and indicate that cellular thiols are a major target. This selective oxidation may modulate cellular redox balance and subsequent cell behavior.
