This paper considers some beginning steps
in introducing and developing web based e-learning
resources into seafarers’ education, as additional mode
of acquiring knowledge, at the Faculty of Maritime
Studies, which is a part of the University of
Montenegro. Some numerical and qualitative results of
the polls realized among a number of involved
students, teachers, and experts in the field, are
presented and discussed in order to identify pros and
cons of the issue, as well as the directions for further
acting. Finally, some empirically based suggestions
related to technical support in terms of software
platform and tools for creating more interesting,
engaging and inciting e-instructional materials are
given, as well.
