People learn something new every day. The lessons we learn help us avoid the mistakes we do and help to survive in the world. The education has become more than just a tool which passes the basic social and life skills necessary to secure a job, to be an active member of a peaceful community, and to have a fulfilling life. It has come to a level which determines the survival of a human being in the modern world. The education is the main driving factor in eradicating poverty. A well-educated person can push oneself and the society to create a positive effect on economic, social, political and environmental factors. The world is rapidly changing and a lot of educated people are coming out as the wealthiest people on Earth. The growth, sustainability, developments and the quality of the life of countries are determined by the quality of education as oppose to the typical economic KPIs. This research article attempts to identify the extent to which the judiciary of Sri Lanka has recognized the importance of education for its citizens and also the legislations accepted and referred to by the judiciary in safeguarding the right to education.
