The purpose of this study is to explain the implementation of IELTS Listening Practice application to improve students listening skills. As for the background of taking this tittle because of the importance of an application in the learning process in order to facilitate teachers in the learning process. IELTS Listening Practice is an application used in the teaching and learning process. Along with the times, we must also follow the times. Applications such as IELTS Listening Practice, are nothing but impacts of the times. IELTS Listening Practice application is an application for android which is having many features. It is designed according students' problem in listening comprehension. The features such as audio, video, conversation, IELTS test, quizzes are there in this application. This application also has many levels of learners, from beginner to advance with having test for every level. So, this application really gives benefits for students to improve their listening skills. A. Introduction In modern era like now, humans are very dependent on technology. This makes technology a basic need for everyone. From parents to young people, experts to ordinary people also use technology in various aspects of life. Today's technology has developed rapidly. Unlike the past, technology is very influential in aspects of human life and plays a role in the life of the wider community, especially the role of technology in the education. In education, technology now has its own role in the teaching and learning process. The results of technology have long been used in education. The invention of paper, printing machines, radio, films, TV, computer and others was used for education. In essence these tools are not made specifically for educational purposes , but the tools turned out to be able to be used in the world of education. The development of information technology that is increasingly rapid in the current era of globalization can not be avoided anymore influence on the world of education. To always and constantly adjust technological developments to efforts in improving the quality of education, especially adjusting the use of information and communication technology for education especially in the learning process. Basically, technology was created to facilitate human work. Nowadays technology has become a major human need. In the given paper the author explains the key peculiarities of ESP spoken (oral/vocal) language proficiency competences (listening and speaking competences) in the internationally acceptable levels of performance for Bachelor’s degree courses in the field computer engineering. It is singled out the main important reasons for IT/computer engineers to have high level of speaking and listening skills. It is pointed out that B2 language proficiency level is the standard of achievement for the Bachelor’s degree in accordance with the ESP Core Curriculum. In the given paper it is analyzed that finding which were discussed by other researchers before and singled out that issues which need further investigation. It was also given information about some concepts such as competence, and discussed the importance for future information technology engineers to have competences in such language skills as listening and speaking. Purpose.To analyze the historical background of the developing spoken language competences (listening and speaking) in the field of computer engineering. Methodology. Empirical: tests; and theoretical: chronological analyses.
Novelty. The scientific novelty is to determine the methodological prerequisite for the formation of future bachelors’ in computer engineering spoken(oral/vocal) language competence, to generalize the experience of leading scientists and to systematize scientific concepts / terms related to the formation of spoken(oral/vocal) language competence.
Conclusions. To sum up, this study shows that the problem of fostering spoken language proficiency competences in English for future bachelors of computer engineering was not the research interests of scientists before. The future perspectives for the research are formulating goals and defining the content of the spoken language proficiency competences in English for future specialists in the field of computer engineering.
