In the last few months, the euro zone crisis has impressed on the minds of millions of Europeans the long queues of Greek savers at the cash dispenser in order to withdraw enough money for the most important daily necessity. However these are not new images. The banking and financial crises in the last few years have compromised the possibility of putting aside the savings of very many citizens and workers. Starting from such a scenario, the article aims to extend the analysis regarding the savings in the Italian legal system. The most important aspect of the analysis is to defend the right to save as prescribed by article 47 of the Italian Constitution and the laws connected to it. Due to the European public law, there will be a significant passage of the savings from an objective dimension to subjective one in order to increase the rights of the savers. Obviously, there will be interlinking between savings defence laws with some of the laws regarding banking, starting from the 1936 law to recent Italian government laws concerned the and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms implementing the Directive 2014/59/UE (Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive).
