É davvero strano riprendere un articolo dopo 34 anni: Cà Palùi è finora l’unico sito, fra le Alpi e il fiume Po, conservante tracce di “officina litica” attribuibili al Paleolitico Inferiore/Medio. Ovvio che le valutazioni crono-culturali fatte allora (es. l’attribuzione a Homo erectus) vanno riviste. Due suoi bifacciali acheuleani possono suggerire particolari confronti: un hachereau (tipologia rara nei siti italiani) e uno ovalare, simile a quelli rinvenuti nel sito inglese di Boxgrove, datato a circa 500 ka BP.
It is really strange to resume an article after 34 years: Cà Palùi is so far the only site, between the Alps and the Po river, preserving traces of "lithic workshop" attributable to a middle part of the Lower Paleolithic. Obviously the chrono-cultural assessments made then (e.g. the attribution to Homo erectus) must be reviewed. Two of its Acheulian handaxes may suggest peculiar comparisons: an hachereau (a type very rare in Italian sites) and an oval one, comparable with those found on the English Boxgrove site, dated to about 500 ka BP.
