Mistagogy

La publicación que reseñamos es una explicación actual y sencilla del rito de la Santa Misa. El autor expone su objetivo: aprender a vivir la Santa Misa; y, como buen liturgias, desea servirse de la misma celebración litúrgica, del rito en sí mismo considerado para ir desentrañando toda la riqueza que esas acciones rituales contienen y desvelando toda la verdad que custodian. Silvestre consigue, sin caer en el rubricismo, una explicación paulatina y pormenorizada de la celebración eucarística.

Sfeşnicul Menorah-antetip al minţii lui Hristos. O exegeză chiriliană cu semnificaţii mistagogice şi misiologice, în Rev. Mitropolia Olteniei, nr. 5-8, mai-august 2015, ISSN 1013-4239, p. 77-94, Ideea studiului de față mi-a venit în cadrul cercetărilor mele actuale dar și în contextul crizei misiunii și dialogului interreligios și ecumenic actual manifestat printr-o stagnare efectivă a evoluției lumii creștine spre unitate prin acest dialog, în contrapondere cu evoluția spre unitate a lumii pe baza unor principii și ideologii total străine spiritului creștin. De asemenea, enunțarea și enumerarea în manualele de specialitate, doar conceptual a unor principii și mijloace de realizare a misiunii creștine în general și a Bisericii creștine ortodoxe îndeosebi, m-a făcut să meditez mai profund la tematica și titlul prezentului simpozion, " a face misiune după modelul lui Hristos‖, întrebându-mă din perspective specializării mele – spiritualitate – care ar fi mijlocul esențial cerut de Hristos pentru a face misiune după modelul Său? Care ar fi, cu alte cuvinte, modelul misionarului creștin ortodox și prin ce s-ar deosebi el de orice alt misionar al altei religii sau al altei misiuni din lume, din punct de vedere al stării spirituale? Răspunsul nil dă Sfântul Apostol Pavel, aducându-le aminte Corintenilor în prima sa epistolă că trebuie să dobândească " mintea lui Hristos‖ (I Cor. 2, 16). Dezvoltări şi consideraţii misiologice privind dobândirea acestei " minţi a lui Hristos‖ şi eficienţa ei în cadrul misiunii găsim la teologul tradiționalist, Părintele Iustin Popovici. Dezvoltând și reliefând în studiile sale despre " Misiunea internă a Bisericii noastre: Realizarea Ortodoxiei " și despre ―Valoarea supremă și criteriul ultim în Ortodoxie‖ ca esențiale principiile hristologice și eclesial-ascetice în misiunea Bisericii ortodoxe, el nominalizează alături de alte câteva virtuți-nevoințe divino-umane ca mijloace esenţiale de structurare și instaurare a acestor principii în viața și misiunea Bisericii, şi " mintea (conformă) lui Hristos‖, expresia regăsindu-se aproape ca un leit-motiv în multe alte din lucrările sale. 1 Discursul părintelui Iustin pe această temă nu e doar unul 1 «misiunea Bisericii este aceea de a uni organic şi personal pe toţi credincioşii ei cu Persoana lui Hristos; să facă din simţirea lor de sine, simţire de Hristos şi din conştiinţa de sine a lor, conştiinţa lui Hristos; viaţa lor să devină viaţă în Hristos şi prin Hristos ; sufletul lor să devină suflet în Hristos şi prin Hristos, etc. » Arhim. " A cugeta la toate în Hristos şi prin Hristos-iată porunca de căpetenie pentru fiecare creştin, iată imperativul nostru creştin categoric, iată gnoseologia noastră creştină. Prin Hristos însă, poate cugeta numai cel ce are mintea lui Hristos. Sfântul Apostol mărturiseşte, vorbind despre creştini: ―Noi mintea lui Hristos avem‖ (I Corinteni 2:16). Cum am dobîndit-o? Trăind în trupul Lui Dumnezeu-omenesc, în Biserică, al cărei cap este El. Trăirea în Biserică, cu ajutorul Sfintelor Taine şi sfintelor fapte bune, uneşte întreaga noastră fiinţă cu fiinţa Bisericii, uneşte şi mintea noastră cu mintea Dumnezeu-omenească a Bisericii şi ne face în stare să cugetăm după Hristos şi să gîndim ceea ce este şi în Hristos Iisus. Ensaio e meditação sobre a apreensão da verdade por meio de símbolos na recordação do coração, sua relação com a mistagogia, com a percepção da beleza e com o papel terapêutico da arte. A partir das idéias de vários místicos e filósofos cristãos elabora-se uma meditação sobre o coração como centro da alma e memória espiritual e sobre a recordação como ato fundamental de consciência. A partir disso estabelecem-se relações entre arte e recordação, entre o fazer artístico, a apreensão estética e a transformação da memória.


Essay and meditation on the apprehension of truth through symbols in the record of the heart, its relation to mystagogy, to the perception of beauty and to the therapeutic role of art. From the ideas of various mystics and Christian philosophers, a meditation on the heart as the center of the soul and spiritual memory and on recollection as the fundamental act of consciousness is elaborated. From this we establish relations between art and memory, between artistic doing, aesthetic apprehension and the transformation of the memory.

Mystagogy-Way and Canon in Orthodoxy. Believers today, even theologians, often have an ambiguous or obscure understanding of the notion of "mystagogy". We therefore aim, through this study, to rediscover the meaning(s) of "mystagogy" in Orthodoxy. We will notice, also by following its etymological evolution, that the term has been used since before Christianity, in Ancient Greece. Christianity has not changed its meaning, but rather enriched and perfected it. Its semantic field also encompasses the notions of mystery, mystical/mysticism, which aid us very much to understand the deep meanings that it had in the consciousness of the Church. The purpose of this analysis is to rediscover the authentic manner of relating to the life of the Church, which is the life of Christ made accessible to the faithful. Mystagogy is precisely the method by which we fully and consciously become partakers of this divine and deifying life. In conclusion, if Orthodoxy defined itself throughout history by clearly establishing its scriptural, dogmatic, liturgical and disciplinary canons, mystagogy is the canon within all these canons, the method and norm to which we refer whenever it is necessary to assert identity or to advance in the spiritual ascent.

Ogni interpretazione che voglia fissare un significato definitivo alle parole di Qohelet manca il bersaglio non tanto in questo o quel contenuto che gli attribuisce, ma proprio nell'attribuire un senso definitivo alla sua stessa dinamica testuale. Qohelet non pretende di imprigionare l'uomo con la sua sapienza; non impone la sua visione, ma espone alla condizione di crisi e al rischio etico e personale dell'interrogazione aperta. Di contro a un approccio solamente storico-critico del testo, Ponso offre una proposta interpretativa in grado di reintegrare testo e contesto, liturgia e interpretazione, mistagogia e senso testuale, oralità e scrittura, lettura e ascesi, vita e forme di vita. Lo fa richiamandosi all'approccio misterico-sacramentale proprio dei Padri, in cui i vari piani dell'esistenza sono integrati nella loro interazione continua e complessa, in un textum che non si limita alla mera lettera scritta, ma coinvolge il sentire, l'agire, il ritmo e l'armonia, la disarmonia e la continua conversione, i significanti e i significati. Questa è l'unica via non solo per una più corretta lettura e interpretazione dei testi sacri, ma anche per salvare le stesse forme di vita della fede cristiana. ANDREA PONSO, dopo la laurea in teoria della letteratura a Padova e il dottorato di ricerca in lingue e letterature comparate (Macerata), si è dedicato agli studi teologico-liturgici all'Istituto di Liturgia Pastorale di S. Giustina (Padova). Ha fatto parte per molti anni del comitato scientifico del Monastero di Camaldoli. È autore di testi di critica, teologia e poesia in varie riviste. I ferri del mestiere, il suo ultimo libro in versi, è apparso ne Lo Specchio Mondadori (2011), mentre Il Saggiatore ha ospitato la sua nuova versione commentata del Cantico dei cantici (2018). Este trabalho é norteado pelo dom da mistagogia do padre Reginaldo Manzotti, observado a partir da dimensão de seu discurso em relação aos fiéis que frequentam o Santuário N. Sra, de Guadalupe. O objetivo da pesquisa é buscar compreender qual aliança é gerada na relação padre e fiel, já que há uma troca entre estes atores. A metodologia utilizada é a etnografia em conjunto com a bibliografia que além de sustentar os resultados obtidos em campo, sugerem diferentes maneiras de olhar e interpretar o ambiente, os indivíduos e as relações. Os principais resultados da pesquisa obtidos, se tratam da troca gerada entre padre e fiel, culminando no significado que o padre recebe dos fiéis. Além disso, os resultados apontam para a eficácia dos símbolos, a permear a vida no Santuário, e como eles enfatizam o sagrado que ali habita, ilustrando de que forma se dá a introdução ao mistério e o que ela revela aos fiéis.

We are accustomed to paying special attention to the Sacrament of Baptism, especially of infants, and this is often done to the detriment of both adult baptism and the preparation and formation to be considered before and after baptism. Therefore, in this article we want to draw attention to some formative elements that defined the life of the Church in the patristic period and that today have remained isolated, most of the time, at the level of academic research. The whole life of the Church is mystagogical par excellence, mystagogy being the Churchʹs guiding method towards approaching and uniting with God. Catechesis and patristic mystagogical commentaries are two expressions of this way of guiding the faithful, which should be reconsidered in the Church at the level of each diocese. Only by understanding the meaning of mystagogy in the Church can we rediscover catechesis as the living word, springing from the experience of the Holy Spirit, which has renewing power in the life of every believer. On the other hand, we want to emphasize the important role that the community of believers must play in relation to any new member of the Church. Without the awareness of responsibility towards the other members of the body of Christ, one cannot build a true spiritual life.

"The Apophatic Mystagogy of <<Zdania i uwagi>> – towards the Poetic Falling Silent of Adam Mickiewicz".
ENG: The article focuses on Zdania i uwagi – a work that could be recognised as the penultimate stop on the way towards the poetic falling silent of Adam Mickiewicz. In it the Romantic author renounced all claims to autonomous creativity and concealed his auteur “I” behind the spiritual guidebooks read by him. The collection reflects Mickiewicz’s evolving views about poetry and the word. In his concept of literature emerging in the shadow of the Romantic crisis of the language the author stressed the mystagogic and performative role of the word. The objective of writing is to render truths permanent and to transmit them (initiation); the written work is to be the reason why something that shall incline others to act will take place. Doubt in the cognitive power of language, combined with an inner conviction about the necessity of proclaiming the truth, leads the poet along the apophatic path, which in Zdania i uwagi reveals itself upon the level of the form in the aesthetics of a fragment (the “kenosis” of the discourse, a bereft style), while upon the level of contents it is expressed in the praise of silence and calm – conditions for contemplation conceived not merely as a way of cognition but also prayer.

PL: Artykuł poświęcony jest "Zdaniom i uwagom" – dziełu, które można uznać za przedostatni przystanek na drodze ku poetyckiemu zamilknięciu Adama Mickiewicza. Romantyk zrzeka się w nich pretensji do autonomicznej twórczości, chowając autorskie "ja" za wersami czytanych przewodników duchowych. W zbiorku odbijają się ewoluujące poglądy Mickiewicza na temat poezji i słowa. W swojej rodzącej się w cieniu romantycznego kryzysu języka koncepcji literatury twórca podkreśla mistagogiczną i performatywną rolę słowa. Celem pisania ma być utrwalanie i przekazywanie prawd (wtajemniczanie), za przyczyną dzieła ma się wydarzyć coś, co skłoni innych do działania. Zwątpienie w kognitywną i przedstawieniową moc języka połączone z wewnętrznym przekonaniem o konieczności głoszenia prawdy prowadzi poetę na ścieżkę apofatyczną, która w "Zdaniach i uwagach" na poziomie formy przejawia się w estetyce fragmentu ("kenozie" dyskursu, ogołoconym stylu), zaś na poziomie treści wyrażona zostaje w pochwale milczenia i wyciszenia – będących warunkiem kontemplacji, rozumianej nie tylko jako sposób poznania, ale i modlitwy.
