This report provides an overview and analysis of various factors influencing access to justice in Zimbabwe. In particular it focuses on the role of legal information, legal education and the legal profession as well as legal aid and assistance in relation to an individual’s capacity to seek and demand protection and redress under the legal system. Moreover, it considers political, institutional and socio-cultural concerns affecting the accessibility of justice. In light of positive developments and persistent deficiencies in the current system revealed by the findings, each individual section and the report overall conclude with recommendations for enhancing access to justice in Zimbabwe.

The goal of Global Rights’ Legal Fellows Workshop was to provide advanced training and empowerment on gender awareness and the legal framework in Afghanistan. The overall aim of the training was to enhance Global Rights’ Legal Fellows’ (GRLF) knowledge on topics such as gender concepts, women’s legal rights and national legal machinery, especially the understanding of the 2010 Elimination of Violence against Women law in Afghanistan. The project was designed to strengthen the capacity of GRLFs working to support civil society to protect human rights in Afghanistan. The goal of the training was to have 120 participants trained in a period of four weeks.
