Stretered – The large cult site from the Bronze age The site is a large cooking-pit system situated on a high rime facing a lake. It was found a 3-row cooking-pit system. The length of the system stretched over 250 m. Totally 132 cooking-pits, 6 hearth and remains of a house were found. Stretered is the largest site found in Sweden for cult activities, dated to bronze age – oldest iron age. The northern system consisted of a 3-row cooking-pit system. In the southern part it converted to a 1-row cooking-pit system. In between there were a stone fundament (altar?). The cooking-pit system ended in the south by facing remains of a house. All 14C dated to 800-400 B.C.
