This presentation was part of an invited conference at the “ 2011 Invitational Seminar on Rare Metals ”, held in Seoul, Korea, October 5 , 2011, on behalf of KORES, and introduces the Brazilian general aspects on Geology and Mining , particularly for "rare metals" and rare earths possibilities. As for the rare earths it presents the classification and location of known occurrences and deposits in Brazil and some adjacent South American countries.
