The aim of the article is to identify the image of Augustus in the view of Roman jurists (2nd and 3d centuries AD). After reviewing the references of Augustus in the extant fragments from the writings of the Roman jurists, the author comes to the conclusion that in the view of Roman jurists Augustus was an ideal ruler, the example to follow.
