The Piedmont Zone of the Indo-Gangetic Plain contains numerous, laterally coalescing small alluvial fans. The Latest Pleistocene–Holocene 30 km long Gaula Fan can be divided into gravelly proximal fan (0–14 km down-stream), gravel-sand rich mid fan (14–22 km) and sand–mud dominated distal fan (22–30 km). The fan succession is composed of two fan expansion cycles A and B. Separated by an undulatory erosional contact of regional extent, cycle A is characterized by river borne clast-supported gravelly deposits, and the overlying fan expansion cycle B by matrix-supported gravely debris flows. The main process behind fan development has been lateral migration of channels over the fan surface probably due to rapid sedimentation caused by increased sediment supply, and the fluctuating water budget in response to changing climate. The water laid expansion cycle A represents a humid phase. The debris flow deposits of expansion cycle B suggest a dry phase. Approximately between 8 and 3 Ka, cycle B also indicates a phase of tectonic instability in the Siwalik Hills forming the mountain front. The tectonic activity caused incision of rivers into the fan surface, and in turn resulted in reduced fan-building activity. At present the fan surface is accreting by sheet flow processes.

Keperluan yang paling sering adalah ketika kita mau melakukan transaksi jual beli kamera second. Baru-baru ini saya mengalami kesulitan tentang hal ini pada kamera Nikon D300s yang telah saya gunakan selama hampir setahun. Setelah searching sana sini, akhirnya saya dapat petunjuk bahwa hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan cukup mudah. Ada beberapa software yang dapat digunakan untuk keperluan tersebut antara lain, Opanda dan Photoshop (PS). Berhubung pengolahan foto saya lakukan dengan PS, maka melalui tulisan singkat ini saya akan menjelaskan cara mengetahui jumlah SC pada kamera Nikon D300s dengan menggunakan PS CS5. Tentunya bisa juga menggunakan PS CS3 atau CS4 dan semoga cara ini berlaku pada semua jenis kamera DLSR Nikon dan kamera merek lainnya. Langkah-langkahnya adalah sebagai berikut: 1. Buka software Photoshop anda. 2. Buka salah satu file foto mutakhir atau hasil jepretan terakhir yang belum diolah. 3. Dari menu File, klik File Info. 4. Dari Option Bar, klik Advanced. 5. Dari Property Tree, jika sejumlah keterangan belum ditampilkan, klik tanda panah kecil di sebelah kiri pada Schema (http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/aux/). 6. Salah satu informasi yang ditampilkan menjukkan jumlah SC pada kamera, yakni: Aux: Image Number: 7560. Jumlah SC ini persis sama jika menggunakan software Opanda. Today's Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) can include millions of concurrent players spread across the world. To keep these highly-interactive virtual environments online, a MMOG operator may need to provision tens of thousands of computing resources from various data centers. Faced with large resource demand variability, and with misfit resource renting policies, the current industry practice is to maintain for each game tens of self-owned data centers. In this work we investigate the dynamic resource provisioning from external data centers for MMOG operation. We introduce a novel MMOG workload model that represents the dynamics of both the player population and the player interactions. We evaluate several algorithms, including a novel neural network predictor, for predicting the resource demand. Using trace-based simulation, we evaluate the impact of the data center policies on the resource provisioning efficiency; we show that dynamic provisioning can be much more efficient than its static alternative.

The Laboratory for Collaborative Diagnostics works in the field of Collaborative Diagnostics. A definition of Collaborative Diagnostics is found at www.lcd.utoronto.ca. The Malaria TV project is an application of our Collaborative Digital Microscope project described in greater detail at the link (www.lcd.utoronto.ca/collaborativedigitalmicroscope.html).The Malaria TV project will give participants a sense on how public health tools can be designed, developed and delivered using: 1)collaboration technologies like Access Grid; 2)commodity or cheap computation gear and 3)generic public health lab microscopes and CCD cameras.To demonstrate the tool's effectiveness the participants will be able to interact with a real live parasitologist who will interpret and explanation biological samples. We will also be attempting to link in labs from other parts of Canada and Africa.The session will give participants a sense on how collaboration technology can be used to address very real problems.

Improvements in the performance of processors and networks make it both feasible and interesting to treat collections of workstations, servers, clusters, and supercomputers as integrated computational resources, or Grids. However, the highly heterogeneous and dynamic nature of such Grids can make application development dicult. Here we describe an architecture and prototype implementation for a Grid-enabled computational framework based on Cactus, the MPICH-G2 Grid-enabled message-passing library, and a variety of specialized features to support ecient execution in Grid environments. We have used this framework to perform record-setting computations in numerical relativity, running across four supercomputers and achieving scaling of 88% (1140 CPU's) and 63% (1500 CPUs).
