Sea forts

The typology of forts which has been existed in the political boundary of Marathwada region is very identical to the precinct. The Land fort at Paranda is one of the typical examples of medieval deccan land forts and exemplifies Bahmani style military architecture. Compared to the other Bahmani forts such as Gulbarga and Bidar forts, it has less extent. This fort bears the administrative areas, palatial complexes, ammunition storage and water bodies combine to make it a stronghold in current Marathwada region. This research paper on Paranda fort gives an insight of its functional usage and study of military architecture which helps to understand the nature of land forts in this region. Being one of the typical examples of Land forts typology of Medieval period the research study would act as a role model toolkit for restoration and conservation of many cases of similar kind. The study would be helpful to understand and identify heritage potential. The outcome is specifically depending upon the visual surveys and representative examples in few cases.

Construction practices have evolved throughout the history of mankind from wattle and daub huts of ancient times, to the architectural marvels of the Middle Ages, to the towering structures like the Burj Khalifa, today. Modern practices though enabling us to erect structures of heretofore unseen dimensions, cannot always guarantee longevity and sturdiness without being capital intensive and leaving behind a large carbon footprint. In a haste to embrace modernity, we have let go of past lore within which were ensconced the ways to deal with problems that even rapidly evolving modern practices haven't been able to fix. For this purpose, we have tried to explore any such avenues by carrying out study of a historical structure, namely, Raigad fort. We settled on this structure after going through a list of quite impressive structures such as the Taj Mahal, Konark Sun Temple, the Chausath Yogini Temple, etc. Of these the Chausath Yogini temple even served as a major impression on the design of the modern-day Indian Parliament building, thus showcasing how important analyzing these old structures can prove, when designing modern structures. Our reasons for selecting Raigad Raigad is nestled in an obscure place amongst the Sahyadri ranges, with a history of climatic extremes ranging from heavy rainfall to scorching heat and droughts. Yet, this fort exhibits some of the most impressive water supply schemes employed, within the framework of the classic ancient Indian Dhanush (Bow-shaped) type of town planning design. Along with provision of toilets (something rare for medieval times) for the royal quarters and for ministerial mansions, sewerage systems, we also have impregnable fortifications, secret passageways, and immaculately designed grain storehouses and gunpowder storages. The highlight over this all is the Rajya Sabha, or the royal court which was designed in such a way so as to ensure that even a whisper at its entrance would be heard on the king's throne.

In addition , it provide the navigation Reader for walking and riding , which is based on Google maps and supports more detailed voice guidance for the distance to a destination and direction. chat bots are an intelligent system being developed using artificial intelligent (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms.

Janjira - The Undefeated Fort
Janjira Fort is situated on the Murud beach in the Arabian sea along the Konkan coast line. Murud is the nearest town to the fort which is located at about 165 kms from Mumbai. You need to drive on the NH17 till Pen & then proceed towards Murud via Alibaug and Revdanda. The  Rajapuri jetty is from where sail boats sail to the fort entrance. The road from murud town to janjira fort takes you a top a small hill from where you get the first glimpse of this amazing fort. Once you decent this hill, you reach Rajapuri jetty which is a small fishermen village. The sail boats take you from the jetty to the main door of the fort . One unique feature of this fort is that the entrance is not easily visible from a distance and can only be identified, once you go nearer to the walls of the fort. This was a strategy due to which Janjira was never conquered as the enemy would just keep on wondering about the entrance of the fort. The walls of the fort have become abraded due to harsh waves crashing on its surface for over so many centuries. The remains of the palaces and courts in the fort are not well-maintained as it should have been. The Balekilla or the main complex of the fort is strategically located at a higher altitude right at the center of the fort so that it remains safe from the attack from any of the directions. The Lake in this island fort is surprisingly a fresh water source in middle of the sea. About 2 kms in north-west direction, you can also see another island fort, 'Padmadurg' which was constructed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj inorder to conquer Janjira but his effort did not yield any fruitful result. This is a must visit place for all who adore History. Janjira Fort still stands tall among the violent waves of the Arabian Sea, roaring about its glorious past.
